Two votes for Akinde, and they aren't even ironic votes given that he's smashing them in for Barnet. Its funny how things turn out, sometimes

Good thread but can i add another question (or two); which player is the personification of, or best metaphor for, Bristol Rovers, and why?
My answer; Devon White - ungainly to the point of looking a bit odd, but did what it said on the tin, and somehow you just couldn't stop watching him

Andy Spring 6, The best player you have seen play against us. Andy Lockhead Aston Villa (always seem to score against us) 7, The best away following. City away when Gary Smart hit his last minute winner, the whole away end went berserk fo 20 minutes! 8, Our biggest team player, not necessarily the best but the one who gave the most for rovers. 1, The best rovers player you have ever seen. - Mark Walters (In terms of just pure class I'd put Wally above the rest despite his age). 2, The best manager we have had. - Bert Tann is the best manager Rovers have ever had but my favourite manager in my time as a fan (since 93) was Paul Trollope. 3, The best away game you have been to. - 3-2 against Southampton away was something else. Andy Williams goal is my number 1 best moment as a Rovers fan. 4, The best home game you have been to. - Apart from some of the obvious ones two stand out. Orient at home during the 99 Cup run was the first time I realised what Rovers being back in Bristol really meant; people were hanging off the trees to try and get a view of that game because they thought we'd get a big club in the next round instead we got Barnsley ho-hum! The other one is an odd one; Scunthorpe at home during Graydon's 1st season. We were crap they were top. We actually played quite well but coughed up a bad goal from a mistake from Kevin Austin (who I liked and really felt for) only to launch an utterly unexpected comeback capped by a Wayne Carlisle (who I never liked) free kick winner. Bizarre game but sticks in my mind. Peterborough at home in 2007 run similar for Campbell's free kick. 5, The worst player you have seen playing for us. Bradley Andrews. Holloway trialled him because he was Jamie Cureton's cousin. He had about 25 mins in a trophy game and it was clear he was terrible. The only Rovers player I've ever actively disliked and had trouble cheering for was Darryl Duffy though. 6, The best player you have seen play against us. Ryan Williams gave us the run around one afternoon at the Mem while playing for an absolutely terrible Chesterfield side. More conventionally Danny Murphy for Fulham at Craven Cottage. 7, The best away following. I used to like it when Blackpool bought inflatables to Twerton. Grimsby did too. I miss inflatables. The inflatable era was silly but fun. 8, Our biggest team player, not necessarily the best but the one who gave the most for rovers. Stuart Campbell for me every time. 9, which player is the personification of, or best metaphor for, Bristol Rovers, and why? Depends how I'm feeling about them! But Aaron Lescott is a good one I think. Bit of a rollar coaster career with us. Written off by fans and manager, reinvented himself twice as a player, became something of a cult hero yet still understated and unfashionable and always fought to the last inch despite often being outmatched. I think that represents the better image I have of Rovers.
