Ray Mabbutt- my favourite player ! The complete midffield player, although called a "wing half" in those days. Yes, he could play anywhete - and excell. Bert Tann was the manager and some of Ray's best goals came from the "Tann Plan" free kick routine whereall the attackers would all run towards the fre kick taker dragging all the defenders with them, leaving huge spacebehind for Ray to receive the ball lofted over all their heads and head past the keeper with not a defender in sight. Lots of different Tann Plans in those days. Who remembers "shoot on sight ?"

Wycombe who are already skint will lose the income from London Wasps when they move.

Spoke to someone who works at Sainsbury earlier on. He said they are partnering with the Scandinavian discount supermarket group Netto. Allegedly 15 Sainsbury sites are being branded Netto to compete locally with Lidl and Aldi. I cling to the wreckage of what was the UWE plan in the hope the Horfield store is proceeding under a new label !

I put the money in to support the club. I am not bothered about a nil return, I imagine that at some stage in the future I'll get my capital back.

It's old news really. I hold a couple of grands worth of Prefs and got a letter signed by NH a couple of years ago saying they were suspending "dividends" to pref holders. I guess that as there are not many of us it crept under media radar.

Carey is a Sh*thead and has poked fun at us on a number of occasions. He doesn't fit Clarke's profile for a player. He would ,quite rightly, get dog's abuse at the Mem. No way is it him. My money's still on Harley.

Source... James McNamara in other words! No, have had contact with my source for the last 7 years, he's good friends with a lot of agents and players, usually reliable with on field matters, he's not involved with off field politics.

Read the post from the Grimsby fan. The first team should be kept well away from this and we should put the development squad out in every round. Would also help Marcus out in getting fringe players more game time. The focus fist and foremost must be promotion.

No, I'm not MH, I was trying to put myself in his shoes and anticipate his response had he seen the criticism. However, I am a retired director fron JCB. Cheshire Gas knows me- we worked together years ago !

Before the Sharesave scheme was introduced the club asked individuals to consider buying preference shares as a means of raiising money. I bought 2,000 shares at £1 each.these shares do not carry voting rights which might explain why I have never been invited to the AGM! Tthen again, I've never been sent a set of audited accounts ! The shares paid a dividend calculated at 3% above bank base rate. About two years ago I received a letter from NH saying they were suspending the dividend until further notice so this is not something onlyrecently introduced. I did ring the club a few years agoand asked if they could send me a set of accounts. The woman I spoke to was a bit brusque as though I had no business asking. She concluded by saying if I had any concerns they would buy my shares back! Tempted to ask them now if the offer is still there.

Great article. We really do seem to have a lot of intelligent, talented and resourceful people among the fan base. Pity the directors don't have the will, vision or inclination to harness all this for the betterment of the club - and in turn, their own enhanced status in the eyes of their customers.

LJG is exactly thevtype of "supporter"we don't want either next season - or ever. The club may be skint we can well do with losing him and his short sighted, unintelligent comments. I , Matt Harrold, seriously failed to deliver the level of performance tht I both wanted and expected to deliver last season. In mitigation, I would say that my colleagues and the management beyween them failed to provide any creativity to me throughought the season. Had they, between them served up a reasonable percentage of opportunities then I would have been confident in converting a respectable number of those "creations" to the extent that I would have scored enough goals to have enabled us to avoid relegation. Intelligent peoplevwill know the problem did not lie with me.
