3-0 down at halftime. Poor team performance at the Mem. Only Matthews, Sercombe, Bennett, Rodman and Upson did well. Defensively we were shocking Leadbitter, Lockyer, Broadbent and Craig were awful. Nichols offered no goal threat whatsoever. We desperately need two strikers.

Bluddy awful. It's not so much the losing as being unable to score one goal at home against League 2 opposition. The jury's not out on Nichols anymore; they've returned a unanimous decision!!

On the striker topic i thought mensah and reilly both looked lively in the 2nd half. I thought most of the defensive problems came from broadbent being totally unable to cope with their big striker stockley who bullied him off the pitch. Matthews, rodman, bennett and upson all played well in my view.
Where was lines,sinclair and partington?

DC's post match interview was worrying as he confirms strikers being looked at are now out of Club's price range and their wages cannot be matched. Looks like Nichols, Mensah, Reilly and Bennett are our strikeforce

He did say no marquee signing. Why twist his words. Not seen the news about fake news?

Thought TB was up against Jonathan Forte in the first half & Stockley came on after halftime, when TB had gone off. I thought it was more a case of the defence being a shambles cos Craig couldn't manage FB. I could be wrong.....

How i saw it was that broadbent was left side and lockyer right side with forte clearly usually left side upfront with stockley on their right. Both our centre-backs were poor but i think the game was a particular disaster for broadbent and he was taken off at half time. Neither of the 2 strikers were being marked by craig but by all means blame it on him if it suits you?

Stockley and Forte both started. Boateng scored a corker of a left footed goal
Exeter City line up: Pym, Sweeney, A Martin, Law, Holmes, Stockley, Forte, Taylor, Moxey, Brown and Boateng.
Subs: Woodman, L Martin, Jay, Oates, Abrahams, Croll, Hamon, Collins, Sparkes

Heard a rumour that Lines is off to a League 2 club. Possibly back to Port Vale. Lines is too good for fourth division football.

If we are losing $2m per season then the money from transfers has been spent on the infrastructure. This means that the development squad need to start producing first teams and not squad players. This means the head of recruitment needs to find players at a standard of value that are better than the previous model of agents submitting their players to the club with a pre-determined cost. The commercial director needs to increase revenues and remove inefficiencies. The London office has to do something for its cost. There have never been more players available now than anytime in history given the influx of overseas players and the presence of acadamies and u23 teams providing reasons for clubs to employ more footballers. It's how the club costs each player now and then sells the 'upside' that joining Rovers could lead to massive wages and a transfer to higher leagues after just a few seasons.

Re players available There appears to many tied to clubs who spend all their time out on loan. Whole they are still young Colkett and Clarke-Salter are just about to start their 3td season out on loan. Must be many like this. Not saying for us, just using as an example, will they leave as freebies and wage demands be realistic?

Looks like Nichols, Mensah, Reilly and Bennett are our strikeforce If that is to be our strikeforce - then in the words of Private Frasier... "we're doomed". Some of that Ellis transfer money has to be re-invested. And bloody soon.

I think we will sign a big striker on a free, loan or small fee. We just wont be spending £700k + on one.

So much talk about big strikers. That was not our style getting promoted back into the league. That was not our style getting promoted back into the third division. Did we not play a more attractive passing game for Matty Taylor? I'm not giving him the credit especially. But he was that type of striker. We played great. You all enjoyed your matchdays. We got two successive promotions. I don't think a big striker will rejuvinate that style. I don't think a big striker will necessarily get us ninth or higher.
