Olly is threatening to resign at Grimsby and DC under mounting fans pressure at Walsall. This follows GC sacking at Mansfield in under a year.
It was worrying to see the reaction to Tisdale after defeat yesterday, in the sense of unrealistic expectations.
The squad is unbalanced and inexperienced.
Tisdale needs to be given some time to build a team. It was a "sensible" appointment and most decent judges in football believe so.
A bit of a statement, but social media is killing football, as every defeat becomes a crisis, whilst failing to recognise the wider context that professional football is hardly financially sustainable.
We have stability off the pitch. We all need to collectively hold our nerve in next 6 months.

I think this is connecting 2 very different things and only one of them is social media driven.
In fairness Ollie has not done very well anywhere for a while now. It's understandable he'd be coming under pressure from a fanbase that has no connection with him especailly given the fanfare he arrived with. He's being somewhat hoist by his own petard. You have to deliver on the hype and he hasn't. I have little sympathy.
DC has underperformed at Walsall also.
They've been there 12 months or more than than that and they have not convinced. I think they'd have been under pressure during most eras of football so I don't think it's got much to do with Social Media. Their teams haven't done very well and their honeymoon periods are over.
The idea that there was some golden era where managers reveived loyalty is a bit of a rose tinted myth the LMA parrots. It's true that there was a tendency for some managers to stay in place for a long time which doesn't exist now on the whole but if you look at turnover at most clubs over the years there were always plenty of appointments that didn't work out and were gone pretty quickly. It's not about social media - it's that managers have always been very useful scapegoats for club owners. That's literally why they were created in the first place.
The reaction to Tisdale's first game however is ridiculous and does perhaps come from a social media tendency to dig in to entrenched positons. Ie. Those who quite liked BG now feel obligated to undermine Tisdale to justify their views.

I think social media has a lot more to answer for than just causing problems in football.
Quite how you get the genie back in the bottle though I don't know.

it has its positives but increasing people's patience levels is absolutely not one of them.

Thought Holloway had invested somewhere in the region of £10,000 in the GTFC set up, nice to see if that was "performance related" for a return if he leaves

I think social media has a lot more to answer for than just causing problems in football. Quite how you get the genie back in the bottle though I don't know. While social media is definitely a mixed bag I think I'd resist a general 'down with this sort of thing' narrative towards it.
From personal experience, I'm pretty sure that if it hadn't been for social media that I would not be much of a Rovers fan anymore. It's difficult to keep up the emotional link once you move away and are not having those everyday conversations about the club. I'm pretty sure I would have drifted away over the years but online interaction means it remains an important part of my life. So I'm quite grateful.
It's easy to blame social media but what is the alternative? I don't think the alternative is some return to the golden age in people's heads. The alternative would be a failure to connect at all with younger generations who have lots of alternative options with their time. There is a positive aspect of social media creating communities, tone and a form of engagement that younger fans can relate to. If it didn't exist I don't think they'd embrace the 'old model' - I think they just wouldn't care. Some of what social media gets blamed for isn't really about social media - it's about a shift in expectations.
