I hope Ben Garner knows what he is doing. All the evidence suggests that he doesn't.Yep, lets hope it's me that's wrong.

I hadn't realised Ogogo was on his way. I hope Ben Garner knows what he is doing.

If GC had stayed we would've gone up As above, I disagree. His league position was fortunate and unsustainable. However, changing manager to BG before we had the chance to find out what GC (whom I never liked) could really have achieved, was abominable. Whatever went on behind the scenes to encourage GC's departure was a shoddy move. All the evidence would suggest that's a load of duck s**te

Hope so Simon (and the spine you mention is a good point) because the midfield might not be so tough, although Josh Grant can play CH or middle middle, so I assume he can stick a tackle in. The BG era is different to anything we've seen before at Rovers. He is still abit of a mystery and so he may of been slowly laying foundations, but his points return has been disastrous. Still all theory it seems and so it's natural some Gasheads (%?) are nervous about the practice. Maybe BGs recently signed Assistant will be a great plus. I can't remember a Rovers Manager- possibly - starting a season under so much pressure. The GC exit and end of a promotion challenge, quite rightly baffled and angered plenty. BGs pitiful points return and bar Sunderland, awful football. A Summer that has seen our El Presidente back him completely. There is a question mark over Ben,but I'll be cheering them on. thing is Basel, I never believed in the GC promotion bid, and I certainly couldn't put up with that style for much longer. suffering performance over results is a young mans game.I really enjoyed the games under GC, I have never really thought football has to be played any particular way and to be honest, I find the Premier League, for all it's abundance of talent, deadly dull. Gerry Francis's side had plenty of critics, especially from south of the river, I thought it was bloody brilliant!

After 'decades of under achievement and false dawns' the club is finally showing its mettle. This for me, is the best pre season on all fronts in my lifetime ( the one obvious exception being Trump's Chinese Takeway ) Infostructure, some serious cash injection, and the very astute activity in the transfer window, has been a 'breath of fresh air' The club is doing its bit and we as fans should reciprocate - Second round of season tickets are now on sale - Lets make a statement particularly as the other lot seem to be in disarray.
Toteend4 will start the ball rolling today, with a purchase of 4 season tickets - Any one else on board? UTG Bloody hell- I'd love to have some of the disarray they are in! I am really pleased lots of us are feeling so upbeat and it is kinda funny how a few of them are in meltdown over the appointment of a new manager. However, they really are light years ahead, some of them just don't seem to appreciate it all that much. But yes, after all the uncertainty of recent times, I will now be renewing my season ticket (I'm still annoyed at myself for missing the original deadline!)

There was a Banjo flag in their end at Twerton on the Second of May. I actually ended up living next door to the bloke who's flag it was, he was one of those prosecuted for trying to attack our players on the Beadle derby day, I don't think there are many of them in Banjo, but the few who are there like to make a thing of it, hence the flag.

Yes I remember the warning and from whom. Buckley's tenure potentially contributed to the relegation 3 years later. The panic but necessary appointments of McGhee and Ward to save us from relegation both times ultimately proved to be our undoing. Had we kept with OSC we may not have been 2nd bottom on NYD, pure speculation obviously. We attracted injury prone journeymen who helped send us down and each survival only papered over the cracks. It took going down for a young manager to say enough is enough and bring in hungry-only players who were not big names but who would run through walls for him. Maybe had we gone with Campbell from L2 2011 we could have had that type of player in his own mould. Conclusion: Blame Buckle for the relegation too. Who he?

Points deduction for rule breakers I assume. Obviously, although a decent lawyer will find a way around it.

Article is delusional twiddle twaddle from, “I was one of the better younger managers around at that point..." to “There was a lot of thought that went into that, and did it work? No it didn’t.” And yes, he was a tw*t, therefore he failedWe were warned by a certain forumer!

Are we? Weal is in the middle of a spending spree, but at some point income is going to have to exceed expenditure. I don't think he has sufficient money to hand over the (circa) £10m to take control of the club, deal with the training ground, and on top of that cover losses which look likely to increase above the present £3m P/A for too many years. We just need to hope that he doesn't put us in a position where losses are even higher and then he decides to withdraw his financial support, that would be very messy, like Bury messy. Here we go again, the swiss/bamber club strikes. Put a few long words in,make it sound like you know what your talking about and spread your non stop waves of negativity. I don't think Bambi is being unnecessarily negative, just cautious. There was ridiculous hysteria about what we were about to do when the Al Qadi's took over, I would have thought taking a cautious view is plain common sense.

