40 years ago today for those who were there you will probably never forget it for all the wrong reasons that day summed up all what was wrong with football in the seventies fans treated like animals in a s**thouse of a ground roll on four decades and they have won the premiership and a have a magnificent stadium and we have 3 tents ps condolences to all who have lost their lives in the terrible helicopter crash yesterday

I went to 14 away games that season,I was still an apprentice and on cr@p money too but football was a cheap day out then compared to now. I think that the days out at Leicester and Palace and the night game at Swansea were most memorable (as you say for the wrong reasons) the atmosphere at matches then was brilliant it seems so dull going to a game now,at Burton I was looking at my watch after 12 minutes. I wonder if Rovers will ever get to the 2nd tier again ? it wont be until Dwane have pi$$ed off that's for sure.

Look where we were then as opposed to now, and how many other club's fortunes have fared in the last 40years.
Not detracting from a terrible tragedy and all, condolences to all involved.

Money though like everything else. Didnt the Leicester owner write off 30 odd million. Condolonces to all at Leicester and the families of all involved. Must be a horrible feeling at training today

Absolutely tragic, an example of a foreigner owner coming in and investing financially and emotionally not only in a club but the local area. It's a real shame that only when someone is lost you start hearing stories of philanthropy and kindness. By the sounds of it the pilot also did a heroic job ensuring that the helicopter went down in an area with few people around. Post-match there could have been dozens killed if it had gone down into a crowd or even the stadium...
It's just all very sad.
