It's a very strange outcome all-round. From the Bristol Post . . . Went to bed weighing 119lbs, and woke up weighing 123. About as likely as Nobby spending the night with a woman. And then Caballero wanted to fight Haskins at catchweight, ( let me guess.. 123lbs ). I bet Sanigar couldn`t believe what he was hearing. Oh, well, hopefully Haskins has a ticket for the Cotto/Alvarez fight. That should be a good un. The whole business doesn't ring true, and I'm just wondering whether Caballero had fully recovered from his ankle injury and was actually fit enough to fight. That's a more credible reason for withdrawing than putting on four pounds overnight, and then refusing to attempt to lose the weight. But doesn't it strike you as unfair that Lee Haskins, who has done nothing wrong in the run-up to the fight, has little chance of getting his hands on any of his purse? Doesn't the fact that he has accrued expenses in his preparation for the fight (trainers, sparring partners, travelling expenses, hotel accommodation for all and sundry, etc) count for anything at all? It seems unfair to me that he should have to forfeit his purse just because he refused to accept a catchweight fight.

I think we can assume Chris Robshaw is an ex England player. Oh hang on a minute, newsflash from Twickers (via BBC Sport) . . .

Are you trying to resurrect the ghost of Lord Justice Gashead, who seems to see himself as Ian Holloway's disciple on Earth, and as such will take no criticism of our Olly in whatever form it may come in. He's told me off several times now for having the audacity to speak candidly on the matter of Ian's playing and managerial careers with BRFC, but luckily for you he seems to be on an extended break at present, so it's possible that your comments won't be noted by him. But just in case, wash yer mouth out. I had a brief look at the other forum and LJG seems to be going through some sort of breakdown pmsl. I really did belly laugh at his detective work. If I ever end up getting like that, over not knowing something, I would really like to think I had decent enough friends to get me help. Ssssssssssh!! He's behind you. By the way is pmsl an abbreviation for premenstrual? I'm not too well up on these abbreviations, as you can tell.

I think we can assume Chris Robshaw is an ex England player. I think that we can reasonably assume that he's most certainly an ex-England captain for sure, and most likely (as you say) and ex-England player as well. Time for a re-think and a clear-out from top to bottom I think. This is no reflection on anyone's efforts as I'm quite certain that the players and staff have done their best, but the kindest thing that can be said is that their best efforts were misguided. But with a new coach on board, and a successful one as well, it's time to re-focus. I believe that Stuart Lancaster most certainly did his best, but it was never going to be enough, but the news of Eddie Jones appointment is exciting for the fans and potentially challenging for a number of current England players. A rare word of praise to the RFU, who I thought would drag their heels after the World Cup disaster as they always seem to, but they have acted swiftly and decisively in making this appointment . . . which on the face of it is a good one.

From today's edition of The Guardian . . .
So welcome to England, and the very best of luck to Eddie Jones.
I would imagine that he would want to move as far away from Stuart Lancaster's regime as possible, so it will be interesting to see what coaches he appoints to assist him. It's quite possible that Bristol's Steve Borthwick will land the forwards coach position, and I believe that Shaun Edwards is now out of contract . . . so that could be interesting.
Anyway, a date for the diary . . . Scotland at Murrayfield on 6 February.

So which player is it that has gone ? Isaac Pearce(?) according to a poster on the OF That's a real shame . . . and he's a striker too. But sadly there seems that there is nothing that the club can do about it, except pick up the peanuts that are on offer.

I will never go in to Sainsburys, I'd rather get food from a bin. Not just for us but for all the others they have fed about with. I personally don't believe they ever wanted to build a shop, I think they went through all this to stop their competitors getting the land. Someone told me that Waitrose had put in a bid of £22 million and it was about to be accepted when Sainsburys put in the £30 million bid. We shop at Aldi, M&S and Waitrose. I like Waitrose, although they are a little expensive. and of course good old British Sainsburys with Oman Royal family being the biggest shareholders There may well be some truth in that sentence, I think. It comes under the heading of keeping all of their options open, and it has been done by some of their competitors in the past.

Despite all that, Cureton played and scored in the first game of the next season. And then left. All part of the plot that Holloway lost that year. Are you trying to resurrect the ghost of Lord Justice Gashead, who seems to see himself as Ian Holloway's disciple on Earth, and as such will take no criticism of our Olly in whatever form it may come in. Just to give a little ''flavour'' to the whole affair, and to try to re-create things as they were at the time, Sky Sports reported . . . It doesn't seem like a particularly happy ship to me, with or without Uncle Cyrille's two-pennies' worth. And we never even got to consider any off-field unrest neither.

The memory is failing me I know, but I can't remember any run out music at Eastville, just Ray Kendall announcing the teams. I would go for Runaway at Twerton as being our first. This is very probably wrong though! I think that you may be right about the teams not running out to music at Eastville, based purely on my rapidly fading memory the teams would just run onto the pitch after a pretty lame attempt by the announcer to build the tension. But there was popular music played there, and ''Runaway'' was certainly one of the songs that was played. It was regarded as our lucky song at that time.

Traditionally it's always been unsettling for players from the lower divisions, when they start mixing with their more glamorous cousins from the higher divisions . . . and inevitably begin to compare their respective pay and conditions. According to Holloway, Beadle was trying to unsettle a couple of players (Roberts and Curo?) when he was at City. Hopefully they take it as incentive to do as well as they can for us and the rewards will surely follow. Depends on the mentality of the player I guess... From memory Jason Roberts became unsettled when his uncle Cyrille Regis, who at the time was playing for WBA, stuck his nose in quite publicly by saying that Jason should be playing at a higher level than BRFC. This appeared to have the effect of unsettling Roberts, and there are no prizes for guessing who his next club was. I'm quite certain that someone has a much better recollection than mine, but I believe that both Jason Roberts and Jamie Cureton effectively stopped scoring goals, which obviously had a very bad effect on the club's promotion bid. In any event when the club was not promoted at the end of that season, they both left quite soon afterwards.

First two names on the team sheet for me would be Taylor and Lockyear - both I believe are not 'drama queens' get on with doing their jobs in an effective and professional way ....always give 100% Matty has he critics and to some extent I can understand why but the bloke is a consistent performer, works tirelessly on and off the ball and has very good vision with some great touches Spot on.

What other circumstances? Not having a contract that allows them to walk away? Sainsbury's having behaved differently? Venus aligning with Mars? All a bit irrelevant though, isn't it? The appeals court doesn't look at the previous evidence, it looks at the judges decision and reasons for that decision, it does not retry the case. So I believe.I think that you're correct, mind you, it'll all come out in the wash. When is the hearing again?

I thought all of it was superb.Walking out to pirates of the ruddy Caribbean, now that's cheese! So everyone is happy then. Or as Basil Fawlty might have put it . . . "A satisfied customer. We should have him stuffed."
