Having Watched the Sky replay of the game i attended yesterday, i could have sworn Ray Wilkins was on the pitch with all the sideways/back passes that Mr Easter played yesterday
The man clearly is not fit so why play him when we have a perfectly fit Billy Boy Bodin to replace him

Or use Easter as a striker rather than support to an average 5th tier centre forward.

Clearly Easter is not fit, should be by now. He has no pace, albeit can produce a quality pass once or twice when given time. maybe better in midfield, defiantly not quick enough to be a striker, we have two other strikers who also have very little pace and very little physical presence.

Bliss hardly doing much at Tranmere either so hope to see someone in by Sat.Will be coming down but no goals in last two games suggests we don't have a lot up front to give me hope we'll score a hatful.

Not sure what's happened to Bliss as he played in their previous game when they scored twice but didn't even make the squad on Saturday?
If you search for Blisset & Tranmere he just refers to him failing to score an equaliser from a couple of yards in a previous match!
DC's ability to sign good strikers is becoming aconcern as so far, from memory, it's Taylor, While, Cunnington, Golding(?), Wall, Blisset & Easter plus Bodin none of which seemed capable of scoring regularly, or in some cases actually scoring, other than Taylor, who's now suddenly developed a tendency to fall over.

We had to give Ellis & Taylor a chance after their great efforts last season. Easter is a proven striker but not yet delivered for Rovers. I expect, sadly, to see Blissett sacrificed (probably to Grimsby) in the hunt for the elusive goal machine we all desire to sign. It's not as if they are as rare as rocking horse s*** is it, in fact name me a club who are not looking for one.

the name of the game when we went down to 10 men was to try to retain possession to stop oxford exploiting there extra man advantage, easter dropped deep and passed the ball to a rovers shirt time and again, with others he did very well to keep us in the match. we missed some chances and were denied a certain penalty when 10 v 10 which cost us. by the way ray wilkins would walk in any rovers team that ever played football

Perfectly sensible to keep possession and take the pressure off the defence, when you are a man down.

Anyone who thinks Easter played bad doesn't understand footfball tactics. When you have 10 men you need to retain possesion which he did perfectly better than when we hooded it up to Taylor who was marked by 2 big CBs. Some rivers fans always need a scapegoat.

I'm genuinely baffled by this thread and people comments about Easter. I thought he was superb on Sunday, my man of the match.
His main aim when we went down to ten men was to keep possession, whilst linking midfield with our attack. He did this excellently. In fact he was all over the pitch, picking up loose balls, linking play and keeping things ticking over. Footballing wise, along with Lines he is miles and miles ahead as the best player at the club. We need to find a partner who can play off of him. Easter has never been prolific in his career, but he is exceptional at League 2 level at all other aspects of the game.
His fitness is getting better and better each game. He starts each time for me.

Are you saying that big name players that come to Rovers become lazy? You might have a point there.
What about the numerous Rovers teams that didn't play football?

Yeah, but usually it's AFL Queensland football operation manager Craig Millar

no it was just that the op suggested easter was passing back and square like ray wilkins did and i was thinking i wish we had a 30 year old ray wilkins in the team right now. i dont think easters been lazy at all to be honest, not sure other bigger names have been lazy with rovers?
