you offering to buy his shareholding and take over the mantle ? I would if I could, I tell you what I would only buy in if I had deep pockets too. None of this risk free ownership of a football club by securing against assets. If you want to buy in you need to accept that you have to spend your own money, unlike this mob. I guarantee that if we get taken over they won't lose a penny when they walk away. Absolutely correct assumption my friend

When five key senior players have been taken from the team and replaced with bargain bin deals is it no surprise we are where we are? I like Payne and he has pedigree, but until this takeover is sorted out the playing side of things will be affected.

It’s absurd that after two and a half years of nothing that people still swallow this Evolution not Revolution rubbish. The clear implication at time of takeover was there would be a sea change in how the club would be ran. Infrastructure, team, player development etc etc. As we currently speak, the club is in a shambolic state and the Arabs frankly have not got a scooby doo apart from all expenditure is borrowed against the Mem. Utter charlatans and probably the biggest threat we’ve faced to our existence The fat builder and non league football was a far bigger threat tbh. Spending is spiralling out of control all borrowed against the only asset DS own. Unsustainable. The ‘fat builder’ was Chairman when we got back into the football league FYI the AQ’s trucked up in February and hung onto the coat tails of DC’s double promotion. Ever since lots of hot air, appointments, pointless interviews and an idiotic hiring and firing policy where we have a President, a Chairman, a CEO and a well, I don’t know WTF he is mr Gorringe. Five good pedigree L1 players gone and inferior players signed. We are going backwards at a pretty fast rate.

You are so,so, right. I spoke to two guys before the game who said as much, although specific details not available. Whether we bumble on or things come to a head - who knows....... Perhaps we need some reassuring words from CEO Martyn Starnes ? Sorry, who?

I am not a rose tinter, but grounded in history and realism. I have been supporting Gas for over fifty years, and during that time third tier is our natural level. If anything the changes to English football, rule changes with transfers, influx of money into the premiership and championship, all five divisions are even tougher and football is so much more follow the money favouring the people with it to burn these days than in the past. How can we compare today with a past where there was maximum wage, it’s chalk and cheese. Third tier is a good level for a club that’s the size we are right now. Just being competitive in here year after year is a worthy challenge right now. Which brings me nicely to my bewilderment with some of you thinking what the current board doing for us is too little too slow. You what? I wanted a kite. About 45 years ago. My Dad said, you want that kite in the shop window, let’s go down and get it then. So off we go. And there it was hung up in the window, in the form of a bat. A bat kite! My Dad said 45p, you got the money? I said I don’t have anything. He said you can’t have it then. So we went home. Wail (sic) doesn’t have abramovichs riches. He’s not a fake shake (sic) because he’s not a sheik. He’s in a wealthy family, and he’s the mad football fanatic who will burn their cash, not make more money for them out of football. we needed some fresh ownership and direction. We got it. They cleared the wonga loans, presided over two promotions. Bank that. It don’t feel like we are going to the wall tomorrow. And they have given Clarke a competitive budget, not a relegation or even bottom half budget. I think that’s fair enough. Some of you need to take the lesson of the bat kite analogy and reconcile your own expectations with reality. A football stadium comes with a price tag, just ask Arsenal, Southampton, Supporters today and spurs fans in 2020. Where are you saying that sort of money is for Rovers stadium? Solid third tier building organically to lower half Championship. Why would any level headed, blue n white blooded, fair minded gashead have a problem with that? Right. That’s said. I’m off for a curry. Yes the owners are so good aren't they ? they have Increased the clubs annual debt. Taken on a paid Chairman. A London office. A CEO. Bought a field in Almondsbury. Sold the best players. Yet people like you think that they are great but DC who got Rovers promoted from the Conference by bringing in players that nobody had heard of and then getting a second promotion in successive seasons is the problem here !
As ever - thanks to Stevek192. I saved myself a 280 mile round trip and a minimum of 6 hours in the car to avoid this predictable pile of bcfc1982. I don't blame DC. Things are rotten at Rovers and only a change of ownership will change things. Stagnation not evolution. In fact we don't even aspire to stagnation. We're going backwards. But hey ho - we have an ever expanding senior management team to steady the ship. That's sinking. Very succinctly put and right of course.

Taylor, Bodin, Gaffney, Brown & Harrison gone. Replaced with inferior players. No UWE, Colony or plans for the Mem. Appalling run of form stretching back to last season. Evolution not Revolution? This is plain old asset stripping. Wake up people.

Mate of mine said that Browner was giving it the big one on both of Pompey's goals? I thought that out of character. But then again his leaving was a bit of a mystery. "A move closer to London" was what he wanted. To Portsmouth? Something not quite right about that. It was all about money.

