Steve Hamer doing a press conference at 4pm. Assuming the Al Qadi's are out of the country. If that is true then I believe it is pointless creating more threads/comments until this happens.

But can you guarantee that a new stadium will bring more fans? the answer is no you cannot you only have to look at darlington and can you guarantee that we will get in increased revenue from said new stadium don't forget we are in competition with ashton gate that has a long tradition of attracting outside finance and they wont sit back and give rovers a free run at any outside sources of revenue so the claims are suppositional at best and pie in the sky at worst. The only guaranteed income is through the turnstiles and income derived via the same sources as we have now Can't guarantee a new stadium will bring more fans but if we go up imagine playing the bigger teams at home. If we had a bigger stadium we would be able to maximise the large away support from these teams plus the bigger home support as well = bigger revenue / hopefully better players . And yes we could challenge City on the outside source front. Anyway what has this got to do with Mathew Godden signing ?

I went to the home game that season. I believe we lost one nil. I too went to that game. My outstanding memories are that Coventry played in green and black vertical striped shirts, and that it absolutely bucketed down the whole of the game. I thought they played in all red.

Forget Hamers interview -- I would like to hear what DC has to say.

DC also said we would have 2 signings in today. He also stated Puddy was on the bench at the weekend because Hedges had not been that good in the game he played in. So I expect Puddy to be on the bench again on Sat and DC to eat humble pie and tell Easter its all been a mistake and he is in the first eleven. Or maybe Hamer will play up front.

In fairness to DC he has done exactly what I was expecting this window.

With two centre backs injured will we have enough players to put out on a Saturday if you include seven subs ? What about injuries ? Is anyone else coming in ?

I totally agree with Trunky -- Its not like we haven't known we've needed a new goalkeeper. And after the match at Charlton we also need further recruitment to keep us in this division. I thought Clark had already had this sewn up weeks ago -- Maybe I was wrong.

If anybody thinks Mildenhall is the answer -- We have a bigger problem than I thought.

All i'm going to say is if Harrison is the answer we must be asking the wrong question. And I don't think Gaffney is the answer either. Perhaps Gaffney is not, but we won't know unless he gets the sort of extended run in the side Ellis is currently enjoying, Harrison must be outstanding in training. I honestly believe this is the major area that needs to be addressed in January.

better for what exactly ? greasy Joe's burgers maybe but not the football...hated going there a real ++++ hole.30 mile round trip to get soaking wet stood out in the enclosure ...poor ground ...still is It was far superior for football, one league win and four Gloucestershire Cup wins tell us this was a stadium built for gas success, longevity and beauty. Has any other stadium averaged silverware every two years in our history? No way. Twerton is our Mecca. Did you ever go to Eastville ?

Not in my eyes. Twerton was an awful ground compared to the Eastville I remember.

Quartered one looks very smart -- Yellow one looks like any other. Why do people persist in saying " Home" or "Away " shirts. Surely the quartered blue & white one should be worn at all times with the Yellow one only for change when the other team is wearing a shirt with blue in it. In my day it was simply the "change " strip not away.
Anyway why should I care -- Have'nt bought a replica top for over 20 years.

If we don't sign a new keeper I think we are in for a very hard season. Mildenhall was very slow last season -- I don't think he will get away with it this season.

Relegation would be a bigger disaster.
