Deal offered but not good enough. One that got away. I always rated him last season. Him and browner linking up added a threat we just haven't had down that side this season. It's probably my recollection, but were there a couple of conflicting stories doing the rounds at the time of his departure? As I remember it, they were that the deal on offer was acceptable to the player, but was not long enough; and the fact that the player had expressed a strong desire to move back to the north to be near his family, which he did. I could never work out if he actually wanted to go, or be persuaded to stay. But as you say, one that got away. We could certainly do with him, or someone quite like him . . . budget permitting of course.

Surely we should get off the keepers back, he saved the pen, something not many rovers keepers ever do. And it wasnt him that miss 20plus chances to have won the game before half time. Ever keeper makes mistakes, who do you guys expect in goal for a crappy div4 team? if he was better he wouldnt be here clearly. When Lee Nicholls joined us on loan from Wigan, I seem to remember that someone posted on here that a friend of his had given rave reviews of the goalie's performances when he was playing for Northampton Town. Given that I really thought that we had signed a real gem, especially since the manager also seemed to be more than happy with the signing by allowing Aaron Chapman return to Chesterfield despite him doing a good job for us while he was here. In fairness to Nicholls he has had to endure a torrid time at home, playing as he does behind the other ten players. But for a goalkeeper confidence is paramount, and I believe that he has lost some (at least) of his, and unless the manager has plans to make his loan spell permanent then I can see little point in him playing in front of Steve Mildenhall.

I will ask again as I need to clear it up Do away results not count? If our records were flipped, people.would be saying we only nees to improve our away form and.promotion play offs were a real possibility Was only thinking the same. But it's home games that the majority see, it's the home games that generate the income.. . . and supposedly provide entertainment for the great unwashed, as opposed to mass frustration. It's a ridiculous concept really. Well it is in our case anyway.

I believe that I read somewhere or other, that Sunday's game was Chesham's first away win since January. If it's true then that is ''truly god awful.'' Just our luck eh? Their last game before the FA Cup tie was a 2-0 away win soooooo...... :S In that case I think that I'll have to review my reading material. Does The Morning Star have a sports section?

It was as casual/lazy a performance you could have wished for. Disappointing. The look of the Rovers bench says it all.

One humiliating result after another..... 5 wins in 8, one defeat away from home in over a year and three points off the play offs with a game in hand. Truly god awful that. I believe that I read somewhere or other, that Sunday's game was Chesham's first away win since January. If it's true then that is ''truly god awful.'' Just our luck eh?

Just in case we haven't, and that some people may well be in a more reflective mood by now, here they are . . .
Does anyone think that there might have been a reaction from Ellis Harrison in yesterdays game, after all the stick that he took in the run-up to the game that is. Or did he just have a bad 'un? As for the team's performance it might have to be a case of least said soonest mended, 'cos there ain't too much that can be done from where we are down here.

What happened the year we ‘shocked’ Derby in the cup? That's rose-tinting gone mad. Still, thanks for the laff . . . it's certainly raised my spirits no end. Time and humour are great healers it seems. At this rate someone is certain to mention our great FA Cup win over the other mob in the 1950s.

Why does the club have chaplains? I presume that this was one of the questions asked. Didn't anybody on here watch it? Your avatar makes you look it a little like Bob Crampton's older brother.

Otherwise we wouldn't have a prayer against teams at the Mem. If that's the case, we need a new 'un.

IMO Salford would kick seven bails out of our nice boys. I thought it was great to see a team who played as a unit, looked like they would stand shoulder to shoulder with one another, scored a couple of tasty goals and defended every ball like lions. I really think we would struggle against Salford, just like those unsporting ******* from Notts Cheaty did last night. UTG I wasn't able to watch too much of last nights game, but based on what I did see you may well be right, but only in a one-off cup game though. One helluva second goal though, wasn't it.

If i was a relatively young player reading this about myself its the sort of thing that would make me question wanting to stay Here here. The player is quoted as saying that he takes no notice of it all, but I would be surprised if that were true. He is human after all.

We have a fair few who attend St.Pauli games plus we have ongoing talks with Sabadell. We have the Pirates, that is very brand worthy plus GNI as an anthem ( even though I e grown very tired if it, as it is done nowadays) We have a lot of untapped potential You seem to have got the grasp of it all, KP.

I wouldn't. Sport is about prestige, not money. If I wanted to cheer on money, I'd support an oil company instead of a football team. So, let's get this right. A club like ours, who we keep being told are skint, you would turn down the money to have the perceived prestige and stay skint ? My mum used to call people like that " all top show but dirty knickers" doesn't directly translate to English but you get the drift. We could talk about the good old days when we go bankrupt eh, watching AFC Rovers. Prestige, my Arsenal lol Does that translate into English as ''all fur coat and no knickers?'' Just asking. I've lost my Polish to English dictionary.

Is it ? I don't know. I didn't see the rules to this game. You make 'em up as you goes along, don't you?

With the best will in the world I don't believe that we will ever become an ''achingly trendy'' football club, irrespective of who the present owners of the day might be. This would include any of those pesky Jeremy Come-Latelys.

This subject about a player who we are lucky to have is utter bollocks. It's high time that someone said that, 'cos it most definitely needed saying.
