My point was, any bits that are having money spent on them that isn't either necessary or will give an almost instant return on investment is just another indicator that nothing's happening with stadium development in the foreseeable. Can we forget about a new stadium now do you reckon?

How am I going to sleep at night if that's the case?

With Macclesfield back in we are now up a place in the ground rankings with Accrington below us as well. Accrington are currently redeveloping one stand, Macclesfield built a stand as recently as 2001.
I think to say they're both worse than the Mem could even be stretching it.

Oh FFS.
The club try to make the matchday experience a better one for some, and maybe even encourage a few more to have a drink at the ground, and all people can do is moan.
Is it a new ground or even a new stand? No
Will it be better than the 70s throwback that used to pass for a bar? Probably yes.
Is it more than the previous owners have done to the ground facilities? 100 per cent yes.
Rome wasn’t built in a day.

The date at which it collapses (and therefore ancient Rome stops being 'built') appears to be 476 AD. So that's 1,229 years rather than a day. Banter aside - good news if we are getting an upgrade to the bar facilities. UTG.

'Rome wasn't built in a day', so what ? Rovers don't need a city built they need a stadium built, the Colosseum took 8 years to build ! (AD72-AD80) and held 50,000 to 80,000 people. 10 or 11 months into "regeneration" and probably not a line drawn on a piece of paper the owners better get a move on if they want to use the Romans as an example.

All that's happened is that we are trying to understand if this means that a full stadium rebuild is less likely. Some people eh, always trying to see the negative side

Wouldn’t turn my nose up at a decent bar in the meantime....clearly some would.
Weird.

what have the Romans or Jordanians ever done for us ? They're all splitters I tell you. Splitters......or was that some one else? Was talking to my mate down at The Colosseum (or was it The Arena?) about this the other day...he wasn't sure either.

Anyone with even a smidgen of business acumen would really try to hang on to a captive audience of 8-9000 customers. The bars behind the Blackthorn have always been a disgrace. This should have been done 20 years ago. We should want to turn up before the game and spend money in the clubhouse, also after the game with the match highlights. The pubs around Trashton are moaning that all the Sheet heads now drink at the stadium. Jesus it’s not difficult is it?

has anyone heard if Jordanian citizens' visas are subject to additional scrutinies and delays - it could explain a lot?

has anyone heard if Jordanian citizens' visas are subject to additional scrutinies and delays - it could explain a lot? Nope...but if so the chances of taking up Israeli citizenship to get around the problem would be pretty remote I would have thought!

I blame everything on Peter Parker for confusing us with the word Regeneration. Regeneration was the term used to describe the 2005 scheme for completely rebuilding the Mem to increase capacity to 18 000 and incorporating student accommodation to help fund it. The welcome improvements we are seeing now are merely updating some facilities to a standard which any reasonable person would expect to find at a sports stadium in 2018.

And nobody has complained or criticised, but people are moaning about non-existent criticism. Life's confusing sometimes.
