that is exactly why Steven Lansdown and his young son Jon left Eastville one dull, wet day in 1986 after seeing a Snickers bar wrapper on the terraces at the Tote End and hot footed it to BS3 in his blue BMW.
We were so lucky Surely you mean Marathon?!!

If a company is in the process of being struck off can they avoid the late filing penalty payments that normally apply? Not more than 1 month - £150 More than 1 month but not more than 3 months - £375 More than 3 months but not more than 6 months - £750 More than 6 months - £1,500 I think if you apply to be struck off, you have to provide final accounts as part of the application. Depends whether they applied or whether the striking off is part of a process that HMRC automatically started when they didn't file an AR. Doubt you'd get a late filing payment in either case but not sure If you're striking off, you wouldn't normally file accounts at Companies House if they are late as the fine only gets levied at the point the accounts get received by CH. No fines attached to late Annual Returns but CH will move to strike off if either become significantly overdue. HMRC on the other hand will want some form of assurance in the form of accounts, albeit not necessarily statutory ones and could request a previously struck-off company to be reinstated to the register if they believe thee are wrongdoings or unpaid taxes. HMRC's dealings with the taxpayer are carried out outside of the public domain. PP

Did I NOT HEAR all trains from BTM to Paddington finish at Reading on 17 May and a bus to Victoria Coach station ? SAME ON RETURN JOURNEY No, National Rail and FGW (the operator) are both saying that there are diversions in place due to engineering works around the Reading area and between Southall and Paddington, the latter ending by 0830 Sunday.
This means that most trains will be running TM > Bath > Reading > Padd via diverted lines and not stopping at Didcot/Swindon/Chippenham. There is one train each way that involves a part bus substitution but that's all. Things can change of course but that's the latest as reported by National Rail and their engineering work is booked in advance - things do overrun of course.... Have faith, and a beer.

Not as far as I understand it! Most trains 15 mins or so longer and only one out and back involving bus from PWay to Swindon (source - FGW). Where did you see Reading??

I go up to London every Sunday, and the last few weeks they've been doing engineering works at reading, operating a coach service to Paddington, now you might be alright on the parkway train, but best check with first great western, because according to trainline.com it's 3 changes on a Sunday and nearly 3 hours!!!! Cheers. Just checked again and both Trainline and FGW (the operator) are showing all bar one service as direct, albeit 15 mins longer due to diversions caused by engineering work. We're booked on 0745 out and 1900 back - both circa 2 hours - will be in bar anyhow!

FGR website:
With ticket sales continuing today for Wednesday’s play-off semi-final first leg against Bristol Rovers at The New Lawn, the club would like to confirm that the match has been designated an all-ticket fixture.
Our opponents have already sold our their allocation for the North Stand, while FGR fans have been snapping up tickets for their sections ahead of the tie.
The ticket office is open until 7pm this evening for FGR supporters wanting to get their hands on tickets.
All purchases must be made in person. There are no longer sales online while it is also not possible to ring up the club to book.
The decision has also been made to stop sales at Ecotricity’s Unicorn House on Russell Street in Stroud.
Supporters are now also being asked for proof of identity when visiting the ticket office.
A driving license or passport, as well as utility bill, is needed to ensure only Forest Green fans are able to purchase tickets.
Ticket sales will end before the match on Wednesday at midday.

Those who went straight to the Cricketers missed fantastic hospitality in the Rack of Ale and a large selection of excellent ales and cider served directly to our tables. A steady stream of free food before and after the game - pork pies, scotch eggs, cheesy nibbles, baskets of chips, pork scratchings and even l'escargot - well, Dover is in France after all.....and at the end of the evening the landlsdy sent us off to the train station armed with a bag of cheese cubes and pickled onions. Well done to the Rack of Ale. If we are playing Dover next season (god forbid) I'll definitely be heading to the rack of Ale again! Absolutely! In there after the match - great beers and selection of free chips from the chippy next door. Also big thumbs up for the Mash Tun down by Market Square (Dover's first Micro Pub I understand) - midday opener but serving at eleven! PP

Living in Folkestone I would not recommend getting accommodation to far from the ground as it is hard to get to. Getting digs in Folkestone or Dover would be best. P.s the bus prices here are extortionate I've read that you can get a taxi from Folkestone to Dover for as little as £12. I'm looking at getting a train from st.pancras to Folkestone and taxiing it to Dover. You can still get to Kearsney and Dover Priory if you go from London Victoria as that section only suffers from bustitution on the Sunday.

