After reading the thread about the City advertising in the B.Post and spending £ '000's I thought I would advertise my club for free......so,
Home match at Lodge Road on Saturday ....Yate Town vs AFC Totton k/o 3pm.......and here's the sweetner for you guys.....Bristol Rovers vs Macclesfield will be showing in the clubhouse beforehand 12.30pm k/off.
So come on down and have a look at another level of the non-league pyramid.....see if you notice any difference in quality, lol, support Rovers , support Yate , ( after all hundreds of Yate folk support Rovers every week !!) have a couple of pints maybe.......only £8.50 entry.....How can you say no to that??
Come On You Bluebells......Up The Gas !

Can you put the kick off back a bit? Macclesfield is quite a drive away.

Ha ha..... Depends how fast you are prepared to drive. Maybe I should have put 'for the attention of those Gasheads not travelling to Macclesfield ' in the title as I suspect there may be a couple or three who won't go......and they would be more than welcome at Lodge Rd.....

Or Get down to Mangotsfield who have a local derby with Clevedon on Saturday and better screens to watch the game on. I like going to Yate but the club house and ground is better at Mangotsfield.

There you go ...Yate or Mangotsfield ...You have choices!!
Mangotsfield fans are mostly sh*theads though and Yate are mostly Gasheads so you'll be in better company at Lodge Road, plus they play on a cabbage patch and one corner post is level with the crossbar whereas at Yate we have a beautifully flat , wide pitch ( one of the widest in Non-league and above) which lends itself to some lovely , expansive passing football. We have a couple of new flat screen T.V's in the newly painted clubhouse and we have a lovely ground on the edge of Yate with a couple of small terraced and seated stands with great views of the surrounding countryside, unlike Mangotsfield's ground which looks like a derelict shanty in one of Rio's worst favela's.
I'm not at all biased btw!

I'm not at all biased btw! Well, excuse me sir!!! Watching Mangotsfield a couple of weeks ago they had, in their team, Lewis Powell Neil Arndale Matty Groves Lewis Hogg
A certain ex director of BRFC is a regular there along with other (who I don't recognise) shirt wearing gasheads.
Like I said I like going to Yate, but the ground and clubhouse is not as good as Mangotsfield, but it is harder to park there than the large car park (mud bath) at Yate.
But, we should support local football when not attending Rovers, home or away.

I'm not at all biased btw! I've run the line numerous times at Lodge Road, as well as brought teams there as a coach, seem to remember it being mostly sand. Hope its improved!
That's said I've also helped organise cup finals there, and always received great hospitality. So I'd be tempted, if they hadn't just sacked my old colleague Rob Cousins as manager...

Why would anyone want to go to Macclesfield now ....it sounds lovely at Manor Farm but I probably should have mentioned the Golden Eagles that are often spotted flying over Lodge Road and the Giant Panda's that are living in the trees that edge the ground and the Unicorn's that usually pay a visit on a Saturday afternoon.....just be aware of the female only club 18-30 nudist colony in the field next door.Im hoping the oak trees they planted to screen their activities will be above waist height in about 10 years time. COYB...

Just read that Mangotsfield are offering a free pint at half time in the Macclesfield game to Rovers ST holders. As well as this Rovers ST holders can get in to Cossham St for a fiver. And accompanied under 16s get in for free anyway.

And if the Avon is azure then there has been a chemical leak in Avonmouth
