Next Thursday evening (16th July) manager Darrell Clarke will be hosting an open forum for all supporters to talk about the season ahead.
The forum will take place in the Dribuild Suite at the Memorial Stadium, with a 7.30pm kick off.
You don't have to be a member of the Supporters Club to attend, just turn up on the evening.
Darrell will be happy to listen to what you have to say, and answer any questions you may have, on any Rovers related football matter.
The manager, who met supporters at a number of functions last season, had no hesitation in accepting an offer to chair next week’s forum, saying; “I’m always happy to meet and talk to our supporters.
"They were so loyal to us last season, so it will be a pleasure to meet some of them on Thursday and thank them in person for their amazing support.”

Someone is sure to ask about his contract with the club, whether he has signed a new one and how many year(s) is it?

Whatever people may have thought and posted last season, I think that the overwhelming majority are now firmly behind Darrell Clark. New season and all that.

I have to keep reminding myself that he is s very young manager & is still learning on the job.

Point being that it's ok to be critical but it's far from ok to cross the line and get personal...as some (who yes of course I could name) did. Hence the point about an apology.

But at the same time that sentiment should also be applied to the Chairman, BoD, fellow posters et al, and not just the manager should it not?

But as this was a thread about our manager and not anyone else connected to the club, I felt it worthy to say that as well as thank yous Darrell also deserved apologies from those who chose to get personal.

Pretty sure if we don't get the result we are hoping for that enables us to move UWE forward tomorrow - for some everything that is Bristol Rovers will be in melt down from DC his team Higgs and all - it could get very messy and personal as all of the positives from last season are swept aside by the told you so brigade

BRISTOL ROVERS: High Court victory would be a ''game-changer", claims Darrell ClarkeBy JamesMcNamara | Posted: July 12, 2015 Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke says a positive outcome in a High Court battle with Sainsbury's would be a 'game-changer'. Rovers are set to find out whether or not the supermarket chain will be forced to honour a contract to buy the Memorial Stadium when a judge delivers her verdict on Monday morning following a trial at the High Court in May. A successful outcome for Rovers would see them receive a sum of £30million that would kick start plans to make progress on a project to build a new 21,000 all-seated stadium on land owned by the University of West England in Stoke Gifford. Should the decision go in favour of the retailer, however, Rovers, who are believed to have thrown a six-figure sum at fighting the protracted legal battle, would almost certainly have to concede that dreams of a new home would be at an end for the foreseeable future. It could also leave Clarke contemplating the prospect of operating on a reduced playing budget whilst the club continue a bid to seek new owners or significant investment in a bid to make inroads into mounting debts. Clarke said: "It's a huge day for the football club and the first thing I would say is that our supporters deserve a fantastic new stadium.
"I don't know the politics and all the ins and outs of the situation, but it would be very disappointing if the verdict doesn't go our way.
"It has been well documented that money is pretty tight at the minute so a positive outcome could be a 'game changer'. We have a competitive squad at the minute but I would also like to make more additions.
"The court case obviously has a massive impact on the playing side of things. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to come to the conclusion that the more money that is spent on the court case means there is less available for players."While there are no plans for new faces to arrive imminently, Clarke got the chance to look at several trialists over the weekend as Rovers opened their pre-season campaign with victories at Salisbury and Sutton United. Wingers Billy Bodin and Toby Ajala were both handed run-outs along with Bristol-born wideman Jennison Myrie-Williams. Bodin and Ajala are expected to play at Cirencester and Mangotsfield Town respectively in midweek friendlies, and Clarke said: "It is early days so I don't really want to make judgements on any of them yet." Myrie-Williams, however, is expected to have his future finalised later this week. It is understood that he would like to return to Bristol, but he has other offers on the table. Goalkeeper Ian McLouglin, who is also on trial, did not play in either of weekend games after suffering a minor groin strain in training, but Clarke added: "He is still with us and I'd like to get a look at him in one of the games this week." Will Puddy (groin) is also in the treatment room as a precaution, while he will be joined there by Matty Taylor (hip) and Ellis Harrison (back) after both suffered knocks at Sutton on Sunday. "They aren't serious problems and we took them off as a precaution more than anything else," Clarke said. "It is all about getting the balance right and not taking any unnecessary risks in the early part of pre-season." The bigger immediate question on the football side is how much of a negative game changer is it? Can't see all those big signings everyone hoped for now.....Time to lower expectations perhaps.....

Of more concern I think is if this might affect how long Darrell will remain with us for if he is unable to invest in more players ?
