Early next month, we are likely to lose two players - Harrison and Gosling - assuming that they're called up by their respective nations. If Wales U-21's haven't missed Lockyer's performances this year, and summon him, we might be three players light. In the last round of internationals, Notts County called off their game with Crawley Town. (They played the rearranged match this week; the Magpies won 4:1). Link to Notts Co postponement
"Roy Carroll (Northern Ireland), Mawouna Amevor (Togo) and Rhys Sharpe (Northern Ireland under-21) have been called up for their respective squads, with Elliot Hewitt taking his place on the standby list for the Wales’ under-21 side". Notts County were notified of their call-ups on 24th August, but were successful in getting the game - originally scheduled for 5th September - called off, just over a week before it had been due to take place. Wales U-21 and Gibraltar fixtures in early October clash with the home games against Wycombe on the Tuesday night in the JPT and again on the Saturday in League 2. Wales U-21 have further fixtures in November, which would clash with Carlisle at home in League 2. Do you think Rovers should soldier on without our international players, or try to get our games re-scheduled?
The relevant fixtures are: Wales U-21: - Friday, 9th October 2015 Denmark Away Aalborg
- Friday, 13th November 2015 Armenia Home Bangor
- Tuesday, 17th November 2015 Romania Home Wrexham
Gibraltar: - Thursday, 8th October 2015 Georgia Away Tbilisi
- Sunday, 11th October 2015 Scotland Home Faro
Rovers: - Tuesday, 6th October 2015 Wycombe Home JPT
- Saturday, 10th October 2015 Wycombe Home League 2
- Saturday, 14th November 2015 Carlisle Home League 2

Its irrelevant. If three or more players are called up, you can have your game postponed. If it is less, you can't.

I don't think we'd miss Harrison or Gosling much, they are no better than what's in the squad already that will come in and take there place.

So you would apply to get the Wycombe League game postponed if we would otherwise have to play without Lockyer, Harrison and Gosling? I ask because some might press on regardless; perhaps because of a good run of form, or preference for a Saturday game versus Tuesday games, etc.

Despite what West country thinks, Ellis is our biggest goal threat so we'd miss him, Gosling is starting to feature more often, and Lockyer is arguably our best defender already.

We are lacking bite up front as it is and also playing Wycombe twice, I a short space, I think it would be the right decision

Yeh but this is Westcountry who wanted to rip up Ellis' contract.

Lockyer MoM at Plymouth, Harrison was good when he came on at Plymouth and they could not handle him, it would be stupid to play without them. I always thought if you had two players called for internationals you had the option of having the game postponed if it clashed. Why should the Premier and Championship not play and clubs below them with smaller squads be forced to play if they have two or more players called up.

I don't think this counts for U21 call ups

Part of me says postpone it, but on the other hand, having one defender dropped probably would force DC to try a different tactic (either that or a back 3 of Parkes, Clarke and Macca, very low mobility) and maybe something good comes of it.
Again, it's only a hypothetical. I'd probably end up postponing anyway

I can't see its a bad thing calling off the 2nd Wycombe game as playing them again once is bad enough playing them twice in week a shocker, particularly if they beat us in both games!
Although with McChrystal fit again and Blisset plus Lucas back at the club I assume we could cope without the internationals?

No chance - the BOD require the match income too much

At one time I would've agreed with you, but am happily made to eat words and be proved wrong. Gos has arguably stepped in to a versatile, hardworking, creative role and Ellis clearly thrives on super sub option.. So I think both will be huge loss against tricky opponent.
