"All fair enough, but he has had a bit of a downer on Ollie for some reason. Yesterday's performance was pretty good, not just the versatility, also, off the ball he bullied opposition players, he's done this in the past also but has had low marks because he's misplaced a few passes and we've lost the game due to mistakes made by other players. I think, based on what Steve says, he mostly watches the ball and doesn't see a lot of what happens elsewhere on the pitch. But plenty of people enjoy and value his reports, so great, no problem." Quoting Bamber. I did actually change my original mark from a 6 to a 7 for the very reason that Ollie yesterday gave his all and didn't go missing as he has on many occasions which has always been my main criticism of him. I can only report how I see the game, based on the way I like to see it played both on and off the ball. I prefer a technical footballer to a trier but appreciate you have to have a balance which is our problem in that the triers outnumber the technically gifted players. For me yesterday Ollie gave the ball away cheaply far more than any other player and all the "running off the ball" is lost if you give it away when you get it. For me we need to have one trier Ogogo in midfield and can play only Ollie or Upson if we do this and not both. We need another creative midfielder to enable us to do this and really he needs to have some pace because we totally lack pace in midfield. Because of the way I like football played I would go for Upson but can understand why others would go for Ollie Clarke. This is why I always say my reports can only be based on how I see the game. they are open to criticism and that is fair enough so I have no problem whatsoever with Bamber or anyone else disagreeing with them. in fact seeing the criticism enables me to look at a different angle whiuch surely is the point of a forum. UTG Thank you for your reports, they are excellent to read. Don’t always agree with some of your opinions, but that’s what is good about football, we can all see the same thing differently, such as Ollie Clarke yesterday. Looking forward to your reports next season

Don't know if anyone else saw this but in the pre match warm up the Charlton keeper kicked the ball a bit harder than he meant and it came down on the back of the head of one of the youngsters having a kick about in front of the west enclosure. The little lad was obviously stunned and a few rovers players came over to make sure he was ok.But the thing that struck me was the Charlton keepers reaction he ran down to the young lad and spent a few minutes with him then ran into the dressing room and came back out with a gift for the lad, couldnt see what it was but I thought it was a lovely gesture from the player Stuart Sinclair and I think THD came over to see if the lad was ok as well

Luton hopefully might have a bad day. But we will have to be 100% better in all the remaining games and have a bit of luck thrown in as well, asking a lot I know, if we don’t win on Saturday it becomes irrelevant

What’s survival? 52 points? How many more points do we need to survive and where do we predict we will get them? Is tonight in the anything we get a bonus category? IF we beat Blackpool, Bradford, Rochdale in home games we are stil ten points short of safety to be found somewhere. Remaining league games, and what I think/hope the results will be. Moved back so it could be shown on Sky. Sunderland have had to rearrange their postponed game at Accrington. Is it on telly or not? A thorough search of sky shows the other is. Tuesday 5th March 2019 Bristol Rovers v Sunderland Checkatrade Trophy Semi-Final 19:45 Sky Sports Football

Come on Mike, you know the rules no player can play for more than 2 efl teams in 1 season and as payne has already played for shrewsbury that is the limitation of where he can go, It is a different case with Holmes-Denis in as much as he has only played for rovers this season so theoretically he can go to another league club Firstly I was unaware Payne had played for Shrews this season secondly honestly that is news to me that a player cannot play for three EFL clubs in the same season when did that rule come in ? Can be registered to a third club but can only play for two in the same season So theatrically he can move on and register with a third club but won’t be able to play for the third club this season.

Payne is with us at least until the end of the season. The only club he can join is Shrewsbury, cannot play for anyone else in the EFL How do you know that ? Have you seen his contract or are you his agent ? I would suspect some Conference Clubs would be interested in Stefan....Salford City or Barnet or Dagenham & Redbridge perhaps.
So does this also apply to Holmes Dennis he can only return to Huddersfield Town ?
Certainly not seen anyone’s private contract or not anyone’s agent in the football world. Lincs Blue explained the reason why Payne cannot be shifted in the EFL this season except back to Shrewsbury This has been common knowledge for weeks if not months

“I'm not sure if the Payne news is good or bad” what Payne news is that? Reading between the lines his post match interviewed hinted that Payne had withdrawn himself from the Oxford squad and GC did not know what the club protocol was which indicates to me Payne needed a legit reason to pull out and maybe his days at the Club are numbered now the January transfer window is soon to open.
Maybe lining up a straight swap for Stockley at Exeter City they can have Payne and Nichols !

Lockyer MoM at Plymouth, Harrison was good when he came on at Plymouth and they could not handle him, it would be stupid to play without them. I always thought if you had two players called for internationals you had the option of having the game postponed if it clashed. Why should the Premier and Championship not play and clubs below them with smaller squads be forced to play if they have two or more players called up.

Simple solution close the turnstiles/gates 20 minutes before the kick off, anyone arriving later does not get in. Most fans would conform to this, anyone wishing to have a drink before the game could go the pub 20 minutes earlier and have the same time drinking.

Clearly Easter is not fit, should be by now. He has no pace, albeit can produce a quality pass once or twice when given time. maybe better in midfield, defiantly not quick enough to be a striker, we have two other strikers who also have very little pace and very little physical presence.

Strikers can't take all the blame when they are two players expected to use up all their energy chasing 4 players around. We allow the better teams to build from the back instead of pushing players forward to help win the ball. This would be my only criticism of DC in that it is the same fault everytime we play a decent team in the League or if we play a better team in the cup.We pay them too much respect and allow them to pass from the back which is exactly what they want to do. We sometimes need to get up and go at em and impose our game on them. We have for a number of years given so called better teams to much respect. As for Easter, he has never looked match fit to me, or if he is match fit he has very little pace.

Was it Saints or Town we played yesterday? Having said that, most of the grabbing, pushing, puling, would have been penalised in rugby. I've read elsewhere of people impressed by Cresswell - he might have won his headers, but he frequently sliced his clearances, and came out on top in his tussles as the referee let him get away with everything. It was ironic that the only yellow card they picked up was when Sincs ran into the fullback and threw himself to the ground. Just when you thought we'd escaped the rubbish referees ... We might have missed two one-on-ones, but I can't take the victory away from NTFC : far more shots than us, and corners - our only one came in stoppage time. A very stupid booking, I am afraid Sincs clipped the Northampton player from behind, mandatory booking these days, then there were far worse fouls with no cards given. Overall NTFC deserved their win
