Just to put this out and into perspective he was involved in a motoring incident recently and in trying to run away he hit someone in his panic which is normal when a youngster has an accident.no one was hurt but he been fined and disqualified. He has apologised to all concerned and promised this will never happen again As a youngstereo we all did stupid things that we subsequently regretted so let's not be hard on the lad and give him our support as he gets over this

No Does it say someone e was hurt? No. But you make a comment.

Ummm, not sure what company the OP keeps, but in my world running away after a RTA isn't normal and never has been regardless of age.
The only sympathy I have is for the fact that the poor lad owned a VW Polo.

Don't think he hit anyone with the car - just knocked into them running away in panic. There is an article in the post. This says that he 'knocked into them', well, 'by beating him', presumably in a race 'running away in panic'. I would prefer he didn't. Rollin Menayese. Juniper Way, Bradley Stoke. Age: 20. Drove a VW Polo in Merlin road dangerously. Assaulted a man by beating him. Must pay £150 compensation. Must carry out 250 hours of work unpaid. Must pay costs of £135. Disqualified from driving for 15 months. Bristol Post court list for Tuesday, August 21Probably another 'Rollin Menayese', what?

As the majority on both forii are keen to say they never believe what the Bristol post prints if that is true about rovers why do you believe they are factually correct now. If he had beaten a man who tried to stop him running away then I would have thought he would get more than a fine. This is why I posted earlier to try to stop this sort of thing. Yes he was an idiot to drive fast in a residential area and to try to run away but that is all. Trust meme the post got it wrong again

padstow , my dear old thing. I have not said that Bristol Post copy is factually correct. Your posting was the first I had read about the allegation. You cited no source of information. Was I supposed not to google search it? If you want to stop this sort of thing... ...actually, I don't know how you can stop this sort of thing. OED has the plural of 'meetings or media for an exchange of views' and 'courts or tribunals' as forums. OED has the plural of '(in an ancient Roman city) public squares or market places used for judicial and other business' as fora. OED have nothing for forii in the Concise; I presume this is a Cornish plural for 'pedantic Gashead internet messageboards'.

You still seem to think it is an article by a journalist in the Post. It is a factual court report.

That's very disappointing. Bradley Stoke FFS. (I'm originally from Winterbourne, so always had a bit of an issue re: Sadley Broke for stealing all that green-belt).

No mention of a fine which makes me think it was a storm in a tea cup probably wouldn't have run if others hadn't got involved, bit of panic and fear and looks to be shown in the sentence ,and I may be wrong but weren't the sentences for dangerous driving increased substantially last year to include a prison sentence either served or suspended . The reason I am questioning the veracity of the newspaper? reports is the way they headlined a rape charge on one of our youngsters a few years ago, literally hanging him out to dry when at the end of the day he wasn't even charged by the cps because he wasn't involved.one day someone will sue that paper for defamation of character and get it closed down

I'll help you out, here are the sentencing guidelines for dangerous driving; Guidelines

Let’s maintain standards. (Or keep it simple and go with ‘forums’). On the other subject: v little second-hand info, not in a position to judge, none of my business, and any opinion I might form and proclaim on that basis is irrelevant.
