No details of whether the contract is a new contract replacing the old one completely or an extension of the current contract or an improved contract with no extension or some kind of combination. Details seem to have been deliberately left out on the website so guess it's intended that the info isn't made public for whatever reason. Pleased as a supporter if it's an extension of some kind as I think he's a good manager to build with, and pleased for DC on a personal level if it's a payrise or an improvement.

I interpreted it that the rolling contract he was on previously carried on over the summer, but he has now signed a new and improved contract on top of that. I hope that is the case, because he deserves it.

On his interview relating to the Reading game, the backdrop-again- is bare with just peeling plaster on show.Looks amateurish and another marketing opportunity lost.

The club have now made an announcement on the official site . . .
So it is a done deal then and everything seems to be settling down quite nicely prior to the start of the new season, except that is for you-know-what.

Although we have been promoted, lost the stadium, unsure about boards leadership, it feels we are in a settled state in and around the pitch. This is why the guy deserves a pay rise, the 12 month rolling contract is suitable for both sides I'm sure, but for the first time this is a long term contract I'd be very happy for the club to arrange.
Good news regardless.

Okay I will be the one dissenting voice. I agree DC should have some monetary reward for taking us back up after he took us down. However I am convinced that it was the players he inherited plus Lines (I'm sure DC wasn't the one to bring him to the club) that really got us up. I give him full credit for getting the team spirit back again but will this be enough for div 2? Does he have the wherewithall to bring better players into the club.I really hope he does but I've seen little evidence of it so far.

Darrell came to me in my darkest hour and showed me the light. My devotion is absolute to travel to Accrington on a cold winter morn. Amen.
In all seriousness, he seems to pick me up whenever I feel really down on the club.

So you don't think the 38 games under Wards leadership, especially when he refused to sign any strikers believing Harrold was a match winner had anything to do with our relegation? You haven't seen any evidence of DC bringing better players to the club? Harrison was on his way, he brought him back. Easter? Not better than most? And yes HE brought Lines in. Is'nt that enough? No suggest you go to see Rangers more
