Anyone have any update on Jermaine Easter .... Really hoping he will make an impact this season but starting to think we won't see him much for a while yet.
Anyone know any different or have a progress report please?

He said on the first day of pre-season training he was 10 days away from being able to do all ball work again, so he'll only just be starting that now. Too soon to put him in any friendlies but hopefully he'll be okay to feature either this weekend or, more likely, against Reading next Tuesday.

If fit for the majority of the season, I think he will be a 20+ goal striker. Will give us a decent shout of being in the mix at the end of the season

He was good when he came on. Plays off the last man cannily. Potentially awesome.
One thing though, does anyone think he could do with losing a couple of pounds?

Nice song Peter. Doubt it'll get sung though, time was you'd get all sorts of chants and songs at Rovers games. Now all you hear is 'come on you blues' and an occasional blast of Irene - boring!
Jermaine showed some real creative ability when he came on against Arsenal U21. As for losing a couple of pounds, give the guy a break, he's only been back in full training for a few days! Once he's done a month of full training and got fully match fit, and played some games, a few extra pounds will soon come off.

I've gone a bit quiet on him since the disappointment of last year. But him and Linesy do have the potential to make the difference for us this year. I'll stop thinking about it lest I start to come over all optimistic far too soon

Easter won't be a 20+ goal striker even in his dreams but he still has a lot to offer us - provided he keeps fit.
He can play nicely enough as a false-nine lone striker and maybe even better if partnered with a speedster like Harrison, maybe even Taylor given the amount of ground that he covers.
