I think Chelsea owner american billionaire Todd Boehly is a bit of a egoist..Tuchel lasted 100 days, Potter had a 5-year deal and lasted 31 games. Total madness..

Frank Lampard: Chelsea set to name ex-manager as boss until end of the season..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/482E/production/_129287481_gettyimages-1250772279.jpgFrank Lampard is set to be appointed interim Chelsea manager until the end of the season - just over two years after the club sacked him. He has been out of a job since January when he was dismissed by Everton after less than a year in charge. The ex-Chelsea and England midfielder previously managed the Blues from July 2019 until January 2021, when he was replaced by Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel's successor, Graham Potter, was sacked on Sunday.

Dean Smith: Leicester in talks with ex-Norwich and Villa boss over role until end of season..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/132BA/production/_129322587_gettyimages-1417628584.jpgDean Smith is in talks with Leicester about taking over as manager until the end of the season. Smith, 52, left Norwich earlier this season after previous spells at Aston Villa and Brentford. It is understood talks are centred around trying to keep the Foxes in the Premier League rather than looking longer term. If Smith does take on the role, it would involve Craig Shakespeare returning to the King Power Stadium. Shakespeare was part of Claudio Ranieri's backroom team when Leicester famously won the Premier League title in 2016. He subsequently replaced the Italian as manager. Leicester are in huge trouble in the relegation zone following Saturday's home defeat by Bournemouth.

Paul Ince: Reading manager sacked with five games of season to go..Reading have sacked manager Paul Ince with the club in 22nd in the Championship and without a win in their past eight games. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/16DDE/production/_129326639_shutterstock_editorial_13865284o.jpgInce was appointed on an interim basis in February 2022 before taking on the role permanently last May. The Royals were deducted six points last week for breaching the terms of a business plan set by the English Football League. They are a point from safety with five games left after losing at Preston. Assistant manager Alex Rae has also left the club, with former Reading striker Noel Hunt stepping up from his role as under-21 boss to take interim charge for the rest of the season. "I would like to thank Paul and Alex for their efforts throughout what has admittedly been a frustrating and exceptionally challenging season so far. We would like to wish them well in their future endeavours," said Reading's head of football operations Mark Bowen. "The board will work diligently to identify the manager who is the best fit for this football club going forward - a candidate capable of driving it towards a healthier, brighter future. "However, for the next five games, our only focus is on doing everything we can to survive this season." Reading dropped to 20th after being handed the points deduction, which came after a previous profit and sustainability rule breach. They were also given a six-point deduction for the previous breach in 2021, after losing £57.8m between 2017 and 2021. The Royals have been under a transfer embargo ever since, which former Manchester United and England midfielder Ince had to work under during his tenure. The club's top scorer this season is Ince's son, Tom, who was signed after leaving Stoke last summer and has nine league goals. While Reading started this campaign strongly, winning seven of their first 11 games to sit third in the table, they have only won two games out of 14 since the new year and face a battle to stay in the second tier. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/7C7D/production/_126396813_gettyimages-1409778187.jpg

Dean Smith has been named Leicester City boss until the end of the season...ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2023/4/11/a6c483fd-3a03-4f3a-83ef-303b3586d401.jpgNew Leicester City manager Dean Smith believes keeping the club in the Premier League is "very much achievable". The 52-year-old has been named Foxes manager until the end of the season and has eight league games to try and escape relegation. The former Aston Villa and Norwich boss said: "I’m really happy to have the opportunity to lead the team during these final weeks of the season. "The challenge in front of us is clear, but it’s one myself and my coaching team have experienced before. ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2023/4/11/ab3de812-e329-40bd-8e52-d6c23f12812f.pngHere are the games Leicester are facing before the end of the season.Man City (a) Wolves (h) Leeds (a) Everton (h) Fulham (a) Liverpool (h) Newcastle (a) West Ham (a) .............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. Leicester City are in "absolute panic" after sacking Brendan Rodgers so late in the season, according to former Premier League striker Chris Sutton. Rodgers was dismissed on 2nd April with the Foxes in the relegation zone. On Monday, former Aston Villa manager Dean Smith was appointed until the end of the season after ex-Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch was said to have turned them down. "The owner has made such a mess of this," Sutton said. Rodgers is one of a record 13 managerial changes in the Premier League this season - three more than in any other previous campaign - with several clubs appointing interim candidates until the end of the season. Frank Lampard at Chelsea, Cristian Stellini at Tottenham, Southampton's Ruben Selles and Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace are in place until the summer, with Leeds' Javi Gracia on a "flexible contract". "It is staggering what has happened," added Sutton, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club before Smith was appointed. "They sacked an experienced manager with a good track record, things haven't gone well this season, but I do not understand how this situation has come about. "We had the international break where, if they were not happy with Rodgers then, they should have sacked him and brought a replacement in. "I thought in this multi-billion dollar industry that clubs plan for all circumstances, so if a manager has to go they would have a list of ready-made replacements - Leicester haven't. "They have made it up as they have gone along and it is absolute panic." Leicester have lost seven of their last eight Premier League games and travel to Manchester City on 15 April. Crystal Palace replaced Patrick Vieira with Roy Hodgson at the end of last month and have won their first two games under the 75-year-old to move six points clear of the bottom three. Sutton does not believe whoever replaced Rodgers could have a similar impact. "Leicester are bang in trouble and it doesn't really matter who comes in," he said. "If you are a Leicester owner you will hope they have the Roy Hodgson effect, but it doesn't really work like that. "I really fear for them." ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... I wonder what a certain Mr Lineker thinks of this whole situation his beloved Leicester are in..?

