The three decent fees you have mentioned were off set by the money we received for selling our two best players, I doubt very much if the owners have spent very much of their own money at all on the squad. The lies about plan B are a big worry as it reflects on their integrity. But the biggest worry is the deafening silence from our chairman and boardroom, especially after DC'S thinly veiled criticism at the weekend where any board worth it's salt would have responded.

As predicted it looks very much like we will be making do with loan signings, a road DC did not want to go down,it's a great shame that we have got one of the best managers we have ever had (if not the best) and he is being given no financial backing. I never thought I would say it but I think I would prefer the days of Higgs and Dunford who did their best with limited resources as opposed to our present owners who do nothing with vast resources.

The history of investment and management is poor. However its too soon imo to judge the new owners. I for one will be giving them a chance to take the club forward after the UWE setback. They took over a club already years behind most clubs. I admire your loyalty but there comes a point where it turns in blind subservience, I have become very cynical of our new owners not least because we were told there was a plan B if the UWE fell through and it is apparent to anyone with half an eye there never was a plan B. What else have we nbeen lied to about.

I disagree. We received pathetic fees for both players relative to their ability and performances for us. Our management of their contracts has been poor, in my opinion. Since I started watching in 2000ish I think these are the players that have moved on for money: Roberts - 2m Cureton - 250k Tilson - 25k Ellington - 1.2m Agogo - 300k Lambert - 1m Hoskins - 500k Lines - 50k Carayol - 300k s***head Snake - 300k I'd say Roberts looks about par for the market at the time and Hoskins looks like an excellent deal in hindsight as he barely played a game afterwards. I know there were circumstances between every single one of those transfers but I'd say those two aside our player was massively undervalued.

We are still a selling Club. Al-Qadis won't invest a f******g penny until we have a "sound business case for investment". Wael doesn't have a sound business case. The pathetic "news" about the Colony is an equally pathetic attempt to divert attention from the current predicament. Good luck Billy. We couldnt force Bodin to sign the contract he was offered So why didn't we make him an improved offer,we will never replace him for the money we are reported to have got for him. Hang on we could sign another player like Nicholls for that sort of fee.For gods sake bring back Higgs.

I also still back DC but I wish he would stop complaining about fixture congestion and having a small squad,it's the same for all teams and if we have got a smaller squad than most I would like to know why in view of our attendances which must be in the top four in our league.I am old enough to remember when we played Xmas day and Boxing day and twice in two days over the new year holiday with the Rovers squad consisting of about 15 players.

Not expecting any good news in the January transfer window, lets be honest if you had any faith in your own ability would you want to play for us ?

I was there Steve Yates had Andy Cole in his pocket all game, I would have said Carl Saunders was the best goal.

Has the penny not dropped yet,we have been fed an continuous, stream of bulls**t from day one with our present owners, they have got absolutely no intention of upgrading the mem and never have had,the old adage you don't miss what you have never had comes to mind and I will continue to support the team and DC but I am not prepared to listen to any more of the rubbish from above.

I am also a huge DC fan but unfortunately football managers live or die by their transfer dealings and the majority of the players he acquired in the summer are frankly not good enough for this league, I am ever hopeful but ive got severe reservations as to whether this group have the quality to turn things around.

The collapse of the UWE may be having a massive effect even if dismissed as irrelevant. Daryl himself has turned down other opportunities along with recruiting players that without doubt would have been swayed by the ''certain'' prospect of a new stadium and state of the art training facilities. The fan base in general having a track record of abject failure to deliver to rely upon were clearly angered by not only the collapse but also the lack of any sound explanation for why it happened. In my view the Stadium was seen by the owners as an opening to a more profitable development on the site which UWE rejected. That aside, since the UWE announcement the wind has without doubt been taken out of our sails. There is a feeling of stagnation growing that needs to be dealt with swiftly with the proposed redevelopment of the Mem being brought forward asap. Unrest is growing, rumours are brushed aside not resolved, there is nothing in focus to look forward to, and previous experience is leading many to believe we have been badly misled. I cant believe why we the fans have stood for it again we continue to get fantastic gates despite being treated appallingly, we were told there was a plan B if the UWE fell through, it is obvious to anyone with half an eye there was no plan B ,we have hardly reached the consultation stage of redeveloping the mem, we have obviously been fed another pack of lies.

For those of you who keep dismissing all the stories of woe emanating from within our that give grave cause for concern, below is a statement from the person(s) involved in fencegate. Let’s try and not let a story get in the way of actual true facts please find below this statement, cue Lord Justice Gashead and his merry band of rose tinters to try and dissect UTG : I will try and explain what has gone on in a sensible way without apportioning blame on any individual or company In February The landscape company was instructed by brick to cut back hedgerows and excessive growth around the perimeter of training ground.about half way through the clearance the club realised there was no way of securing the site from vehicle and caravan access without a fence being erected IT WENT to tender and I understand J & G were successful Work was completed No payment was received until July which was 3k out of £40 k plus since then there have been several more payments of 3k after a long gap and several emails J& G went legal they received another 2k this week They also excavated the ditch that runs the entire length of the site I have finally spoken up as I am fed up of companies who worked this site and did a good job being blamed If you enter the site you will also see 2 huge roller shutter doors on the original agricultural sheds and new internal wall to house grass cutting machinery So yes money is owed and steve Brookfield is trying his best to pay it is only my relationship with the club over 15 years of sponsoring all the stands and managers cars that stops me going legal I am fully behind Daryl but the politics within the club have upset me. I am sure I will get slaughtered for speaking up but I love this club and things aren’t right. I think that we are all now aware (or should be) that things aren't right, we the fans have been fed another load of bull---- by the current administration. The only thing that comforts me is that they will soon be gone and we can all get back down to earth.

My mind was made up in the summer, it is the first time in my memory (over 50 years) that we have had an owner with real wealth and I was looking for a statement of intent regarding our transfer dealings, and to be honest there was very little difference with the current and previous regimes.

Great report as usual Steve,I saw the match in just about the same way but would have made Broadbent my MOM as I thought he was immense. My only complaint, which is not match related, is our dreadful PA system.I was in the East terrace and didn't hear a word that Nick said during the testimonial to Geoff Dunford.Others around me also made the same comments. The tannoy in the Blackthorn has been dreadful for at least ten years to my knowledge, makes you wonder what chance we have of a refurbished Mem when it takes this long to sort out our P A system.

Over the top it may be but even his most ardent supporter must admit disappointment with his investment in the playing squad, if you take out the £300K we got for taylor my guess is we have spent very little on transfer fees in fact I think our recruitment this summer has been very similar to many of the previous seasons.I am not a fan that demands that a club chairman should invest shed loads of his money but as we have now got the richest chairman in the clubs history I think we could have expected a little bit more.