Yes it is, I was never sure how serious it was. Whatever, Southgate getting relegated didn’t seem to harm his chances. Not sure what’s happened will do any harm to his reputation. 5 years in the PL and only looking threatened since Christmas. Bad injuries this year but a solid record over the past 5 years of playing football the right way, signing and improving some young talents, being a great man-manager as shown by most players he’s worked with and what they’ve said. EH will re-emerge at some other club soon but not before a good rest to re-charge his batteries which look as if they’ve been running low since the re-start. Badly let down by Fraser but as ever he rarely complained publicly. He’ll be ok. Next season has just become more important for AFCB! UTG! Did an absolutely incredible job at Bournemouth but I thought he has looked a broken man since about Christmas. Clearly whatever he was doing was not working anymore and he seemed jaded. There has been suggestions that he's turned down offers from bigger clubs such as Everton. Hard to see him not re-emerging. I wouldn't be writing off that England manager prediction just yet. Big moment for Bournemouth now. They have lots of advantages to think they could stabilise in the Championship quite quickly but that's a huge hole to replace and a critical managerial appointment. The wheels could come off if they get it wrong. Change Bournemouth for Rovers and Everton for Leeds and that's pretty much what happened here!

guarantee this will end up being a permanent thing in TV matches for a quick ad break hopefully this will be limited to the Premiership though - leaving us with proper football, as is traditional I lost interest what happens in the Premier League some time back and the ridiculous VAR stoppages were the final nail in the coffin. They can have 10 advertisement breaks per half for all I care these days. Grumpy Old Man

Championship now released Hi KP, how can Championship fixtures have been released when they haven't even completed their playoffs yet? The Scottish Championship fixtures were released today, I guess that's where the confusion lies.

I can only see positive threads and overwhelmingly positive posts over the last couple of months. I'd say that since the announcement that work on the Training Facility (June 4th) was about to commence, the mood has changed dramatically. Maybe I've missed something. Could you point me towards the "bad news stories"? Thanks in advance. More like ultra negative slants on good news stories, easy to find. I can't say I have seen one single 'ultra negative' post. A few of us erring on the side of caution, that's about it.

Wasn't there an issue (or maybe more) that a Blackpool's player was wage capped at maximum, but he also had a "part time job" as manager of a hotel to top up wages? In the 50s? Stanley Matthews? Even if this isn't true, I'm sure there will be many incentives for clubs to entice potential players in during ant wage cap structure....and we're back where we started a la Jimmy Hill. People find ways around rules.Just look at Citeh, putting their middle finger up at the authorities and saying 'Come after us and you'll need to go for Barca and PSG as well' and we have more money than you, so go for it if you want. The game's out of control. And this is the way of the world. From sporting salary caps, to social distancing to bribery laws. There is ALWAYS a way.

Surely this is why we've brought in Jack Mesure to help out. I think we can agree that BG was a over-whelmed/out of his depth last season with the squad he inherited. Instead of sacking him, we're sticking with him and giving him additional support. And I'll be supporting him. No negativity from me at the moment. My account has not been hacked. He had Coppell, that didn't help. I just think that players aren't interested in endless tactical discussions and theory at this level. Maybe if you are Barca or Citeh, but in L1, just keep your shape, get the ball to your danger players, work hard, don't give the opposition any time on the ball seems to be the ticket. I'm with Bambi, both in desperately hoping to be proved wrong , but utterly unconvinced by what I have seen so far, although I did miss the Sunderland game, which apparently was very good. Lets hope that was the start of something. I tend to agree re the tactics as well. Darrell Clarke's constant tinkering worked very well for a while, and then it stopped working, week after week after week. I thought what we needed then was someone to come in and keep it simple, tell players their positions, tell them who does what in set pieces and tell them if they play well, they keep the shirt. I actually thought Steve Cotterill would be ideal, but Coughlan proved to be the right man at the right time. Still, water under the bridge, here's hoping I am eating my words about Ben Garner ASAP.
