Maybe they do. I took it to mean DC. I guess we'll find out in the next week or two ... You think he will still be here then .

40 years ago today for those who were there you will probably never forget it for all the wrong reasons that day summed up all what was wrong with football in the seventies fans treated like animals in a s**thouse of a ground roll on four decades and they have won the premiership and a have a magnificent stadium and we have 3 tents ps condolences to all who have lost their lives in the terrible helicopter crash yesterday

The Moon was my local and I went in there last night for the first time in around 30 years! There was a period in the 80s where it would be rammed on a Friday afternoon/early evening and if 'Shaft' came on the jukebox a certain woman would ,err, 'do a turn'! I will never forget the sight of Pat Criddle going round collecting 10ps for the juker and then just selecting 'Shaft' time after time! Poor old Pat. He ended his days scrounging pints, mainly in Staple Hill spoons. I’d always buy him a few as he stood up for me when I was 16 and badly outnumbered. He had no fear, given his size. I have fond memories. He died after walking out of Frenchay and was found dead within its grounds. RIP Pat. I wish I could speak & talk about his family even half as well Grew up on the same road as the criddles think there were 12 of them they are all different in those days big families were the norm on our street ( long road mangotsfield) there were about eight families with ten kids or more some tough f**kers came out of that road

at the risk of repeating myself, I have said nothing about his views. What I have said is that you displaying classist and religionist prejudice on here is not OK Ummmm, yes you did. You said that the only unfortunate characteristic was his prejudice towards females, so, by default, you support the other things mentioned. I disagree, very strongly. But I think you've got that. But it is a football forum, so I'll leave it there. As a footnote, he uses the Eton thing as a prop for humour himself, so you shouldn't get too hung up on that. I know a few places in Scotland and Ireland that you might get hung up for your bigoted comments

Whilst waiting for something to materialise, I have decided to follow Nino Firetto on Twitter. I remember when he used to DJ at Chasers and walked around Eastville with a roving mike at Eastville. He introduced me to "Do I do" by Stevie Wonder, so I will always be indebted. Relevance? He is the archetypal fantasist like Wael. He might know something as well!! Went to school with some of his “family” remember he had a really tasty bird but his family were more “tasty” think Carlo was his uncle

I do certainly recall the Old Fox!, Black Swan, White Swan, Eastville Social Club, I was a local in the early eighties living in Napier Road (alongside Eastville Stadium). I also remember upstairs in the White Swan was a members only 'Milkman's' Club!. Unigate club you would do well to see a milkman in there on a Friday afternoon had many a drink after hours with the likes of paddy Aggie desi Mac and dempo seemed to remember wetting my eldest daughters head in there and she’s 32 don’t think there’s any real rovers pubs left now god I miss the old rovers pubs full moon ,the trident, anchor at Flton ,black swan redfield and of course the archers you’d be a brave s**thead to show you face in those in the seventies and eighties

Good idea KWP get the thread back onto football and good days we have. Why have a pop at Bristol and any other place for that matter? We all love where we live ....don’t we? I havent lived in Bristol for 50 odd years but still stand up for it. Blimey just because we prefer a place doesn’t mean other places are s***. 😉 UTG! Spot on. I had 8 long years living in Manchester (vastly over rated place) and couldn't have been happier to move back to the greatest city in the United Kingdom. Bristol is mint. I didn’t rate strangeways that much either

I know something, but I don't if it's the truth or when it is going to happen. A sceptical ITK. The online petition is dead and Hamer is not a Soccer pundit. Facts. I know something as well we are as fans powerless to affect what happens unless a real fan with deep pockets turns up we are at the mercy of people who’s only motivation is money the future of this club lies in the hands of people with no real love for it the Al-Qadi family only got into this for money and that’s gone sour but they paid less for the club than its main asset was worth so they can still come out of this without a loss but we as fans will be homeless again any new owners will want a return on any investment which doesn’t look very likely so as for most of our history we will stumble on from one crisis to another for us older fans is nothing new but I fear the next generation will not be the same I genuinely fear for the future of this great club hi

