I did not like that interview at all. Arrogant and condescending:
Players choice. There was a clause. Came as a surprise. Surprised at his choice of club. Player adamant he wanted to go.
Don't need to replace him. We score enough goals. Ellis got 4 the other day. Bodin is on fire.
We were not in for Miller. McBurnie chose Posh. Nobody coming in.
Expects a playoff challenge.
In short, it was a Nick Higgs interview.

I did not like that interview at all. Arrogant and condescending. I didn't think the interview held much cause for positivity but I detected absolutely zero condescension or arrogance. I thought his choice of tone was suitable for the situation but just lacked any good news.

I agree 100% with Astafjevs. It is never easy to deliver bad news but the interview was appalling and I made the same parallels with Higgs. Wael comes across as extremely charming and warm - Hamer as arrogant and condescending.

Not gonna say I told anyone so, so I'll just say I'm not surprised.

We've got our rovers back. Luck & chemistry back with a bang, yet another piss poor window, we needed 2 new players before Taylor left, that was then upped to 3 new players, and we end up with nobody.

Don't know what else they could do really, if the bid went in Saturday, then Mt said on Monday he was going to see 'what was offered' that only leaves a limited amount of time to chase players, when other clubs know you've lost your star striker and ramp the price up. McBurnie chose to go to Peterborough, not in are control and at the end of the day slating the strikers we have left makes a amazing sense, he is bound to big them up. Would put money on the fact James, Harrison, Gaffney and maybe even Lucas see this as the time they can prove themselves. If we tighten up at the back as long as Bodin and Co keep chipping in nothing to suggest it will dry up. we will still be competitive, next month was challenging with or without Taylor I'm no more worried then I was on Saturday. Give them a chance 9 more points and that's safety more or less anything else is a bonus for the first season back.

I wonder if DC now regrets getting in 3 centre-backs in the window? All a bit of a farce. Badly handled and the first real low point since Feb 19th 2016. So I guess that is a pretty good run...

Gaffers and James don't count as they are non scoring strikers.Hope we do get someone in before deadline closes as an injury to BB or Ellis would mean we have no-one else who can score .

We needed players before Taylor left. Blaming the timing of the deal is just an excuse.
I was told it was a done deal at lunchtime yesterday. Presumably they knew before I did. That's a day a half they had, ignoring the previous 29 days.
Of course he wasn't going to criticise our remaining strikers. But that doesn't mean "we score enough goals" isn't incredibly annoying when we lose 50% of our games as it is we've just sold the chief source of goals cheaply.
Mr Hamer seemed to think "poor us, nasty Taylor went to City, but we'll be fine" was all we needed to hear. I wanted a bit more.

The strikers I remember us "panic buying" on deadline day as replacements for Roberts and Stewart aka Micky Evans and Justin Richards were both highly rated, but we're both s**t for us. I would rather wait and get the right player than make those mistakes again.

"Fans will say he should be replaced but tell me why, we have a lad that scored four the other day" was condescending. He spoke that line with as much positivity as any other part of the interview, it was almost jovial. He was making a statement that our problem has been defending, which he is absolutely right about. His statement about Ellis I find a bit daft but what would you like him to say or do in this situation!? Whether this was Hamer or Wael or Higgs or DC, they had a difficult interview to take and all things considered, I think it was negotiated with the minimum of fuss or outrage and showed a graciousness on our club's part. But I guess you can't have it all.

Secondly, can anyone tell me what Hamer actually does please? The owners seem to have a team of experts sorting out the stadium, the football side of things has been on an upwards curve since before he arrived, this was his first moment to stand up and show what he's made of in terms of communication, and frankly, a 10 year old could have scripted those feeble platitudes. Higgs would have (quite rightly) got torn to shreds for that. No doubt the 'old guard' sycophants will be loving this, knock yourself out guys

Thing is this has completely covered up the fact we didn't get another keeper or left back in, which even with Taylor gone would still be my top priority. Plus surely Taylor replacement was/is Luke James so now is the time to truly see what he has to offer.

Even if we say DC and the board found out about Matty's intentions TWO weeks ago - if the right players are not available at the right price, what do you expect them to do? Magic up some players from nowhere?
