Chance to watch our Under 18s at the Mem on Tuesday 17 Nov at 7pm. Just £3 to watch from West Stand. Go and see our youth side apparently the winners will be home to Man City in the next round.

Noticed the team news, we have a Phillips in goal, Ellington up front and a Mehew in midfield lets hope their as good as the originals. Winning 2-0 at half time. Do they play in the quarters? every picture I see looks like they wear the training shirts.

Lost 3-1 pens.
Pompey scored 3goals in 9mins of normal time.
Sack the board. Higgs out. DC pack yet bags..

Entertaining game 6 goals ...4 pens scored Two wind assisted goals saw Rovers youth go two up in first nine mins and in total control of the first half. Neat passing and fine play by Mehew, Kilgour and Green. Second half was still fairly comfortable and Mehew should have scored a third for Rovers. 2-0 up until 15 mins from time when Pompey scored themselves with a wind assisted free kick. Rovers by then had subbed best player Mehew and Pompey scored three goals in that nine minute spell. A late mad scramble saw a deserved equaliser at the death by Green. Extra time and no further chances and a penalty shoot out Rovers starting poorly missing 3 of their four kicks as Pompey scored all their three. The three subs for Rovers seriously weakened the side and the miss to put them three up early in the second period was crucial.

I see another promising youth player has just left for the bright lights and pay pack of London, this time to Fulham.
Just makes you wonder why we bother with youth football, the best ones seem to be snatched away before we get a chance to see them in the first team, and we get pittance for developing them.

Sadly the only youth players financially worth developing are the ones that are only going to reach L2-L1 max.
The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. This is why we need investment and better facilities.

Real shame we lost that one... the blokes i was next to informed me that Man City at home was the reward for the winners.
Fair play to pompey - they bought a fair few fans... I was near a car load of their fans who im pretty sure didn't have a relative playing - that's a very long way to travel on a windy tuesday night for an under 18 game!