Darrell Clarke: Port Vale sack manager after winless seven-game run..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/60C7/production/_124957742_clarke_pa.jpgPort Vale have sacked manager Darrell Clarke after a winless seven-game run which has seen them slip into danger of relegation from League One. The 45-year-old guided Vale to promotion last season through the play-offs, beating Mansfield at Wembley. His final match in charge was a 3-2 defeat in which the Valiants finished with nine men against 10-man Lincoln. Defeat leaves the Potteries side just six points clear of the relegation places with four games remaining. Fourth-from-bottom Cambridge United, in the final relegation spot, have a game in hand on Vale. Assistant manager Andy Crosby has been named as Clarke's interim replacement until the end of the season. Port Vale's director of football David Flitcroft said the club had "immense gratitude" to Clarke for returning them to League One after a five-year absence, but their run of two wins from 18 league games has demanded a change. "Following discussions in recent weeks with Darrell, the backroom staff and senior players, we have decided now is the best time to make a change and give ourselves the best chance of retaining the League One status we have all worked so tirelessly to achieve," Flitcroft told the club website. Port Vale co-owner Carol Shanahan said it was "difficult to part ways" with Clarke. "Collectively, this has not been an easy decision to make," she said. "We always wish to give our manager ample opportunity to deliver results, though at this stage we now agree it is in the club's best immediate and long-term interests to make a change." ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/4EAF/production/_121534102_hi071490345.jpg

Breaking news. Graham Potter has been re-re-appointed as interim manager at Chelsea after the 1-0 defeat to Wolves. (Re-appointed Lampard is standing by) Lampard: "I've been here now for only two weeks so I'm hungry." Priceless To be fair chelski have united the entire footballing fraternity. Everyone is loving what is happening to the Todd Boehly All Stars. Even hardened chelski fans are just shaking their heads in disbelief. Marvellous.

Looks like his 4th and final appointment if this doesn't work out. U's fairly likely to stay up this season as they're 19th and 9 points clear of Crawley (games in hand though) down in 23rd. So BG will probably be there for the start of next season. Not looking good for Rochdale. Great shame if they go. That will be Bury (RIP, re-formed lower down the leagues but the 2 'new' Clubs are still in-fighting), Oldham and Rochdale. 3 Clubs in close proximity north of Manchester all non-league. Very sad. Agree, always had a soft spot for Rochdale as a kid, they were forever applying for re-election back then, but i think they will be down this season. Rochdale have been a league side since the 1921-22 season & appeared in the 1961-62 League Cup Final over 2 legs losing to Norwich City 4-0 on agg. Now, 6 points adrift with 12 to play will take a monumentous turn-around to save their league status, crossing fingers & toes might not cut it. Barring a miracle of biblical proportions, Rochdale all but down now. Great shame. Glad I got to see them last year at Spotland vs Scunthorpe (0-0 in the drizzle). Very tough for these Clubs to get back in the EFL. And Scunny off to National League North next season.

