Now being offered a ticket for £200 on twitter by someone who appears to have purchased about 16 of them. I didn't even think a group purchase like that was possible. Still not an inkling of a response from our fans are so important, family bollocks club. Grass him up. I would. No one should profiteer from fellow Gas.

It’s not the fact that I cant get a ticket that annoys me, as others have mentioned I could have hedged my bets and bought a ticket weeks ago, given. But its the lack of an alternative to going to the match that bugs me out. Pseudo-live text or radio if we’re lucky, come on ffs its 2022 not 1982. Seeing as the match is a sell out - can't Rovers do something to stream it over Youtube / Facebook? I don't see why the EFL would have an issue with that. Alternatively you'll need to go abroad to watch it on iFollow. Make sure your kids don't mess around with your VPN... It is Football League and FA rules I’m afraid, that 3pm Saturdays are sacrosanct, outside of international weekends. And rightly so. It’s fine showing Saturday’s game, but if it sets a precedent up for all 3pm kick offs we will end up with pubs rammed for Liverpool v Bournemouth on Gloucester Road at the same time as we are playing. In the NFL there is a rule that a game can only be shown live within a hundred mile radius of the stadium if the game is a sell out. Maybe the EFL could do something like that?

I told you I don’t like that FGR chairman, some of you called me out for saying it. Looking at this guzzler, people desperate for a ticket to (still historically rare) Rovers promotion party, in that recent willingness to get gasheads in the ground, it’s possible we could have breached some EFL rules on away ticketing? My own impression is that DV doesn't like us much. Shouldn't be a surprise it's them complaining. Is this the same DV who ripped up hundreds of conference play tickets due to the ‘wrong postcode’? FGR could make the Championship, and they will always be a tinpot outfit funded by one man’s ego for me. When he’s gone they will do a Bury, guaranteed.

Given it's a sellout, won't it be available on iFollow? Granted not the same as being there but grab a few beers with some fellow Gasheads in the same boat and it's a good second best. Not in the UK. It’s a 3 pm Saturday kick off and league rules state that, other than international weekends, no ifollow.

Don’t mind Exeter and Swindon winning, and Sutton can’t catch us if we win our last two after the weekend. Just need Mansfield to drop points more than anything. With that scenario if Exeter and us win both games we finish third.

No one wants to see them celebrating promotion on our pitch in front of less fans than even Barrow would bring tomorrow do they?

I assume you are referring to the Boardroom split at the Mem 10 years after Rovers left Twerton. In the past you have complained when that particular issue has been debated by those of us who were involved so why you are raising it now when as far as I can see it is totally unconnected to this thread is beyond me. Gary wasn't directly involved in that particular debacle either. As Dr Faustus has said elsewhere he and Gary became close friends as a result of meeting someone who he thought he disagreed with, on the then discussion boards. For a time Gary and I disagreed on a few issues but in the end we both had (I think) similar views on the idea of supporters involvement in the running of a football club. On the issue being debated on this thread I am in total agreement with Gary. Regards John Malyckyj That’s nice then and i am pleased to hear it as i value loyalty, very much BUT i can, with a fair amount of certainty, know who will post when this is mentioned and my point that i tried to make, is that sometimes it feels like a closed shop when i believe this forum really needs new blood, instead of the same people who then can be quite vitriolic towards new posters. John, no one has to agree with anyone else but i think it would make for a more vibrant and better forum, were certain posters more tolerant and able to at least reply , politely. I remember when i first posted here, due to my ex’s photos, being ,made to feel very unwelcome and belittled, fortunately I am very thick skinned and so the more i got in abuse, the more i posted. Others are more easily shooed away and do not come back. On the whole, this has never been a welcoming place and certain posters will attempt to make you feel bad, it doesn’t work with me. I am not in a popularity contest nor do i wish to be in with their crowd. as for Gary ? My view is unimportant in the great scheme of things but let’s just say i have received messages on two platforms on that topic but will leave it there. I was actually waiting for you to post, surprised me it was not earlier. So, you now think its ok to tell another poster to FO and go elsewhere, i had you down as bigger than that. Ah well, nevermind If this trolling that you are indulging in carries on, then I will have no option than to take this to a higher authority. You say that you have received to messages on other platforms about me. How dare you do this. I now actually feel unsafe due to your obsession with finding out about me. It is none of your business. I feel right now that you are actively threatening my well-being. Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t report you to the police for stalking. I just want to go to a game, have a good time with my friends, watch a decent game of football and go home again. My partner and family are much more important to me than Bristol Rovers FC. All the events of 2006 are irrelevant. I’m begging you please to leave me alone.

