Fair enough personal decision but not for me and many others
Harvey and the likes of Scudamore are the worst people for football ... it has become a product without financial discipline prime example being Sterling who is alledgely seeking an increase of 100k per week!!
The reason why we as a club are not self financing and millions in debt is not because of lack of fan support but the frankly stupid wage structure even at our level which has filtered down due to premier league

It's written as if a child. Just my view.
With respect I think you come across as childish imo
I can empathise with the OP probably same age and certainly same period of supporting Rovers
The frustration is borne out of not just watching our 'rivals' in the city progressing in all ways but the inepitude of various boards failing to deliver over many years
I assume that the OP has contributed a significant amount of his income like we all do in supporting Rovers .... think he deserves a bit more respect

What I dont understand......
You want to buy a football club maybe as a serious business proposition or sadly as a mere plaything
You check out insiders information within football and BRFC surfaces
You understand there is a very good existing fan base
A large city offering more fan potential
There is the prospect of a new stadium wanted and expected by the fans for many years
However you also know that the club is running with huge annual losses
You buy the club THEN claim that the purchase of UWE will not go ahead because of not being able to buy as a freehold concern ....understandably reducing income streams and having to meet landlord obligations
This is a banking family with many advisers readily available so why on earth did they make such a fundamental error?

I was 13 when we won the World Cup in 1966
Since then I have lost track of the amount of promises of future golden generations /we can win nexta competition etc etc all fuelled by the media and pundits
This cup has been no different ... flatter to deceive
Only beat lowered ranked teams coming up short when it mattered
The fact that there is 70% of foreign players in the premier league does not help
More critically we have a very large population .. 61 million .. Croatia 4 million so how poor must our coaching be?

What would you choose? I’d have the World Cup personally. I don’t follow prem football, I just follow rovers. However, here are my reasons: - Rovers would struggle in champ and prob be relegated - we have an attempt every year to get up the leagues. International football, there might only be 5-10 world cups before I die, if I’m lucky - I am sick to death of all my welsh, Irish and Scots mates laughing at England. I’d love to stick one to them. - similarly, it’s really fashionable to do this country down and claim we are some insignificant island (remainers mainly). I’d love us to show that We are not helpless and impotent, and we are still a force to be reckoned with. - the whole country would be ecstatic. The economic dividend and optimism will help the country get its shoulders back. - I like the story of an underdog and Gareth Southgate is that. I also like the guy, seems like a fair chap. - ditto because he missed that penalty. It would be poetic to have him win the WC. What’s your choice? Having recently turned 65 and supported the Gas and NO other team in my life for over 50 years I would take promotion over the World Cup given that Rovers have achieved very little for too many seasons !

Didn't the same agent have links with BCFC (albeit indirectly) If so very 'convenient'? If not I stand corrected and just another rumour!!

very clever player, scores goals, he will make a team very happy wherever he goes imo
moving to the vermin ? cant blame him, buisness
cant blame him, buisness Exactly! Loyalty has played no part for majority of footballers for a long time Assume he is happy living in Bristol so why would anyone not move on to another team in the same city if offered substantially more money, higher division and far far better facilities? People need to be ware that fan loyalty and player loyalty are two vastly different matters As for him as a player it was not just his goals but his link up play bringing others into the game and his work rate on and off the ball - I still miss him as a player and would have him back No one will convince me that the transfer was done ethically re buy out clause etc - Lansdown bought him to spike our play off chances and take pressure off L J at the time

Agree that progress is welcome but story line is weak ...why wouldnt the girl be allowed to go to the game?
Maybe in this overly pc world she should take Rovers to the equality comission? Ha!

Not sure it sends the correct message ... girl left at home despite being a fan?
Seems to imply you have to be a minimum height and age to attend games!
Could have been much better ... shown faces of really young fans at games interspersed with footie clips
Not getting the correct date is very unprofessional
That said good to see that a video was used

With respect I think some are missing the main reason for our shortcomings as a club without cash and heavily in debt
Football is no longer a sport but a stupid business plan touted by the Premier League, accepted by the lap dog FA and subsidised by the likes of Sky and BT
Wages are astronomical even at our level and unsustainable purely on attendances never mind higher up
It will take the demise of a club (s) to bring some reality back to the game
A good analogy is comparing the recent trend in property prices totally out of kilter to what should be sensible affordability

Lansdown signed Matty to blow away our play off chances and take heat off Johnson .... what better than to do it to your rivals
Of course what will never be fully known is how the transfer was engineered in the first place ... the F A / EFL should have investigated properly ...it stunk
SL may well also work with UWE re what was to be our Stadium project ... the bloke wont be happy until sees our demise
What else can you expect from someone who was a gashead and then switched to the dark side .. no proper football fan would or should ever do that

It is ok to speculate but i am more keen to understand the way forward in a more general sense from this board
The relationship of board and fans has stagnated after the initial 'honeymoon' period so some clarification is needed in my opinion

I think a lot of abuse whilst understandable is misdirected
Footballers over the past 20 years or more have become less and less loyal and out of touch with fans in a real sense
It is just a job to most whose main aim is to maximise their income and capital
So if you were M T working in an office and were offered instant promotion plus a huge rise in wages and being happy in Bristol would you not be tempted?
As for who engineered the move I believe there is more to it than just to blame MT ... strange that we had a chance to make the play offs ... strange about the release clause amount ....it stinks
