Reading comments like this -- I firmly believe at least half the people on this forum are not Rovers fans at all. Are you a Wael and Joey worshipper or a Rovers supporter George ? First and foremost a Rovers supporter. But also support what Wael & Joey are trying to achieve.

As the club sinks further into the mire the architects of our decline are worshipped as heroes by the most vociferous section of the fan base. “We are so lucky to have Wael” “We are so lucky to have Joey” In years to come, when someone has the task of analyzing what happened at Rovers, the services of a very good behavioral scientist will be needed. Reading comments like this -- I firmly believe at least half the people on this forum are not Rovers fans at all.

Probably not the USA. Strangely enough my son, 16 at the time, was on a school soccer tour to the Netherlands , played at a venue where Newcastle United Reserves were training and actually met and had his photo taken with B*****. He also met one of our forum posters, Dutch Gas, during the same trip.
Joey B***** and Nile Ranger denied visas for Newcastle's US tour
Press Association Wed 13 Jul 2011 11.38 EDT Joey B***** and Nile Ranger will both miss Newcastle United's pre-season trip to the United States after being refused entry visas. The pair will instead travel to Holland with Peter Beardsley's reserve team squad and rejoin their senior colleagues on their return to Tyneside. B***** was denied entry due to his six-month prison sentence for assault and affray in 2008, while Ranger served an 11-week sentence in a young offenders institution when he was 15 after he took part in a street robbery. B***** said in a statement on Newcastle's official website: "Unfortunately, I was denied my visa due to my past. "I regret not being able to travel with the club on this trip, but at the same time, I don't expect to be treated any differently or more favourably than anyone else in a similar situation. All I can do is continue to improve as a person, which is what I intend to do. "Again, apologies to all the NUFC supporters – as well as the fast growing legions of football supporters in the United States who I was looking forward to meeting. I will see you in the future." He later said via Twitter: "They told me am not allowed in until I have 5yrs without any trouble. 3yrs down, 2yrs to go ..." Newcastle will play three games in America, against Sporting Kansas on Wednesday 20 July, Orlando City three days later and Columbus Crew on Tuesday 26 July. B***** and Ranger will instead feature in the reserve games against Hollandia, FC Utrecht and Almere City. The USA are very particular and have very sound rules for who they allow to have an entry Visa. Something I have always wondered why the UK has never adopted, as we appear to allow just anyone into our little Island. Totally agree with you Knowall. At least we could have stopped Trump ever visiting our great island.

We seriously must be in the s**t if people think having DC back is a good thing. Just remember the good things he did before it went tits up. He completely lost it at the end. Remember going to Charlton and the team he put out that day was laughable. Some people have short memories.

It’s clearly a very thinly veiled dig at me and others in the “why don’t you f*** off to Ashton mould”. On that note, it’s time for me to bow out. My days of travelling the country supporting Rovers are over. I feel like Bristol Rovers in the social media age is not the same club as the one I grew up with. The D.C years were a rare highlight but the camaraderie and feel good factor that was built up has dissolved into in-fighting both inside the club and amongst the fans. It’s a husk of what it was and it’s no use me hanging around and complaining about what it’s become. It’s not going to change under Wael, people don’t want to hear it and there are more productive things I should be doing. Just please try and be more tolerant of other people’s views Best regards to all You say you used to travel all over the country in the good old days. Well i guess you are referring to the 1970's when loads of us used to travel -- Some actually causing mayhem and violence . The taking of ends , punch ups everywhere. Is that how you wished it was still like ? I guess not. The only problems i see today are on the Internet forums and if you can't get your head around that -- Maybe its time to find something else to do in your life.

This forum was for " All things Rovers related " With the large amount of loathsome posts on here nowadays it should be renamed " All things Rovers hated " In all my years of reading forums and especially this forum I've never seen so many detestable posts as I've seen over the last few months.