Ok, i will say it, the words some will not. You and a select few obviously played a part in the now infamous 2006 twerton uprising. It seems most of you hate triggered by the same things, telling others to foxtrot Oscar and saying they are dinosaurs is not close to polite, you believe you are protecting someone/something when what you do is belittle and make others feel unwelcome by suggesting these things. Just my opinion and again, i have no doubt you are a decent guy in the flesh but PLEASE try to accept others have differing views, sans the faux offence. I like this place, i would like to see more use it. eppinggas goes out of his way to keep it going, after some sterling work by JeffNZ , it is not a private club, made for those who heroically fought for RAFC. Sorry, i will finish this when i am back from duty. Please try to accept and even give some Freemason to post here instead of some abuse. It does no good to anyone. I think we are sailing close to maybe not being here if things carry on as they are but that is not my decision. I am not judging as i do not know you, i like many of your posts but not the holier and better than thou attitude. Another I’d be interested to meet, maybe you, i and Vaughan coulld have a drink sometime. I hope you do not take this the wrong way as i have no anger at all, i just would like to see others encouraged to post more often and get more on here is all regards julian What is this infamous event of which you speak? I’d love to know as well.

ive just replied to a load of misogynistic, out of date nonsense, and I’m the one who is in the wrong? If you look at Gaschat they descend very quickly into discussing porn. Sometimes it’s not actually about you. I will take no lectures from someone whose favourite pastime in the 70s and 80s was physically assaulting other human beings for the crime of supporting other football teams. And as for the rest of your word salad, I am not holier than thou and never have claimed to be. I deplore racism, sexism and all round misogyny. That is all. Why hijack a thread with the kind of attitudes that should have gone out with Love Thy Neighbour or Mind Your Language? If it makes me ‘woke’ or some other derogatory term to make people who have no problem with belittling others feel better about their beliefs, I really couldn’t care.

But I do like the idea of switching to punning match day threads. What’s next? it’s Salford gonna be good! Whose Port in a promotion storm? See Green go Blue. Dale gotta get beaten. Who put the **** into this season? I’m going with small town near Keynsham.

With greatest of respect, can’t you feck off back to Gaschat and continue trolling their thread? We’ve got enough dinosaurs on here already. Not necessary and we should welcome views, of all kinds. Not like we having a thriving forum as it is, think about the person who pays for it and probably thinks is it worth it. Open and frank discussion, as long as it’s not rude nor abusive, should be welcomed and not told to F off. Have a word with yourself, please. The irony is that, by telling another to do sod, makes you the dinosaur if anything I’ve had a word with myself and I’m doing just fine, thanks for suggesting it.

When I go to my kind of middle aged men’s curry nights and whatnot, and my wife goes out to her friends things, generally we appreciate the company of our own sex for a short while. I mean, at the curry night, do we really want to introduce the wives? We have to tone down the swearing, the anarchic banter. Every guy suddenly has to think of his wife’s opinion. Also, with the opposite sex, invariably we will start competing in some ways. Then on the way back, any man who is £5 better off than me or has a newer reg car, my wife will drop subtle hints as to how I should be doing as well as James or Bob. Similarly, at her nights, she really doesn’t want me there! They can express themselves as they wish without judgement or potential arguments. She can moan about me and her friends can moan about their partners! Now, to football. All my life, anyone has been welcome. My sister and I went with my dad in the 80s and everyone was kind to my sister. Nobody told her “this is a man’s game - go home. Hur hur hur” I think the fear is with these campaigns is it’s not debating the inclusion of women, it’s the narrative of “making it a more welcoming place” I could interpret this as “less shouting. Less swearing. Less edgy banter” - all the things why I don’t invite my wife to my curry nights. Given women are free to attend, what’s the campaign about? To stop the odd idiot shouting “get yet millers oot”? I mean, I doubt my sister would go home in tears. One comment online the other day, a man said he went with his daughter and someone shouted “it’s a man’s game ref!” This was interpreted as “no women allowed” when it was clearly meant to say “these are two grown men and he’s not battling someone who’s 5 stone lighter- let them fight it out” type thing. My daughter loves the ball. She’s aged 2. One day she might express an interest in football and I’ll take her. Or encourage her to play - if she wants to. What I won’t do is insist. If she’s into makeup and stuff like her mum, so be it. Most of the women I’ve known didn’t like football because of a glass ceiling, they just didn’t enjoy it. Most cultures around the world, sport is a male interest primarily. Hence if I take her to the football, it’s not my concern if one game in 20 some berk shouts something rude or sexist, it’s on me to tell my daughter that this is how men act and bond and it’s not on me to shape the behaviour of 6000 men to suit what I want. Encourage participation where possible, but I don’t see any barrier to women coming. These campaigns seem to be more about. I get people want to get more girls to the game and that’s fine, but the angry shouty man is what makes football such a cauldron and such fine entertainment and atmosphere. My fear is if we sanitise it to the level for 11 year old girls we will end up with a rugby atmosphere and lose what’s great and slightly dangerous abojt the game. That edginess which makes the result seem life and death! With greatest of respect, can’t you feck off back to Gaschat and continue trolling their thread? We’ve got enough dinosaurs on here already.

FGR, Northampton, Port Vale and Mansfield all have pretty much banked wins. Whoever loses out of Swindon and Newport are probably out of the picture, and Exeter have a tough trip to Carlisle.
A win today would really cement a top 7 spot for us, and probably give us some breathing space as well, esp. with Vale and FGR on the horizon. Even a draw won’t be that harmful to the play off picture.
