They have pulled the plug. ........................ ............which brings me to the other reason why I find the new stand embarrassing. Bristol Energy is losing money hand over fist, was set up and further funded by Bristol City Council (i.e. Council Tax payers like me), and no longer supplies B.C.C. because its tariffs are higher than other suppliers!

Thank you for the info Angas. As no notice has yet been given of elections I assume that as it stands Ken Masters' term of office is about to end.

It's about this time that notice is given of the SC AGM. More often than not it's held in the first part of October. More precise detail of when it should be held is in the constitution:
'8. Annual General Meeting 8.1 The Annual General Meeting (“AGM) will be held within 4 months of the end of the financial year and no later than 15 months following the date of the preceding AGM. 8.2 All people who were BRSC members for the season to which the AGM covers will be given no less than 14 days notice by post (or other method of communication deemed appropriate by the EC) of the date, time and venue of the AGM. Admittance to the AGM shall be on production of that year’s membership card. 8.3 Reports and Accounts will be available at least 14 days prior to the AGM. Members may request copies in advance be posted to them subject to the payment of a small administrative charge or may collect copies from the Kingswood HQ from two weeks in advance of the AGM. Extracts from the Report and Accounts will be posted on the BRSC website at least two weeks in advance of the AGM. 8.4 Notification of the AGM will include details of all those nominated people who were elected (opposed or unopposed at the last AGM) together with a list of EC members, the number of meetings they could attend and the actual number attended. Information relating to any members standing for election and details of the election procedure will also be included.'
Given issues around the handling of finances in recent years it's important that the SC presents its audited accounts. Ken Masters is the sole SC Director, and according to the constitution the elections for that post should come around every three years. Are they due this year?
Have I missed any announcement? If not what's going on?

Going back to the title of the article, we are suffering from lack of leadership at all levels in the club. At the top there is deafening silence. I know that not all developments can be reported, but there are ways of keeping the fanbase on board. The new CEO has hardly made any impression as far as I can see. The management is looking increasingly forlorn and hints at discord. DC says that he takes full responsibility for recruitment, selection and tactics. Exactly! On the pitch we lack true leaders. Tom may be a great bloke but he is not one for rallying the troops. The Supporters Club? Will there be an AGM in October?? Ken Masters' last 'Notes' appeared on 13 March. As a club we are drifting. Things may be happening 'behind the scenes', but they'd better hurry up. Any more drifting and we'll be on the rocks!

Interesting to hear on Having A Gas on Thursday that Ed Upson revealed he met Darrell Clarke and club officials at the London office to discuss signing. He was impressed at the set up. I don't know why but this reminds me of the type of comedy sketch where someone is wined and dined in what seems to be a really posh and exclusive setting, but then someone sneezes or leans against a wall and the whole thing collapses in on itself; revealing bare brick walls and a concrete floor!

I can identify with the OP. I first watched Rovers in the early 60s and carry a ST. My feeling is one of continual Groundhog Day style deja-vu. The talk of evolution is claptrap...the snail is still evolving! Too often in recent years the thought of 'Why the hell am I here?' (and I don't mean it in a philosophical sense) crosses my mind in the course of a game. I watched the recent Bath City v WSM game, and enjoyed it far more than any recent Rovers game. We are drifting, the club seems to lack any urgent sense of direction.

Can we find someone better,in all fairness to said player looks like we're scraping the barrel already. We cant afford the barrel, we're in the biscuit tin We were so poor we used to have a barrel of broken biscuits. I went to the corner shop as a lad and asked if they had any broken biscuits. The shopkeeper (anyone remember Jarman's?) said, 'No, but wait a moment'; and then shook his tin and filled a bag for me!

Bluddy awful. It's not so much the losing as being unable to score one goal at home against League 2 opposition. The jury's not out on Nichols anymore; they've returned a unanimous decision!!

You think Ken Masters is there to represent fans’ interests? Funniest thing I’ve read all year. He never once stood up for supporters in the decade he was on the board under the old regime, highly unlikely he will start now. Oh i am under no illusion of KM and The SC, but surely if people are being pushed to the wayside and treated badly you would think they would have something to say wouldnt you of they had anything about them Not if they are the sort of self-effacing people who don't want to cause trouble for the club they love. Keith Brookman is not the only long serving clubman who has 'resigned/retired' in recent years because their position has been made more and more uncomfortable.

Final score 6-1 to Bath City.
A young Rovers side was brushed aside by an efficient and fluent Bath City. Familiar names in the Bath side were Sean Rigg, Ryan Clarke, Ryan Brunt, Kevin Amankwaah, Ross Stearn, Jack Batten........................... Ryan Clarke in particular was excellent, saving two well struck penalties; and Ryan Brunt led the line well. Hard to pick out any Rovers players for a mention. Leigh Gilchrist put in a shift, especially in the second half. Alfie Kilgour came on for the second half and stood out from the crowd. Alfie Clarke did nothing to enhance his reputation in some quarters and Deon Moore took his second minute goal well. Early days but Bath, under Jerry Gill, could be in for a good season!
Att: 340
Trialists included:
Pat O'Flaherty - 'keeper Fin Hay - RB Deon Moore - CF Dan Armstrong - RW? Zain Walker
How on earth has Alfie Clarke got a 'reputation' when he has only played one half of a first team friendly against Melksham! Fair point. I'd just heard that he may be seen as the answer to the LB 'problem'. On yesterday's showing he isn't there yet. Hopefully he will be.

resting, looking for a loan out and injured. what I find so hard about these games is that the lazy arse journos can't even work out who the trialist is. Practically the only interesting bit about the whole match and they just can't be bothered. They probably do know but experience tells us that our local journalists never go out on a limb to voice an opinion or give information that the club doesn't want known. Add to this that the Post is increasingly leaning towards City, with daily articles by Gregor McGregor and that Friday page written by Michelle Owen. With Jack Vittles gone and some bloke who also covers rugby regurgitating the Rovers OS the Post can no longer be considered even-handed.
