Surely it's obvious what we need, just sign any players with 'Clarke' in their name.

Lovely bloke as well, I hadn't seen him for a number of years but used to have a few beers with him in the Masons at Stapleton years back.
He went to the same junior school as me ( some time before me) and there was a picture of him in school kit on the wall and Mr Hooper would always encourage us so that one day we might 'be like Lindsay' .

Over the whole season and especially when Ollie has been played in his proper position, he would be a contender. Tom Lockyer, Millwall Tone and Jimmy C too. If we count recent months only, Holmes-Dennis and JCH have to be contenders. All my opinion and ready to be told I'm wrong by experts who write thousands of words. You're wrong.

Does anyone (i.e. Chewy!) know the paly off dates for various non league play offs? I have tried looking at Evostik websites and a few others but it really isn't clear at all (well not to me anyway) hoping to plan a few business trips around them if I can.

I now need Rovers to lose 2-1 to progress to the semi finals. Anyone know the words to the Eton Boating Song?

Judging by commentary, we could have been 3-0 down at Plymouth before we got going. That's a good point. I hate to start churning out the 'small margins' clichรฉ, but it is true. We could easily have had a hiding at Plymouth had they taken their early chances, yet most came away thinking we had seen a good performance. How on earth we beat Coventry at home this season after the start we had is still beyond me. IF Doncaster hadn't raced into that early lead, who knows what would have happened. Funny old game and all that.

Didn't see the game so can't comment, but from the highlights I thought our goals were real gems. The kind of thing you pay to see. How Clarke-Harris could pull two crackers out of the bag like that with what is apparently his "weaker" foot is beyond me. And the way he stumbled his way past all those defenders to set himself up was almost as good as the shot itself. Others would have taken a tumble for a free kick, but for him there was only one place that ball was going to end up. Great determination. Reilly's goal was straight off the training ground I reckon and the Muff defenders were mugged. A player goes wide to get the obvious pass from Clarke to cut back into the area, defenders move to cover and Clarke does a neat turn and crosses it into the gap they left. Reilly's execution was excellent because he flicked it wide where the goalie had no chance. A proper Italian job using guile, something we've been lacking up front. To be fair, Payne had a bit of guile but was too slow, got snuffed out quickly and pulled wide. GC said in an interview that they'd asked Reilly to play a bit deeper. I think he should play him as the poacher more because he has that bit of guile we need in the box and is a bit lightweight in midfield. Nichols looks more of a "jabber" to me and is better chasing around in a deeper position. As for their first goal, It looks like Bonham was pulled to his left a wee bit by the bloke's dummy. He almost got his fingertips to it though. Craig's own goal was just one of those things. He simply misjudged the flight of the ball. These things happen more often when you're struggling for points. It would be nice to have enough points in the bag with a couple of games to spare to see what this team looks like when the pressure's off. The Barnsley game could be a cracker. While the finish was sensational, it was this aspect of the goal that pleased me most. I was at the game, and it seemed at the time as if there was no way through, then seconds later the ball was in the net. I hate players going down in the area because 'they are entitled to' , maybe I am being selective in my memory, but I cannot remember seeing Clarke- Harris ever do this. Great goal from someone who is beginning to look like a great player.

I don't really know the details, I was speaking to someone from Rovers yesterday morning at the ground and was told that he had got food poisoning whilst on international duty. Retaliation by Gigg's wife, wrong bloke ate the food. Unless Tom has been a naughty boy?

Apparently his lack of involvement was due to a stomach bug. So he was sent home from the camp so that nobody else got the bug? Thanks Steve. We are certainly hard to beat right now and a lot of credit has to go to GC for instilling that team spirit. I think we can conclude that DC's constant tinkering was having a detrimental effect. In his defence maybe if he'd had J C-H rather than the Pain we'd be in a very different position. UTG. Clarke lost the plot. He would probably have started Nichols as a lone striker and sent Holmes-Dennis out on loan. He looked like he just confused himself by thinking too much about everything. As an aside. Tom not even on the bench for Wales today or last Thursday. Thanks for that Giggs. It's not as if he's some 17 year old who will benefit from being around senior players. If Rovers were the club that you and your little band of ex Utd players had an investment in you would have been honest about his chances of playing and wouldn't have denied us of him. Another reason not to like someone who would have an 8 year long affair with his own Brother's Wife. Apparently his lack of involvement was due to a stomach bug.
