Got to go that way anyway as seeing Paul Heaton at the O2 tomorrow night. Looks like a bit of a much needed lie in then…

We won 2-1. I’ve not felt this cheated since Notts County in 2001.

Great. Should’ve been killed off 20 years ago. Another tinpot ego trip gone.
Mind you we are the fan base that willing entered a share scheme that put the market value of the club on a par with Celtic.

It’s obvious that not a single thing has changed from yesterday.
Those of us who support the football club are accepting (though not necessarily ecstatic) if JB staying.
Those who want him gone will still boycott in spite of not being proven guilty of anything during his tenure at the club. Their loss, but do they have to bang on about it all the sodding time.
Me? I just want BRFC to be the best it can possibly be. So I back the club.

Aside from anything else, this appears to set quite an interesting legal precedent - in circumstances where the alleged victim is unwilling to testify, the accused is unable to get a fair trial. This would appear to rule out quite a substantial number of domestic violence cases from the outset, no? I imagine quite a lot of women are unwilling to bring charges for a whole host of reasons, including fear of retribution or if they are still in a relationship with the alleged attacker. And this is setting aside the fact there were two other witnesses. What a complete shambles of a legal system. so which bit of the legal system do you know more about than a… erm… actual magistrate?

If as DCR has said, the case is dismissed, then that's a line under the whole thing and everyone can move on. Good. UTFG.🏴☠️ You would like to think so. I’ve been accused on Twitter of being pro DV. All I want is for friends to come back and the fan base to unite behind this wonderful football team we have. I’ve been in two abusive relationships so I do not write this lightly. Whatever happened to the phrase ‘innocent until proven guilty’?

It has been an excellent month. 12 points and no reason why we cant get something from derby if we play as we have over the past 6 games. I didnt see this coming from Sept form but delighted we have done so well and are now comfortably mid table. Difference is that we are playing a settled system and formation that suits the players we have here. Now that B***** has stopped tinkering we look a match for anyone. Credit to him for recruiting a good squad who give it their all and that we can be proud of Yes, unbeaten for the whole of October in all competitions so far and there are no reasons for us not to take points from Derby too. The fixture list has us down for only 3 games in November at the moment, all at home to Rochdale, Fleetwood and Peterborough. If we beat Rochdale and get another home draw it could be 4 Saturdays on the bounce at the Mem.

I’ve been trying to join the dots on that one, but have failed. A quick internet search shows the link between him and Stephen Vaughan Snr and another search the link between Stephen Vaughan Jnr and JB's best friend Andrew Taylor. Now of course we can kid ourselves and say there is no link between JB and the Vaughan family but is this a reasonable assumption when we know JB is part of the Liverpool sports scene and has a particular interest in boxing so it is hardly likely he has had no association with them ? But, more to the point, what is there to be afraid of if he does know them and might look to them or someone like them to make an investment in Rovers ? Gasheads don't mind where the money comes from and, in the main, we have shown ourselves willing to give people a chance and not let past mistakes or character flaws prevent us supporting someone if we feel it justified. Who is to say the Vaughan family and their associates have not learned from their previous errors of judgement and would now have something worthwhile to contribute to our club ? Given what happened to Chester under the Vaughan’s watch I’m pretty sure Wael has done his homework there. But this is like the equivalent of Farage’s infamous ‘Turning Point’ poster during the Brexit referendum, completely unnecessary scaremongering and totally irrelevant to the reality of the club’s current situation.