I always got the impression that Wael was a genuine guy but there is now too much evidence to the contrary.
No doubt he is in an awkward position but constantly being led down the garden path like this isn't acceptable. The time for some honesty was 12 months ago, Gasheads on the whole are a good bunch who have been though so much crap over so may years. We deserve better. Can you point me to this "evidence" so i can make a definitive comment on it........ Thanks for your help in this matter ’There are none so blind as those who cannot see....’’ or something like that. The whole Dwayne Sports thing has been a total charade.

The point is after the takeover the overriding implication was of substantial investment in the clubs infrastructure, team and general profile. Talk of ‘Academy 2 status’ training facilities and a fundamental transformation of ragbag Rovers. Even the most optimistic of supporters after two and a half years can see this is blatantly not the case. The club and it’s day to day running is worse than it has ever been. More temporary stands, price hiles, staff mildly critical of the way the club is being run into the ground are sacked. More debt being racked up against the value of the Mem. A President, a Chairman, a CEO, Gorringe (whatever the @@@@ he is?) all adding to the wage bill and achieving nothing. We are going down the toilet at this rate. This whole episode could be the biggest threat to BRFC in its entire history. If a takeover is in the offing, I hope it is soon.

Anyone with even a smidgen of business acumen would really try to hang on to a captive audience of 8-9000 customers. The bars behind the Blackthorn have always been a disgrace. This should have been done 20 years ago. We should want to turn up before the game and spend money in the clubhouse, also after the game with the match highlights. The pubs around Trashton are moaning that all the Sheet heads now drink at the stadium. Jesus it’s not difficult is it?

Looks like the chairman will be carrying the can for £3,000,000 debt. Weird when all he is is a mouthpiece for the AQ’s. Still, he did the dirty work I suppose of getting the stadium manager out of the way so must take great credit for that. The club is an absolute shambles apart from the first team. This is re arranging deck chairs on the I’m afraid.

Ah so thats the reason for our defecit, we’ve paid Gary Neville not to attend the mem. Seriously though, Christmas not long gone and Walsall are taking bookings for next Christmas and NY. Good commercial set up there and a good reason why we pulled from UWE. You know why we walked away from UWE? Ooooo, I dunno. Prob because the AQ’s want out asap?

I guess that's the issue we all want a better Academy, the players allowed overnight accommodation, Clarke & Bodin offered decent contracts, a Commercial Manager employed etc, etc, the problem is that all costs money, so adding £500K for all that to the losses NH was already incurring then add the £500K interest and we're up to a £2m loss p.a. The question now is are the ALQ's just prepared to plough £1.5m back into the club p.a. indefinitely until we get a new stadium. If so, then it's not really an issue. Not sure I agree with the way you accept the starting point of losing £1m. I was talking about a crazy period when we seemed to have every Scottish bloke with a dreadful attitude playing for us, and, if rumours were to be believed, were paying them all handsomely for telling the manager where and when they were prepared to play. Not sure you can put Tom in the 'Acceptable losses' column either, advertising, commercial and hospitality, I would have thought, already generates a lot more than the wages the dept absorbs, it's his job to grow that revenue. Is Holtby still on the payroll? See also the earlier points about increased attendances and increased prices in hospitality areas. Those losses raise more questions than answers. Looking forward to Swiss crunching the numbers and making some kind of sense of it for us. Mr H is still ‘Stadium Manager’ listed in the programme😀

1Coming up to two years since the Al Qadis took over. They rode the wave of a double promotion very well indeed. 2Now that wave has diminished into nothing they are desperately treading water. 3No real explanation for why the UWE collapsed. 4Charge against the Mem. 5Non existent stadium redevelopment plans. 6Zero communication with the fans 7Frosty relations between DC and the president. 8The mysterious departure of the Stadium Manager. 9Strong rumours of another takeover. 10It's just as well we have an absolute star in Darrell Clarke and a team who wants to perform for him. After the beam back of the Oxford game on Saturday, I sat in the bar when only a few were left watching the rugby. 11What an utter embarrassment the Supporters Club bar is. Why do we put up with such dreadful treatment as loyal supporters? Redeveloped Mem. 12 Not a chance. OR a different viewpoint 1Yes, two years is not long 2 a third promotion looming ? 3 It takes two to tango but only if they are in agreement 4 There has been a charge on the mem for the last 20 years 5 plans being formulated 6 is there any point when always rubbished by the anti brigade? 7 Don't be silly 8 a mystery you may not want to know more 9 Like all the others - rumours without foundation 10 Yes, on a five-year contract 11 as it has been for eighteen years before the Ai Qadi's arrived, did you complain then? 12 Give them a chance Fanatical. How apt.
