KS has said he is over it. Im my opinion no one won out of the KS bannings so do we really want to keep throwing salt on the wound? This thread has not been locked so as long as no persoanl abuse is hurled then discuss what you wish but it's old news and not something that should be clogging up the main forum topics. Clogging up the main forum? Sorry Jeff, but that is nonesense. It is the closed season and the posting traffic is less than a quarter that of during the season. KP, who we know is a passionate individual reflected on a conversation (I presume online) that he had with a prominent individual in Rovers recent history. It in no way constituted an attack, yet more than one mod has chosen to instantly close down or anchor threads on the matter. The second thread that I started was locked - yet broke none of hte forum rules. This one has been anchored now and I can't see a genuine reason why. Having participated in the original Facebook discussion (which was actually debating the merits of Barcelona and their Qatari funding) this is not strictly true. The question was then asked out of the blue by KP of someone else as to when they would watch Rovers again. It was not really relevant to the discussion that was taking place. That person and a couple of others (myself included) re iterated that as long as the ban on KS is in place at the Mem, we won't be going. As KS lives in Devon these days going to Exeter isn't really that silly. When I lived in Leicester and Ipswich in the past I went to their games at times. That KP has decided to put a day on the sauce with his mates as a higher priority than the long term sustainable future of the football club is entirely his perogitive, and I totally respect that. It really is time to draw a line under all of this and move on. The mates I used to go with and drink in the Welly are no longer there regularly anyway. That some of us don't go to games at the moment does not mean we are no longer fans.

What I will say is over £10,000 in a matter of hours is something else. Reminds me of the time we had a successful donation scheme that they tagged another somewhat hilarious word on to. I think you spelt 'scam' incorrectly...

It's that pillock Carstairs again. That bears all the hallmarks of his obsession.

William Gerrish was the name of my great grandad, though he died in 1967, not long after I was born. I've got a feeling he might be related to the William Gerrish mentioned in the article. I'll ask my mum this weekend if she knows anything.

Sorry, but while a certain person remains banned from the Mem I won't be there.
Principles can be a real s**tter sometimes...

There was a bloke working out of a shopping trolley in Kingswood Shopping Centre today doing a roaring trade in bar scarves and flags.
None of that half and half scarf bollix either.
If he can do it surely it is a missed opportunity for the club.

I'm not.... I vowed I wouldn't go to another 'live game' whilst the current Board were in place and I stick with that. As I said in another thread ...they have backed DC well with players in this season and that has restored some faith though but i'm no glory hunter or hypocrite and I will instead watch and cheer them on BT sports with my family. We are and always will be a ROVERS family. Hard to explain to a nine year old who adores his team and I have honestly had sleepless nights over it since well before the last game of the season but I knew it could happen when I made the call a year ago and I am a man of principle. I'm just hoping that Father and son will get another chance one day to see the Boys at Wembley under a different set up. Pretty much exactly the same as my position (plus a certain ban that is still in place). Plus the fact that it realistically is an 80 quid day before any refreshments.

We go in from Ickenham Tube Station, easy to get to, easy to park, 20 mins on the tube to Wembley. Me too, always park there for NFL games. Really cheap on a Sunday as well.

The Lord Mayor in his wisdom has decreed that each Sunday in May the Portway will be closed. This on Sunday afternoon with a 12,000 crowd at Ashton Gate and another 11,500 crowd at the Mem.
This is likely to bring the City of Bristol to a standstill in my view on Sunday. It's not. The first time the Portway is closed is at the end of May.

Currently a large group (70/80) travelling to Spain for the last match against Osasuna. Flights and hotel booked! Any more details?
Was it organised by the SC?
It seems very low key.
It was all over various Rovers related Facebook groups for at least 6 months.

Why is Merton so offensive? 90.200.*.*** London Sub district Merton. Not offensive to me, but IP address in close proximity to Barnet. Actually the borough of Merton is in South London, it's where Wimbkedon want to return to. Yours pedantically... OP is still an absolute belter though.

Sorry but the man flouts democracy and public opinion. He's 'anti-car', so rather than deal with the problem by creating alternative transport all he can come up with is, against a barage of outcry and against the will of the majority, charging people to park outside of their own homes, and at the same time doing massive harm to businesses who provide a service at the home of a client. Care to justify the small fortune wasted renaming The Council House? The man is power crazed and dangerous. Convenient for you that you aren't funding his ego trip...... Erm, eh? I think it's because you don't live within the city boundaries. I do, and Ferguson has been an utter disaster for anyone who doesn't live in BS2 or BS3, his enclaves in Stokes Croft & Bedminster (Southville is a made up area IMHO). 20 mph zones and RPZ areas are fine in principle, but you never use the stick without offering a carrot at the same time. And the public transport in Bristol is still an absolute disgrace. This has to be sorted before the anti motorist policies are implemented. Plus he has appointed the vile Radice as a deputy mayor. As Ferguson was voted in on a tide of 'Anyone but Labour' second preference votes to beat Marvin Rees, I will vote for whoever has the best opportunity to get this self centred, egotistical clown out of office.

Cheers Fatherjackhackett.
Is it near the train station? Yeah. Cross the road at the old station entrance, walk past the Wetherspoons and Yates and it is at the end of that road.

Try the Lamb. Do a cracking selection of beers, and have Stowford on tap. Plus their food is excellent. Definitely got BT sport as well.

Just read that Mangotsfield are offering a free pint at half time in the Macclesfield game to Rovers ST holders. As well as this Rovers ST holders can get in to Cossham St for a fiver. And accompanied under 16s get in for free anyway.

It was under Grayson but it was the year after we finished 91st I think. That seems to ring a bell. It was the Rammell year, and Rovers were safe the Monday before. The year Halifax went down the last game was Rochdale away.

There is only one question (in two parts) that really needs asking. How does the MSP loan affect the Stadium if we can build it and what if we can't? So I assume you will be there to ask the question as you cannot expect others to ask when they have their own questions. Were you born sanctimonious or did it come with practise?

A number of reasons.
I really do think that £18 on the day for 5th tier football, or £16 in advance, is staggeringly expensive. I can pay for two people at the cinema for that price. Going back to Eastville days, entrance to the Tote End was a heck of a lot cheaper than the Concorde cinema down the road. And that was in the old second division.
The Mem is no longer fit for purpose. I have been to Ashton Gate to watch Bristol rugby (for £15), as I used to at BS7, and really am impressed by the 'match day experience' there. Also, in my late 40s, petty tribalism no longer floats my boat. As a veteran of Eastville and Twerton the songs are pretty generic and unoriginal these days.
I am another one who will not set foot in the Mem until a certain ban is lifted. I just find it totally unjust and unfair. Along with this I stuggle to see why incompetent buffoons like Higgs and Watola, along with useful idiots such as Masters & BSS, are not just tolerated by the masses but revered by some.
Finally, and most importantly, my mates no longer go. I miss the whole day out, from opening time in the Welly through to staggering out of Sorrentos (or whatever it's called these days) at late o'clock.