If the justice system concur with the title of this (currently) 130 page thread 'that B***** is unfit to manage Bristol Rovers' on finding him guilty as charged and punish him by issuing a custodial sentence there will be rejoicing and much merry making from those that have repeatedly made plain their misgivings of this appointment. The question I would put to those eager to see the demise of B***** and his exit from Bristol's oldest F.C. - who would be their ideal successor to JB? With the Haunted Wardrobe that is JRM and other genetically modified Tories heralding the return of a rouge as PM of the nation would a returnee be the answer in replacing a displaced rouge at BRFC? Too late for GC. Would Tis' be worth a 2nd chance? What about Ollie? For those firmly or not so firmly behind Mr B***** the conundrum is very different - should he receive a 12 month custodial sentence of which less than 6 months may be spent behind bars then would Mangan and Whelan take the reigns as caretakers? A sentence that would detain JB at Charlies pleasure for more than 12 months may require more detailed strategic planning. I'm sure there is a such risk assessment on a laptop somewhere. Andy Mangham and Glen Whelan eg,to keep things ticking over until JBs release. I don't think there will be a custodial sentence and anyway,JB will be found not guilty. Joe B***** is possibly the best Manager in Rovers history, despite the irreverent title of this thread. I’ll confess to being (on a purely football perspective) a JB convert but to even suggest that he is the best manager of BRFC is for the birds. Minimum requirement for me is a promotion to the second tier - that leaves three candidates, Tann, Megson and Francis. To be happy with mid table Division 3 just shows how far our expectations have fallen. Second thing in the Father Jack tick list is triumph against adversity . Candidates there are Francis (again), Darrell Clarke and (don’t laugh) Bobby Gould for keeping us up in the first Twerton season. Third is for team spirit, and bringing the team and fan base together. For me B***** does come into this area, along with Francis and Clarke. I’ve not mentioned Trollope, Ward or Williams (the best style of football I have ever seen Rovers play) yet. For me it is and always will be Gerry Francis , for what he achieved and achieving it at Twerton when we didn’t have a pot to piss in. JB may be knocking on the Top 5 door, but will need to make the play offs this year to even get close to Top 3.

Huge win, up to 15th and 4 points from the drop zone. What a difference a week makes.
Now to carry the momentum on to Nam on Saturday.
And to see MK (NOT the Dons) struggle so much in a white elephant stadium is just beautiful to see.

This game has sneaked under the radar a bit due to being called off back in August.
Given both team’s recent form, this has all the hallmarks of an early season 6 pointer. A game we can not really afford to lose.
I have confidence of coming back with the three points in front of the usual third full stadium.

Can we please get back to insulting B***** rather than each other? I’d rather get back to supporting Bristol Rovers FC tbh.

i suppose the homeless guy was grateful though that you didn’t set fire to the tenner under his nose, and that the rich household could stash it in their offshore bank account. Back to today thought to the subs did not improve us. Thought Clarke and Anderson were two of our better players in first half and would have hooked McCormick and Loft ahead of them. Struggling to pin down why it was so disjointed. We made yet another ordinary side look so much better than they really are Why are Remainers so tone deaf? I don't want to get into politics but you might want to consider why so many working-class people voted Brexit in the first place - it was to do with the fact that existing arrangements weren't working for them and they wanted to register a 'protest vote' in the hope of an alternative. Not particularly smart or advisable, but if there was an alternative, then perhaps you and other Remainers should have shared it with the rest of us instead of offering such a limp and uninspiring 'Remain' campaign? In any case, I trust you'll concur with me that its pretty sickening to witness advantaged Liberals and members of the political establishment sneer at an underclass who don't share their enlightened wisdom and faith in an elite-based political project (the EU) that has little or nothing to offer the less advantaged of this country. It was racism and a false sense of patriotism. It’s that bloody simple.

Taking my cue from Jordan Sancho and Jude Bellingham my support was loaned out to Germany by Tom Gorringe about 18 months ago. Since then my adopted Union Berlin have gone from strength to strength and now sit top of the Bundesliga. It's a long term loan deal, not sure when it's due to terminate. Your support wasn’t loaned out by anyone, it is entirely your decision.

I had a one game loan to Orlando City FC when on holiday a couple of weeks ago. That was fun.
Otherwise it’s Roma, or Miami Dolphins (different sport I know but…)

My bucket list for Rovers is:
1. First game sat in a new, fit for purpose, stadium 2. erm… 3. That’s it
Games against City are great, but only if we win. One of my worst experiences ever was the Louie Donowa game in 91, them breaking a 6 year drought against Rovers. Waking up Ashton Park Road after with them celebrating all around just absolutely sucked.

Ah, I do enjoy a good fairytale Imagine, running a club who is already losing around 3 million pa then having to pay for the training facility to be changed and added to plus trying to get a stadium for said club. As the family are in finance then I’d imagine they are not that keen on underwriting continual losses plus then building a stadium and sorting the training facility. It’s no fairy tale but more a horror story, think about it Wait until you find out that Geoff Dunford turned down a good offer from Bath Uni to train at their world class facilities, and then charged Rovers a lot more to use the Beeches. It’s always gone on.
