Perfectly reasonable question. Does anyone know the names of the industry experts who have allegedly built 12 stadiums and are now employed by us? I have asked before - and no-one has been able to name any, which I find odd. I trust this isn't sensitive information. Names would give fans some confidence that we are actually looking to redevelop the Memorial Stadium. More than happy for this Thread to be deleted by Mods if this information is out there and I missed it. Thanks. UTG.

I can say with some certainty that we did have onboard quite a number of stadium-related experts at one time, including one who it was claimed was responsible for the delivering of the new Wembley Stadium.
Whether they are still with us though, is anyone's guess.

There was some speculation that it was the company involved with Brentford's new stadium. More likely they are like David Davis's impact assements and don't exist. Another class A bulls**tter.

Henbury has a mole at SG Planning that he never mentions and he said nothing was happening - so this is probably nothing. Strong rumours about UWE going ahead which are gathering momentum by the day so if it is something my guess is Landsdown is involved.

Frankly, I'm disappointed. I expected much more from Bamber Gasgroin on the Starter for ten thread

As a general rule, but SGP may be different, they will send a letter to all interested parties saying PP is about to lapse askingif the have any intentions to proceed

I expected much more from Bamber Gasgroin on the Starter for ten thread Do you expect Graham Norton to invite celebrities to his home, put on a 2nd rate magician's dinner jacket and to shout inanities at everybody? I thought the stadium was a cracker anyway, not only is the arch the wrong way, the pitch faces the wrong direction inside, looks like exactly the sort of thing we would build.

I too would be very interested to learn the name of the company we are in talks with re: the stadium. They've built 12 so I'd like to look at their website where I presume they'll have photos of their achievements.

Interesting. This thread has been viewed around a 1000 times. And no-one either directly (or with second-hand information) knows the name of the company, or the names of anyone employed by that company, regarding the re-development of the Memorial Stadium. How odd. It would be strange not to share this positive news. It would be something tangible. What are the names of the previous 12 stadiums they have built? Would be great to look at what they have produced. Has Wael been "economical with the truth" regarding these industry experts? Or do we conclude that he has imaginary friends that build football stadiums?

Has the penny not dropped yet,we have been fed an continuous, stream of bulls**t from day one with our present owners, they have got absolutely no intention of upgrading the mem and never have had,the old adage you don't miss what you have never had comes to mind and I will continue to support the team and DC but I am not prepared to listen to any more of the rubbish from above.

I would agree on most of that. The only thing I would disagree with - the stream of bullsh*t started after August 3rd.

Or do we conclude that he has imaginary friends that build football stadiums? Go on then, I'll have a nibble as I'm feeling optimistic today. All previous projects designed for our mythical stadia have been by local Architects (Stride Treglown and Arturus to name two...) and to my knowledge these two, and most others in the area, are not stadium specialists. Therefore I would very much doubt you will find someone who works for the company as I do not think they are local. When UWE was being designed, I did know somebody working for one of the aforementioned firms and they did tell me about it, but I digress. Back to stadium architects, off the top of my head for a number of years main players have been HOK and Populous. However these are "A League" and I doubt we register as a lower league football club without paying money and we don't have lots of that floating about. Therefore, I am going to hazard my guess on Manchester based AFL Architects - who are the stadium designers for Brentford's new stadium, as well as a plethora (more than 12!) of other venues. AFL Architects
Maybe Irish can stake out the offices for sightings of Wael and Steve for us?

I would have thought The Buckingham Group, unless they've lost faith in dealing with us, post-UWE collapse.

Maybe Irish can stake out the offices for sightings of Wael and Steve for us? Smithy - I appreciate your optimism. However "hazarding a guess" isn't really the sort of information I was looking for. I just want some facts. I am "only" a supporter - and some people are outraged that I have the audacity to ask reasonable questions and then get frustrated when I don't get an answer. Anyway - I'll email AFL and see what they have to say for themselves.

You only have to look Saff the river to see it took C*ty two years to put together their training ground project and I doubt anyone knew that was happening unless they needed to. UWE was kept fully under wraps until it was ready to be unveiled - sometimes these things take time. It isn’t what we want to hear but when back to the drawing board things tend to be a closed shop. Good luck asking a random Architect directly though!