Not a manager but: Fabio Paratici resigns as Tottenham managing director following ban from football..By Mandeep Sangheraichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/7D3F/production/_129436023_hi083993402.jpgFabio Paratici has resigned as Tottenham Hotspur's managing director of football with immediate effect. The move follows the 50-year-old losing his appeal against a 30-month ban, which was extended "to have worldwide effect" by Fifa, from Italian football. Paratici was banned after Juventus, where he was sporting director and managing director before joining Spurs, were found guilty of false accounting. Juventus' 15-point penalty was reversed with the case to be re-examined. However, Paratici, who took up his roleat Tottenham in June 2021, had his appeal against his ban, which he received in January, rejected. A Spurs statement said: "Fifa ruled to extend the ban worldwide and, whilst there continues to be a dispute as to the scope and extent of the ban, the current worldwide ban prevents Fabio from fulfilling his duties as our managing director of football. "Fabio has consequently taken the decision to resign from his position at the club with immediate effect to focus on his legal position in respect of the FIGC (Italian Football Federation) and Fifa rulings." Tottenham dismissed Antonio Conte as their manager in late March and Paratici said that he and the club were "focused" on moving forward and finding a replacement before Fifa expanded his ban to be worldwide a day later. Spurs have since appointed Scott Munn as chief football officer in a role which saw him join the club's board as well as taking charge of all footballing departments. "This has been a stressful time for Fabio and his family," said Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy. "We wanted to ensure that we allowed for due process to be followed. Fabio is a man who lives and breathes football - we wish him well. "As outlined in our year-end results, we started several months ago to restructure our football operations and last week announced the appointment of Scott Munn as chief football officer to head up all the departments. "We shall continue to strengthen our football functions over the coming months."

Chairman Daniel Levy said: "Sunday's performance against Newcastle was wholly unacceptable. It was devastating to see. "We can look at many reasons why it happened and while myself, the board, the coaches and players must all take collective responsibility, ultimately the responsibility is mine. "Cristian will leave his current role along with his coaching staff. He stepped in at a difficult point in our season and I want to thank him for the professional manner in which he and his coaching staff have conducted themselves during such a challenging time. "We wish him and his staff well."

Sabri Lamouchi leaves Cardiff City after talks with owner Vincent Tan fail.. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/CED0/production/_129744925_cdf_080523_burnley_v_cardiff_08.jpgCardiff City are looking for their third new manager in six months after owner Vincent Tan decided not to offer Sabri Lamouchi a new contract. The 51-year-old joined on a short-term deal in January and ensured the club avoided relegation to League One. Lamouchi had been open to staying on with chairman Mehmet Dalman saying he had been optimistic the 51-year-old would remain in charge. But discussions with Tan have ended Lamouchi's time in south Wales. A Cardiff City statement read: "We can confirm Sabri Lamouchi will depart at the conclusion of his current deal. "Sabri joined the Bluebirds at the end of January 2023, overseeing 18 fixtures, and winning six matches. "Cardiff City would like to thank Sabri for his efforts and contribution in helping us secure our place in the Championship for 2023-24 and wish him all the very best for the future. "The board of directors at Cardiff City FC have already begun the process of appointing a new management team." It will mean a fourth manager in the space of a year for the Bluebirds who began last season with Steve Morison in charge before Mark Hudson took over in September. With the team winless in 11 games and one point above the relegation places, Cardiff brought in the former Nottingham Forest boss with the aim of staying up. The Frenchman oversaw six wins in 18 games to keep Cardiff in the second tier and had said he was ready for talks about leading the side into the new campaign. Initial discussions with Dalman took place before meetings with the club's Malaysian owner who had the final say on a decision.

Russell Martin: Swansea City boss set to be next Southampton manager..By Ian Mitchelmore and Gareth Vincent, BBC Sport Wales.ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/11394/production/_129784507_gettyimages-1246869990.jpgSwansea City head coach Russell Martin is close to being named Southampton manager. Southampton are yet to make an official approach to Swansea for permission to speak to Martin. Saints are confident the 37-year-old will be their new boss as they rebuild following Premier League relegation. Martin has only a year to run on his Swansea contract and has not travelled to the US for scheduled talks with Swansea's American ownership group. He has repeatedly said he would be interested in extending his stay in Wales, but no new deal has materialised. Martin had been set to cross the Atlantic this week for talks over future plans, but the trip was cancelled with the former Scotland defender now the leading contender to be named as Ruben Selles' successor. Former Norwich City captain Martin signed a three-year contract when he left MK Dons to succeed Steve Cooper at Swansea in August 2021. He led Swansea to 15th in his first season as a Championship boss, and 10th in 2022-23 - an undulating campaign which ended with a rousing nine-game unbeaten run. Martin's Swansea played the sort of possession football which has been the club's trademark for much of the last 15 years, with his commitment to that style believed to appeal to Southampton's hierarchy. Having been relegated from the top flight, the Saints are aiming to appoint a new boss swiftly following the conclusion of the 2022-23 season.
