My source tells me 100% Gorringe is history. So a bit of good news on a dreary day. You are not the only one who has heard this but, if true, it's the way it's being handled which is most disappointing. I'd hoped the new ownership era would bring about a culture change and restore a sense of normality to the way Rovers conduct their business. No comment from the CEO about the manager leaving, a sudden cessation of his regular "insider knowledge" column in the programme, no attendance at the SC AGM ? It's obvious that something is happening and the most likely explanation is that Tom's role is being deliberately downgraded in an effort to make him want to seek pastures new. To me this is a cheap tactic which brings no credit to any business which employs it and with Rovers track record it is very likely to backfire. If he is leaving let's have an honest statement and make a clean dignified break so the club can move forward. The bloke doesn’t deserve a dignified exit. The way he treated long term, loyal employees of the club. Karma strikes again.

Fake news. Only emailed him 2 days ago and got a reply. Still in post. Not fake news. Cheers

I think the bloke has systematically stripped the heart out of the club. Getting rid of nearly all the staff (volunteers, part timers and those who were part of the furniture) and stupid initiatives like card only payment. Good riddance. Card only payment is the correct commercial decision. If I was running a business I would make it as easy as possible for customers to pay me by any means. Not everyone has digital means of payment so it is fundamentally discriminatory. Going cashless is a false economy.

Yes, agree that the loss of screen soccer was a big mistake. I only wish the Gorringe (sp) could maybe ask them back but that is not going to happen. They would have made a great video from this. Come on KP, give credit where credit’s due. Some of the output of our Media Dept. has been excellent over the past few days. Not sure screen soccer would have been able to equal it. Whatever, the current team have produced some wonderful stuff. Not sure why TG would bring in others when our own are producing some quality stuff. Great few days btw! UTG! Screen Soccer would have had 3 camera coverage, the entire game unedited and of course their superb insight and commentary due to their lifelong support of the club. A massive and historical game has not been recorded and archived as it should have been. As it was, just one camera and voice over. Such a short sighted decision by Gorringe.

I managed to get into the ground whilst the ref had halted proceedings. Saw the last ten mins or so. Hadn’t been all season. So lucky to have witnessed the final moments of an incredible afternoon. Utmost respect to JB and his young team and congratulations to WaQ for taking a gamble and sticking by his manager. Just a shame the Screen Soccer boys were not present to film today’s game.

WaQ is a spoilt little boy and has totally screwed us over from the day he walked in the door. What is so depressing is that thousands of Rovers fans can’t see it. He can walk away after selling the Mem and the ‘training ground’ and probably be up on the deal. I will not be attending another game until he has gone. An unmitigated disaster.

WaQ has been an utter disaster. He is from Jordan. The Dunfords were from Longwell Green/Saltford and were milkmen. I know who made a better job of running the club. Am I racist?

I think Rovers are paying for everything. I don’t know if Rovers pay rent to Dwane Colony but if they did it should only be a ground rent because we have already paid for the facilities and the staff who manage and work there are Rovers staff. The accounts should show transactions with related parties but with the new minimalist format I’m not sure they will. I find it amazing that Rovers are paying for work at a property that they dont own,if Rovers are ever sold the new buyer wouldnt own the training ground that the club have contributed to. The other thing that could happen is that the green belt planning rules could change (there has been talk of that happening in the future) and the training ground land could be sold and as Rovers dont own it they wouldnt get anything. Exactly this. The training ground saga carries absolutely no financial risk. Land values have gone up in the last few years. If planning regs change and the land can be developed further then it gets sold at a profit. Smoke and mirrors.

The Al Qadi’s have been a total and utter disaster for my club from the day the grinning loons walked through the door. Five years of mis managed decline, all the goodwill of the double promotion frittered away. A two faced, dishonest bunch of charlatans. I wouldn’t blame Joey B***** for leaving. Who in Earth would want to work for an utter bunch of clowns like this lot? I have gone past caring to be honest. My first game in 1974 and Mr ‘Evolution not Revolution’ has extinguished any passion I have ever had for BRFC. I wish he’d just F off.

Coming up five years in February of ‘Evolution not Revolution’. I’ve had enough of it. Mr AQ and his lackeys have extinguished any passion I had left for this club I have followed since 1975. Absolutely clueless chumps blindly going from one crisis to the next. I wouldn’t trust them to make a decent appointment for a sh*thouse cleaner vacancy.

I think I've posed this question before... but here goes again. Why did we give BG the job with a paper thin CV and no managerial experience (coaching aside)? Is there a personal tie with Wael that goes back to chelski / west London? If I'm wrong - fine. But I just can't see why he was in the frame when GC got the job, and why he was fast-tracked in when GC went post-Ipswich. An away win and Tom Nichols scored. Crikey. One to live long in the memory. To answer the question it may be worth looking at the similarities between Ben and Wael. Both are passionate about football and both have been desperate to be significant in the football business. But neither is blessed with the exceptional natural ability which would have given them a fast direct route to a role of importance Ben spent fifteen years graduating from coaching youngsters to playing a peripheral supporting role to team managers and hoping to be asked to make the step up but then his career hit a brick wall. Wael presumably spent twenty years securing himself a minor role in Jordanian football while dreaming of making the transition from a boyhood Chelsea fan to a position of significance somewhere within the European game. The two men are limited in their ability to actually earn a place at the “top table” but both are extremely adept at persuading others, and in particular the media, that they have exactly what is needed. Ben is able to bamboozle us with technicalities which we don’t understand and so we instinctively assume that “if he knows this much he must be absolutely super- dooper with the mundane basics of football coaching”. And Wael carries the calm manner of a well educated successful businessman so, without actually examining the detail of what he says, we are easily convinced that is what he is. The reality is that neither has any serious achievements to his name but, through “credibility via association” for one and through family money for the other, both have been able to attain the significant role they covet. It may be that Ben and Wael are two similar personalities with comparable strengths and weaknesses who found an instant affinity when they were brought together. Yes, and in the meantime the pair of em are completely f**king us over.

I suspect it’s quite the opposite. 5 live love a good opportunity to pearl clutch on managers not being given a chance but even they would be asking “why is he still there!”. In fact that makes me think the only reason Garner is getting away with this is because we are a fairly obscure lower league club. Imagine if Mike Ashley hired a manager and still kept him in post after 2 wins in a calendar year. The media would be in over drive branding him a disgrace, saying he doesn’t care about the club, managed decline, won’t someone think of the poor suffering fans etc. 2 wins in 24 games would be a massive story in the goldfish bowl of the prem but because it’s little old Bristol Rovers either no-one gives a s*** or it’s just something to laugh about I think Rovers are undergoing a mismanaged decline. Absolutely correct. The Owner hasn’t a clue. We are stuffed.

I think a Xbox Championship Manager addict would have won more games than this Garner . Stay classy. He may not be up to the job, but he seems like a nice bloke who’s giving his all to be a success here. It’s not working, but not sure he deserves the tasteless name-calling. You are quite right. I retract that remark and apologise.

Garner is absolutely f**king sh*te. End of. I sense you’re not happy this evening. or probably not any Saturday evening in 2020 The whole sorry saga is of no surprise to me. After the first couple of games I posted somewhere we have another Dobson on our hands. This fool has surpassed Dobson by a country mile. The Precocious One will hide behind his disastrous appointment hoping no one will notice. Al Qadi has extinguished any passion I had left for my club.
