Nick Higgs and the rest of the mad Hatters tea party if you are still blocking players coming into the club at least have the honesty to say we can't afford them.
what in the name of God is wrong with you man .... We desperately desperately need one striker and a winger.... Your manager has allegedly found them and you are " negotiating" with the parties involved ...all of which allegedly want the deals to happen.
someone, somewhere in the chain is lying .... Past history probably tells us who it is....
Two games played ....no goals scored .... The squad is the worst ever assembled in my 40 plus years as a fan. ... Yet you still fiddle whilst Rome burns !
Your manager tonight gifted the points to Barnet .... Dropping Parkes, Leadbitter when they were most needed by a raw teenager in goal is totally beyond me .... Barnet are an aggressive team who move the ball quickly , playing to Akindes strength ... We lose our goalie so let's change the rest as well .... DC you messed up big tonight! ......Again!
something needs to change very very quickly .... The cancer in this club is still very apparent ..... Either bring in fresh accomplished players or genuinely prepare for another relegation threatened season. My gut feel is Conference South will be a reality post Christmas!

Yeah it seems pretty suspicious how for years we've had loads of overpriced journeymen and injury prone players, wonder if anyone gained out of that? Now things are being done on the cheap as the previous is no longer an option. I dunno just all seems a bit fishy to me.

DC said tonight the striker we agreed terms with had decided to go to Dagenham instead and the winger is going to cost to much so he is going to have to look elsewhere.

Two games in then and still he hasn't assembled the team needed ... Every bloody season excuse excuse excuse....
The striker going to Dagenham is a total nonsense .... Is that really how far we have fallen !
As for the too expensive winger ... Everyone wanted the deal to happen and. Yet it's out of our financial structure ... A waste of two weeks basically ....
Shambles gentlemen ! Total shambles!

The worst squad ever assembled in your 40 years as a fan!? Bit harsh to say the least, last years bunch of lazy barstewards took that title for me. Every year after one defeat we get this 'worst team in history' shout. Agree that we are a few short and it is disappointing that we appear to have missed out on a few but look at us! We're a conference club and the fans have started to panic after ONE defeat, no wonder players aren't interested! With regard the financial side, I guess it's no different to your budget at home, some people can afford to shop at Waitrose others need to shop at Lidl, that's life I guess! God only knows how bad some gasheads lives must be with all the negativity they show!?

Might be one defeat but the end of last season, then pre-season didnt offer any encouragement.
Even though we are in the doldrums it doesnt say much for a player who chooses the mighty Dagenham over the too big for the league Bristol Rovers - I doubt the truth will ever surface as to what happens behind the scenes, it all seems to be about passing the buck to someone else all the time

Still no cutting edge - Still no width - Still no creative midfield - Still messing around with the defence
And still, the Mad Hatters Tea Party are running this club into the ground
"You do not mount a serious promotion challenge with a 16 man squad".
And still there were over 7,000 optimist last Saturday, still willing to spend their hard earned money watching this club fall from grace.
Still, Mr Higgs you must be so proud - Yes, you are a real winner!!

I think we have been through enough defeats in the past five years to know better than anyone just what works and what does not. Changing a team/formation that kept a clean sheet in the previous match is one thing that does not work. Waking up this morning, I still can't get my head around it. Anyway, the real test now awaits us in the next two matches. Two teams that were Conference South/North last season. Two teams that (forgive me if i'm wrong) are also part time.
We need two positive results.

“I put an offer on the table for a striker, but the lad has opted to go to Dagenham,” said Clarke. “I am really disappointed with that one because he had real presence and we had agreed terms. The wide player I have been tracking for a while is very, very expensive, so it is back to the drawing board on that front.”

Probally that striker was Zavon Hines then. Mind you if it was he had previously played for Dagenham in the past.

"I knew we were in trouble when I looked at their team, there were players that I could not afford"

Here's a scenario for you ~ Toni the Till has finally worked out the cost of relegation and prepared a budget. He has realised that actually we are in the sh!t money wise. He also realises that his friends (not NH) on the BoD will continue to lose money in the position we are now and lose most of their money if UWE is not built. Advises said friends not to put in any more money or lose it. Said friends say to NH that no more money will be forthcoming until UWE built. NH has to say to DC that money that he thought would be forthcoming is not going to be there......tighten your belt.
I sincerely hope that is not the case but I personally think it is going to be a rough ride until the UWE is built.

How long can the downward spiral towards oblivion be allowed to go on?

So that was naïve, useless and a total waste of time. Clearly he doesn't know his market.
The season's started, and the best options at our level have probably already gone (these aren't highly-paid prima donnas hanging out for millions - they are journeyman pros who want some degree of security).
The season will be nearly 15% over by the end of the transfer window.
Let's say another 4 games after that to bed in any new signings - by then it will be nearly 25% complete.
If he wanted a striker and a wide player he should have brought them in a long time ago, to maximise their influence.
I find this almost unbelievable.

At outset let me say I like DC, I like most of his signings and the way he talks sense. I lived in Salisbury for many years and have many friends with season tickets at Salisbury City all of their lives and they tell me DC is straight, knowledgeable, brought decent players to them through his contacts in game and will get it right.
The worry I have is that I've personally seen Higgs and 'ano' Director plus Boycie on TV and all have assured us DC has vast experience managing in the Conference. Which is a strange comment anyway given he's only 36 and played up to age of 34 (laterly as player manager) but we'll leave that for a second.
Problem is - did they actually know the facts?
The way they talk you'd have thought DC managed at Conference Premier level, or at least Conference South level for many seasons, or played their for 10 years or something.
DC played for Salisbury before relegated to Southern League , but only managed them for two seasons at Conference South level.
(I've even heard directors say he got promotions 2 years running which isnt correct either, they had 2 years at Conference South)
After Higgs said the 'DC has vast experience managing in this league' comment at BRSC EGM, he genuinely looked shocked when a fan said 'err no actually he's never managed a team in the Conference Premier'
May just be me, but hopefully we made the right appointment, just not necessarily for the right reasons

To be fair - it states that he had agreed personal terms - that to me indicates that we got damn close to signing the player, so saying he doesn't know his market is a bit of a mute point really.
Although I do agree that it would have been ,uch better to have had all of our required players before the start of the season and bedded in.

Up there with "we were only in the relegation zone for 7 minutes".
Despite admitting not having a clue about the implications of relegation, Higgs was able to confidently assert that we would have one of, if not the, highest playing budgets in the division within days of going down.
I wonder why we are where we are.
