My wife made an off the cuff comment last night just before I was about to smash up my iPad along the lines of "maybe they only want one team in bristol " because it seems like the way the club is going you'll never survive and I had a terrible vision of landsdown somehow being behind all this running us into the ground after all no one knew he owned the rugby club for a few years in the eyes of of all s**theads his greatest triumph would be to kill us and he would take great pleasure in doing so our worst enemy could be right amongst us and no one knows except his 5th column spy

Sounds mad but i was thinking 7-8K Steve!!!! I think adversity brings supporters out, they respond to the club they love struggling and like to show defiance to failures. Many also like to think - This is it we've got to start climbing soon and a successful season is there for the taking, surely we can't keep under performing Of course the results of the first few games will drastically effect the attendances. Back to the point, as i say 7-8k was my thoughts, but with it being on TV i will plump for 6k. COME ON ROVERS, LETS GET THIS CLUB MOVING UPWARDS!!! Very optimistic i think 4.5 k max I think you will be surprised how many have had enough how many rovers shirts have you seen about this summer hardly any car badges etc on show plus there isn't that many youngsters going these days against Mansfield there were more men in there 50's and older than there were in there 20's the club is dying on its feet and no one seems to care

I was in the car park after the game behind the dry build stand about 30 yards from the Mansfield fans I saw at least 3or 4 s***heads I know in a group of 10 to 15 being kept apart they were also about at the bottom of glos rd /Cheltenham rd during and after the game these are the sort who scout about looking for stragglers to attack unfortunately on this occasion it went wrong big time Look I'm going on what several Mansfield fans who were in the away end said after the game, they were regulars know most of their own and also said they would have noticed if anything unpleasant was going on and would have got any non Mansfield fans removed. I don't doubt what you saw but were they actually in the away end or just loitering trying to make trouble If of course you were actually in the away end yourself and saw them then I'm happy to accept your word If you read my post you will see I never said they were in the away end I myself watched the game from hype blackthorn end the reason I was in the car park was I was trying to get to the hospitality in the dribuild to meet up with some mates they were there and next time I see the ones I know they will wish they weren't

Obviously I wasn't at the Mansfield game. However I heard reports there were s***heads in with the Mansfield fans. IF that is true I would have thought that this was a major mistake by stewards / police whoever letting them in. And if they were identified as s***heads once inside I don't see any reason they shouldn't have been removed as a safety issue. If there were s***heads at the Mem on that day I can only see that as part of the problem. There were NO Sh!theads in the away end, several Mansfield fans came on the forum after the game to confirm it or else they would have asked stewards to remove them, even our fans next to the away end said they heard no chanting or anything so stop trying to blame our fans behaviour on a non existent presence. I was in the car park after the game behind the dry build stand about 30 yards from the Mansfield fans I saw at least 3or 4 s**theads I know in a group of 10 to 15 being kept apart they were also about at the bottom of glos rd /Cheltenham rd during and after the game these are the sort who scout about looking for stragglers to attack unfortunately on this occasion it went wrong big time

Luton Town's first ever Conference home game was on 11 August 2009 v Mansfield Town they won 4–1 watched by 7,295. Can Rovers beat that gate figure on 9 August ? All together different scenario Luton were docked thirty points and still almost stayed up also won the jpt if my memory serves me right we have been absolute rubbish for several years I think we will be lucky to make 5000

I posted on another forum several months my concerns for this development and indeed the club itself I stated then that Dennis dunford saved us and his son will kill us off we are now at the end game without this ground we are insolvent we can't keep going losing money (1million +) per season the bod are trying to get their money out the only asset they have is the mem if sainsburys pull out the compo will cover their loans then they will look at selling the mem for housing and downsize the club /ground share again hope I am wrong but I fear the worst

I'd have thought that the possibility of BCC throwing a wobbly with Sainsburys if ever they sought planning permission from them in the future for something big or small, plus the likelihood of damage to their reputation in the west country (thousands of gasheads refusing ever to darken the doors of Sainsburys again, for starters) might give them some reason to believe that setting up shop in Horfield as planned would be the lesser of two evils, but their silence on the issue is a bit unnerving. I wouldn't expect the immediate assurances you'd associate with the rosy(ish) picture that Nick Higgs has been trying to paint for us all, but I'd have imagined that if there were no flies in the Sainsbury ointment then it could only be of benefit for them to have said so by now. I don't see that big supermarkets aren't making money anymore I live 500 yards from Asda longwell green and that's as busy now as anytime in the twenty years I've lived here there are also around 3 large sainsburys In what I would call rovers strongholds of kings wood ,Filton and emersons green a boycott of these stores by gasheads would hit them hard in the pocket as well also I don't think they would want to upset bcc and jepodise future developments fingers crossed I don't think I can take any more bad news utg

The point is it is a victory for them because without this distraction the club could have concentrated on keeping us in the league . We would then be playing league football next season and moving into our new ground next August how many fans will we lose over the next two years I believe we will never fully recover from this and may not survive if we get trapped in the conference for more than one or two seasons

favourite player of mine in a gas shirt was Harold jarman loved his wing play....lots of others worth a mention sir ricky lambert...gary mabbutt nigel martyn the list goes on,,,ware did we go wrong....worse player I ever saw seen quite a few....goes to andy spring.....what is your view.....? Worst player without a doubt has to be andy spring absolute clown and the best was Micky Barrett a genius on the pitch and a gentleman off the pitch he would have been a star still shed a tear ever august for him and believe it or not 30 years since his tragic death anyone who saw his goal at Newport which was chalked off will surely agree rip mickey if only we had someone with a 10 th of his talent now and that idiot Gould tried to get rid of him