I grew up there too, (70's/80's) and their was a strange mix then too maybe cos the 23 bus ran from LW to Lockleaze then I started going with my old man around 78 to eastvillie some of my school friends went over the other place but I think that was to watch the more famous clubs who visited there around that time. Growing up in Avonmouth & Shire late 70s early 80s I would say the direct train to Eastville weighed the fans in Rovers favour, except for the couple of seasons the s***e were in league 1 (I must've have been a bad kid as for some reason I was taken there in that period, thankfully for some bizarre reason mostly the away end). Since we left Eastville its been much more of an even split. But there are 30 or so going for a meal & reunion for one of the games in Feb (forget which as I'm unable to attend!). We've lost a couple recently with Topper & Kev J having passed on. RIP Brought up in Shire, 1235 train to Stapleton Road, pre match beers at The Old Fox - good days. 1740 back from the platform next to the old South Wales Railway Tavern. Always remember someone had sprayed a "s" in front of the Way Out sign! Used to be a good following on the train from Avonmouth and Shire in those days.

I am not an accounts expert, but why did this change year on year?:- Impairment re shares acquired even though the contributions to the share scheme seem to be the same year on year? presumably they know how transport is booked, so can also apportion what contribution the shop makes. If transport was mostly booked on online, over the phone or at PL then the shop just seems a drag on the supporters club. As stated above there is no reason all the activities could not be done online or via PL. Its pleasing to see the financial position of the SC improve but the shop does seem a black hole. Maybe why its being flogged. It's a timing thing. Although there were identical contribution totals from the Share Scheme, there were less monthly share purchases this year rather than last and that's what drives the impairment adjustment - I guess there was a delay for some reason. It all evens out in the long run. The impairment adjustments are non-cash transactions in any case - much like depreciation. Bottom line is that, as things stand, eventually the cash will run out.

I think NR has a point, but is being as obtuse as usual. Not sure why they cant back themselves up with facts The overall loss for BRSC with all income and expenditure is 8.8k compared to 22k loss last year In real terms the loss is greater than that, as most if not all of the sales and services could have been supplied from either PL or online. Quite.
Hopefully, technology permitting (!), the following table will illustrate the point:

Im on the team. There were 10 of us there, I believe a further five couldn't make it. Apparently, around 60 people had applied. It seemed as though the people chosen had different skill sets and experience relevant to the task ahead. Which I found encouraging. As you can imagine, being the first meeting, a lot of time was spent with introductions and background history, rather than problem solving. There were 10 people, all with their own ideas and it was hard to remain focused. In trying to find a focal point, and a major category to attack, children's wear was identified as being the biggest priority. This was based on our own gut feelings as well as the feedback that has been provided by fans over the last couple of weeks on the forums and Facebook. Focusing on one area doesn't mean everything else has been forgotten and a few of us will also be looking at other areas before we next meet up in a month. I am looking into possible designs for t-shirts, which I would like honest opinions from everybody here when I have some sample ideas. I'm still open minded and hopeful that, if done well, this could be a great idea. My concern is keeping everything factual, measurable, methodical and focused. Mainly because it's such an emotive subject and there is a lot of passionate people involved. Please bear with us, it won't be a quick fix. P.S. With regards my project, does anybody know of a Rovers fan who has a screen printing business? It is my suggestion that we keep our business within Bristol where possible, and ideally with Rovers fans. I put it to Barry that some fans MAY be willing to do a good deal with BRFC for the return favour of free programme advertising/hospitality etc. I know how rumours spread so I must emphasise, this is NOT the club being cheap, this is MY suggestion, as I know if I were a owner of a business, I would be keen to help out, for a return favour I just want to take a small step in to making this a club we can feel part of.
Encouraging start.
Most comments I've heard (and would be interesting to hear if you've had similar experiences) is that people would be willing to pay a little extra for better quality - maybe something branded as a "premium range"?? Stylish, more subtly branded, high quality leisure wear as opposed to "in your face" sloganed t-shirts (which have their place too of course) - if you get my drift!
I think there is room at both ends of the market. Depends upon margins too of course.
Just a thought...
