I' m starting to feel bad now that we won the Jules Rimet Trophy with the help of a disputed goal. Oh and I'm sure that we got the winner at Wigan in the 1989/90 season with a goal that came from a throwing that probably should not have been given our way.

That is not the main reason we won that match, Bamber, and if you think that, then you`re as deluded as some other posters think. The main reason we won that game, was because a non league referee made a non league decision, and allowed us to continue with 11 players. both goalies should have walked Lets not confuse things with accurate information.

Yeah and we only got promoted because Grimsby missed a penalty! Nothing to do with the 25/27 victories prior to the play off final. As Gary Neville would say...un-be-lieve-able Still finished behind bankrupt Barnet though. I laugh at you Bambi I really do. Oh and in this country individuals go bankrupt Bambi not companies. Just saying as I know you are a stickler for detail.

Yes we do, the manager often couldn't out-think part time teams, and dispite having a huge budget for the division, and him inheriting a defence that was easily good enough for L2 we just limped out of the division because Pittman can't hit a target that's 8 yards wide and 8 feet tall. Clarke has proved nothing yet, hopefully he will over the next 9 months, but to pretend that last season was some kind of triumph is more deluded than people going into meltdown because we've lost a training session yesterday. Getting out of a division where there's only 1 automatic promotion place the first time of asking wasn't a huge success? Patently absurd. Yeah and we only got promoted because Grimsby missed a penalty! Nothing to do with the 25/27 victories prior to the play off final. As Gary Neville would say...un-be-lieve-able

Seems to me that parts of the French media wouldn't have given a French rider the same treatment if he'd been setting the same times. Not saying it's an anti English thing but more to do with no home grown riders competing at the top end in their own tour. Congratulations to Chris Vrooom!

I blame John Ward. An idea: A consolidated Supermarket Economics thread for those that are interested? Finally Its what this forum has been crying out for since the start. I see the Iceland Group are down by 2 points.

A win is a win so if we beat Manor Farm's spotty kids then yeah I'd be happy. Buckle would be proud of how low your expectations are.Serious question, how did you react then when Mansell put away that final penalty? Huge relief. The financial implications of staying in that division didn't bare thinking about. Then I looked down at Higgs and wondered what he would waste the play off and Wembley money on. Didn't have to wait long to find out.
Good to know you were happy then, even if it all wore off soon after. Still UTG eh, let's continue supporting the team...go on you might even enjoy it. Now that would be a triumph but I'll be honest my expectations are low...apparently

Getting promoted was not a triumph? How on earth can you say that? Aim in August was to get back at the first attempt and we achieved just that. It's all about resources and the quality of the opposition. How excited would you get if we beat Manor Farm U11s? Not very, because it isn't a fair contest, likewise we should have blown away the Conference last year, the standard was mostly pitiful. Let's wait and see over the next couple of years how many players from last year's Conference go on to have League careers at a decent level, very few, if any would be my guess. Most of the better players that I noticed were old campaigners on their way down and just looking for a pay day at the end of their careers. Dreadful standard overall. A win is a win so if we beat Manor Farm's spotty kids then yeah I'd be happy. Serious question, how did you react then when Mansell put away that final penalty? Did you just calmly walk away thinking well that was hardly a season to celebrate Did you jump up and down like a chimpanzee on a trampoline (as I did) Did you secretly wish we'd got beat so believing your opinions could be vindicated Did you politely clap like Joe a Root had stroked one through cover point for 4 Did you indulge in a spot of stranger hugging Did you immediately think back to disappointing draws at Welling and Alfreton Or was it none of the above?

Same old whinging people p1ssing themselves over a poor pre season performance, as they did for the majority of last season and we all know how that ended up.Some people couldn't see any positive even if they were looking at a battery. Can't cop a mauling like this and not expect changes. Lyth looks out of his depth, Ballance is a cheap wicket and Bell is fine if he's coming in at 220-2 but he lacks the fight if it's 20-2 when he comes in. Maybe play the women's team in the 3rd test...they have no bo11ocks either.

If fit for the majority of the season, I think he will be a 20+ goal striker. Will give us a decent shout of being in the mix at the end of the season

Just to give the opposite POV and not wishing to deviate too far from all the negativity, we might actually win. My advice is too relax and have a big drink or a smoke if preferred and see how it all plays out. Mean time support the team like crazy and look forward to being divvy 2 challengers this season. Or of course we could just moan all of the time and pass considered comments we really know f**k all about

There's the difference in us I'd never even contemplated thoughts like that about Doug All these MPs are the same, all detached from the voters, I think they should make more effort to connect with us. Charlotte could have celebrated her election victory ripping her sweat drenched, figure hugging shirt off and offering to swap it with one of the other candidates. one of them was a fat geezer though...hey whatever floats your boat, this is 2015 after all

Buy loads of scratch cards and lucky dips and cross fingers Whilst you are here Nick, have you decided about going to appeal yet? I find the number 5 scratch cards offer a decent winning chance. Looks like we could be there. Just received an email advising that I have won the Nigerian state lottery. Strange as I don't recall buying a ticket but hey you make your own luck in this world. I just need to send the good people in Lagos my bank details and the money should be in my account within 3 working days.

We’ve already spent a fortune on the court case and there is talk of an appeal. I really can’t see us having any chance of winning an appeal based on what I saw in court and what I've read about the case and the process. It’s surely just throwing good money after bad. Does anyone actually think it’s worth appealing today's decision? The lawyers think it's a good idea maybe? Tend to agree with what's been said already...we lost and it's time to move on...oh and to get someone new to draft any future legal documents