Consortium headed by Jersey business man will take over pumping £250m in over 5 years
Training will happen at the new 4G pitches next to M32
Memorial stadium and Filton plot will be exchanged in land deal with UWE and UWE stadium will be builtI don't smoke, but will happily take it up some of that stuff To come up with that lot you would have to be on a lot stronger stuff than weed😎☁️9

Shame to miss you yesterday. We were with Reg and old Costa Del Daley. There was an auction for a jumper which was pretty much the highlight of the afternoon. 😁 I thought £2.50 was a very generous offer! Two big spenders there

scary when you look back and reflect how long ago that was mind, wally loved his clothes, i vividly recall a green checked suit he had around that time Yes a very long time ago,the last time I was in there was the night before Bobby Goulds Rovers debut in October 77 ! it was like a saloon fight scene in an old western that night. Pretty sure I was about that night in between the golden triangle of the wheatsheaf beer Keller and the Rupert probably the most dangerous place in town in those days with us the teds and gangs of valley commandos waiting for their co@ches punks weren’t very popular in the bars in town so could only drink in those few

So on the assize courts was you miles shiny Claude sapphire and the bloke who used to skate around the centre in speedos and surely princess court was funk central I knew them all, went to school with Claude and Derek, Sapphire lived at the top of my road, spent most of my time trying to avoid him!, you are correct, Princess court was indeed another of the hang outs as was Tiffany's on a Monday night!. Miles, we don't mention him for obvious!, and the Saville esq old Skater in Speedo's or really tight Harlem Globetrotter type shorts was indeed a sight to behold!, had a real blast around that time!.. Ah Derek he was a hard f**ker had a run in in princess court with them all got a bit nasty spilled onto park st he caught a nasty one from one of ours with a vacaum cleaner him and his mate Feldman heard Derek passed on mental times rember they all had blond stripes in there afros looked like a load of skunks

Maybe Rovers can turn this into a positive for player recruitment. Just send a copy of this court report to every players agent and perhaps they will see Bristol as somewhere that is virtually impossible to get a custodial sentence rather than a place where house prices are high.
Wish it was that hard when I was at it

Greebo ,!!! How I miss the seventies toeneders greebos punks skins rude boys what a mix 🕴👨🎤🏍oh and the knowle West boot boys Hello mucker, Good to see you posting again. I remember, at 19, my brother asking me if I wanted a weekend’s door work at what was then Lords nightclub and they had a strict no Knowlers policy. Anyway, long story short, they managed to get in by being with birds and then kicked off. My god, I have never seen so much claret all over the place as the older and bigger guys amongst the bouncers had their tool of choice stashed away. I was lucky in ending up with just another break of my nose but if I hadn’t had my brother looking out for me then I honestly believe I would have been thrown down those carpeted but concrete steps. I don’t care what anyone may think of them but those knowlers certainly stuck together in those day. I’m making a rough guess that this was around 82/83 & before they had even heard of crack, let alone used it. I always seemed to get into rows with them and the B***** hill battle bus boys. I’m sure you will know who I’m talking about. I was too young to know fear in those days. I look back on it now and realise how lucky I was in the good boys I had around me. To close this, I once ended up in the same cell as the late and crazy Billy Cole. The OB certainly dealt him out some terrible punishment ! I wasn’t all the surprised when I heard he had died. He was just too crazy mate. As I said, good to see you posting and hope all is good with you and your family Thanks mate all fine here yes those B***** hill boys had a good mob few of them gone now Jeff ,dog ,billy ,Roy savage to name a few as for those Westers they always stuck together one of my mates got stabbed by a well known one of them outside Lourdes on a Thursday night nearly f**king killed him that was late seventies I went to school with a few of them and knew some through bristol Irish Gaelic football but it was always knowle first I think even at Ashton they keep apart from the rest anyway hope your keeping well UTG
