Couple of other points worth a mention - lovely through ball from Oztumer which the follicly challenged linesman incorrectly flagged as offside. Also Sheeded Hunt falling over and holding his head after an aerial 50/50 with Daly. Clearly trying to get Daly a red. Luckily the porker wasnt being connedYes, absolute disgrace that from Hunt. Daly had every right to jump for the ball - his arm may have slightly brushed Hunt on the way down, but it was nowhere near his head. In circumstances like this, where video evidence is available, there should be some way to punish the player for deliberately faking an injury to try to gain an advantage.
Should be fined, or retrospectively red-carded, for trying to get an opposition player sent off. I would love this to happen, it won't of course.

Surely a low ranked team for a winnable game ahen a big team being televised- would make more money.. No. it’s got to be them over Ashton. we controlled the diagonals and we controlled the horizontals, and our press was decent. As long as we control the little round thing they kick about, I'll be happy.

For Darlo Charman and Rivers look like they have something about them I had no idea Rivers was playing for Darlington these days. No wonder he's been a bit slow getting the Prediction League tables out this season.

Am I imagining things, or did Darlington once knock us out of the FA Cup as a non league side before? Around about 2010/11, we lost 1-2 (I think) at Darlington. I think they were in the Conference at the time. I had forgotten about it until a City fan reminded me. Although it was just before I started going to games, I remember being shocked when Hayes knocked us out of the cup. I was at Kettering and Hitchin and although I am now mildly amused that I used to get upset about a game of football, both games really put me in a very black mood for a lot longer than they should have. Now being knocked out by a non league side is such a regular occurrence , I struggle to remember them all. Darlington are a staggering 13/2 to win today, that is well worth a punt!

PT comes across well, here's hoping that he can turn things around on the pitch.

A footballer who cheated? There's a shock BTW, care to name me a single player who would stay on his feet the way Maradona did when he scored the second goal

.A true great and possibly the greatest. Rest in peace Diego. He wouldn't make it today. An academy coach with a gazillion qualifications would say he was too short.

East Bengal - perhaps the only team named after a region rather than a town/city.
What's more, they're based in West Bengal. East Fife and Raith Rovers

Wigan are poo. How Nicholson failed to score from 5 yards with just a defender on the line... is beyond me. It was like... like... watching Tom Nichols. I can forgive him the miss, terrible as it was, those things do happen. However, looking to the gorund and putting your hands on your knees after the miss when the ball is still in play and pinging around the box is unforgivable!

I said exactly this on the last FA Cup thread and got rinsed for it by people who seemiingly have a very rational view of things.
I've been a regularly attending Rovers fan since 1993. In that time we've had 2/3 pretty decent FA cup runs but never really had the 'blockbuster draw'. It's one of the few things about football that still gives me that certain childish excitment - ie. watching the draw from the 3rd round onwards hoping we get a big team and it's never happened. If it happens this year I will be genuinely gutted.
I'd like a nice run to the fifth round beating the likes of Chorley, Morecambe, Lincoln City and Sevenage before being dumped out by Shrewsbury. All the money, none of the fun. Not Chorley, I've never been there.

Regarding attending, it's all academic for me, as for the first time in decades I didn't renew my season ticket. Obviously some people are keen to attend- even with restrictions- but it's just not for me. Rovers is a day out for me and so much more to it than just a football match. In a similar vein, am I the only one hoping for a mediocre season with no big FA Cup ties? Well, I know I'm not actually because I bumped into a mate last week who thought the same. I would hate for us to be drawn away somewhere like Old Trafford if we can't attend.

I'm confused- I thought the limit was 4000? Bristol is going up to a higher Covid zone so number of fans is halfed from 4000 to 2000 Ah I see. I'm afraid I have totally lost track on Covid regulations.

Merch? What ees thees merch? its Urban for merchandise. Such as in “what did you do last night Ollie” ”merched around the net for seconds and z stock bargains” the adding of club wrapping to something like confectionary, you can get tenner cheaper without the logo! is hideous development in the commercial exploitation of Christmas. 🙁 Indeed, it is a time of year when we should remember the original gifts of the 3 wise men. Gould, Frankieprince and the Myrrhmorial Ground.

I think social media has a lot more to answer for than just causing problems in football.
Quite how you get the genie back in the bottle though I don't know.