Tisdale will have saved us I am convinced but was not given the opportunity. Note the date, Guzzlers, for today's the day I agree with Mike. The worst thing that happened this season was the sacking of Tisdale before anything he was trying to improve could possibly be fully realised, after it is alleged (by credible sources) that Tisdale's performance had been hampered anyway by other staff undermining him. 2020-1 should have remained the Garner-Tisdale season, with 2021-2 the Tisdale season. This Garner-Tisdale-B***** 2020-1 sackathon has been an absolute Presidential disaster for which Al Qadi should hang his head in shame. That was only the second thing that was right. Tisdale should have signed a Centre Forward -- Why did'nt he ? The man was a complete flop and as MK fans have already stated had no experiance of managing in the Third division. And when i say right . I mean both Garner & Tisdale were sacked for the right reasons. The failure to sign an adequate strike force and that is why we are going down. Sorry nothing to do with JB.

I'm still awaiting a credible reality replacement suggestion if JAB out..... ? It would be interesting to know who if anybody applied or was interviewed after Tisdale's departure. It sounded like we went all out for one target and agreed to all of his demands. With the current squad I would replace from within, Widdrington and Maher until at least the end of the season. (I would have done this as soon as Tisdale was sacked) I bet the results wouldn't be any worse and they wouldn't constantly blame the players for damaging their CV's. So you would replace JB with possibly the 2 biggest problem people at BRFC. Can't believe what i am reading. The current problems are from within and you want to replace him from within -- Look Steve you are on the wrong forum. You need to go back to OTIB.

No wonder Rovers are going no where -- Reading a lot of the posts on this topic and the New manager we are stuck in a bloody time warp. Forget the family club motto, Time to be a little bit nastier/tasty. It seems a lot of fans on this particular forum are too nice and would be happy to have a little 4th division club playing in a sub standard stadium/ground.

Best 11 I've seen, if all fit (when they played in our team) to play would be.. 4-4-2: Nigel Martin. Vaughan Jones. Stuart Taylor. Steve Yates. Michael Smith. Mickey Barrett. David Williams. Ian Holloway. Billy Bodin. Paul Randall. Marcus Stewart. Subs.. Timmy Carter. Andy Tilson. Terry Cooper. Alan Ball. Geraint Williams. Ricky Lambert. Barry Hayles. I think he means picking players from the current squad -- But yes I would go 442

Been many times to Blackpool. First game a 4 - 1 win I believe in 1976. Wilf Smith played for Rovers.

Remember him breaking his leg at Ashton Gate. If he had hit Chris Crowe he would have killed him. Instead he missed him but went straight into the railings.

Oldham were by far the worst team I have seen since being back in the Third.

I am not sure if I am unduly critical but the late winner on Saturday has papered over some cracks...we have struggled already against Posh, Fleetwood and Walsall at home to actually dominate as a home side should. Love him or loathe him I felt bringing on Ellis on Sat was to help us defend a point not win the match. The unexpected loss of Slocombe and despite the plaudits given to the inexperienced French keeper who frankly had a good deal of good fortune on his side we struggled to compete with the slick passing Saddlers midfielders. A lack of a natural left winger and competent striker will in my opinion hamper any serious play off chances. Nichols, Harrison and Gaffney are not regular goalscorers. Bodin is by far our most potent striker and opponents will soon realise that. Leads and Brown look poor at times going forward while our goals conceded column is one of the worst in the four divisions. The visit of the Latics will give DC selection problems...no Slocombe, Smith, Sinclair or J Clarke. I am unconvinced as to the contributions of Moore and Burn. Lets hope Oldham are as bad as their current league position suggests. You have stated exactly as I also believe the current situation to be. I actually think opposing managers have already worked us out and we were extremely lucky to come away with all 3 points on Saturday. God forbid we if went up this season with this squad. With regards to Oldham I think with their recent investment they will be soon climbing the table but hopefully not before next Saturday. We are a middle of the road Third div team at best.
