If the club are making money, great. However , I hate that kind of advertising with a passion. I do have a few eyesight problems (must be true what they say) and I find them incredibly distracting, in some cases I just cant watch a game on TV when they are being used.

OK I am back! For those of you who don't frequent gascrap here's a memory of mine from a bygone age. Back in the day a lot of you ( well the ones who are still alive and not got Alzheimer's) will have all manor of untold stories from Eastville - I start you off with one of mine Rover 5 Charlton 5 obviously a game one would remember because of the score. Anyway, apart from a gashead wearing a white butchers coat throwing metal dustbins over the top of the Tote End masses, I was 'bursting for the loo, trouble was I was completely rammed in and it would have been impossible to get to the toilet in time. I was in a panic what should I do I looked around and it all looked hopeless. I then spotted to the right of me a man wearing a very large trench coat. What caught my eye was a very large pocket -No I can't do that can I - It was like filling a car up with petrol -Fuel what a relief ! Then it was back to the three blackbirds after the game to top up again. Anyone else got a story, they would like to share, either from Eastville or0 Twerton? That the Charlton game was the only home one I missed in 3 seasons

Some would say did he have anything in the first place ? Bit harsh. toteend4 - where are you? You have a right to an opinion. If it's universally shouted down, on reflection you may think your original supposition was incorrect, or at least very poorly expressed. I think that's how it works anyway. I like both sides of an argument. I even listen to James O'Brien occasionally. He says some interesting stuff. But invariably ruins his own argument with one of his tiresome anti Jacob Rees-Mogg rants. But I still listen to him. And he's still a ***t. Man tells the truth !

Some would say did he have anything in the first place ? He'll be back. He's just off glueing pics of faces of the England Women's footballers all through the nightwear section of the Freeman's catalogue. Thanks for the tip.

He was scared witless ,never played before as many fans in his life and nerves got the better of him.I recall talking to him about that night when he was at brighton and he said he nearly gave up on football after that game, but he didn't and had a reasonably decent career .Just goes to show that you shouldn't judge a player on just 90 minutesI agree. Football fans seem to have a terrible habit of making their mind up about a player and sticking to that opinion come what may. I was at that Bournemouth game Kuipers played in and there is no getting away from it, he really did have a stinker. I'm sure given half a chance with us , he would have gone on to prove that he was a fairly solid keeper.

I am actually one of the - very few- people who seems to think Hamer comes across quite well. However, a chairman taking a holiday when the AGM is on, that is piss poor.
I just read elsewhere that is wife is ill , hence his absence, if that is the case, I apologise for the above remark.

Maybe it's because I'm short, middle aged and a bit of a liberal, but I'm beginning to think there are some right f**king weirdos on here.

That seems to read as 'everyone is welcome as long as they agree with me' Maybe if people just said that they disagree but don't try to shut down the conversation? Hitch saw this coming a good 15 years ago, a whiny American told him, in a southern droll that something he had said was 'o-fensive', Hitch replied that he was still waiting to hear what her point was.I think that's pretty standard these days with social media. Someone say's Corbyn's a ****, so someone else says Trump's a bigger ****, but no one gets around to saying why they think these people are ****!

Many thanks good feedback I Guess like the other forum its going to be 50/50 split on who likes and whos offended . I have been banned and as a consequence unable to contribute to my thread which is still live and the more recent comments less pc with an indication some are finalliy getting into the spirit. Both forums are for BRISTOL ROVERS football fans but you wonder is some are closet Bristol Bears Lugby fans. I have been watching the gas since the early seventies when football was a mans game watched by men. My take nevertheless is if they are gasheads then they all welcome no matter what age, colour, sex, politics etc etc but less bulls***e prostration from the pc's please!

November 1999, the Luton game was the first one with the roof. Oh my duck. Really? I started going to Rovers before November 1999? I really didn't think that I did. But I know there wasn't a roof. My duck. I know the close season can be a bit boring for some, but reading through 4 year old posts suggests that you may need to widen your social circle a bit

Has outed himself as Gas. I don't know why this should please me, but it does Brought up in Knowle West (according to wiki). I reckon he must be quite ard. I am pretty sure he went to the Grange in Warmley, which would be a bit odd if he was a Knowle Wester.

As I see it, Lockyer didn't cost us a huge fee, he came and played for what I imagine were reasonable but not extortionate wages, did a good job, then left. Not unlike many of us in 'normal' working life. I can't really see how he owes us anything.

Pondering getting Spurs done with a Pre-Season there against Inter, tickets will be cheaper and it's on a Sunday. Is Spurs really a new ground though? I will probably go there just because, but I cant get out of my head that it's pretty much the same place.

It's bollocks. Salford are a made up club like Fleetwood. To think they are replacing the oldest league club in the world makes me sad. I hope they go down next year with Macclesfield and Notts County and Wrexham get back in the league where they belong. All clubs are 'made up', but some have history and deep roots in the community, whilst some are just vanity projects for sad vainglorious individuals. New money doesn't go down well in this country does it. From the landed gentry having working class footballers and lottery winners as neighbours, to football fans not wanting anyone new to join 'their' club . I daresay if Wael did start to splash the cash and we made it to the promised land (stop laughing at the back), the big boys would treat us with disdain and we would accuse them of snobbery

Let us slag off one of our own. I will miss him, Sinclair and Leadbitter. All have made a great contribution. Lines was a real footballer and his greatest performance was against Chelsea, when he didn't look out of place against their players. Vision and poise. I'm not sure people are 'slagging him off', I just pointed out, that when GC came in and dropped him, we moved up the table and others have pointed out some arguments that he might not be a god like figure! I don't see why the arguments have to be so black and white. I agree Sinclair, Lines and to a lesser degree Leadbitter have all made a contribution to the club and I wish them well, but it was apparent none of those players have been close to being a first team regular recently so maybe it is best for all concerned that they move on. One thing I find very disappointing is that GC seems to be coming in for more than his fair share of stick after doing exactly the job we all wanted him to do!
