Imagine being the kind of person who wakes up in the morning just itching to say something contrary, because it upsets people who don’t like racism or treating women as lesser humans. Imagine being that desperate to be out of date?
Some cracking examples on this thread. Give your heads a massive wobble.

It's a small club stuck midway between two big ones - Palace and Brighton. Can't see what real future it's got. Also, a large percentage of the locals are historically Chelsea fans.

28th May is the final. If we assume FGR are promoted, then we need Exeter to drop points as Port Vale will be going up automatically. Otherwise, see you all at Wembley. After last night’s results I would say it will be FGR Exeter AND Port Vale for the automatic spots. Even if we beat Vale on Easter Monday we have to better their results in the other 5 games, due to their superior goal difference. Unless we win 6-0 at the Wembley of the North.

Renewed mine. £315 for the West Terrace, although it was £370 at start of the day. Seems to be more cock up rather than conspiracy., well done to Rovers for getting it sorted.

Fake news ...they have increased to cover Ticket Diaster commission and pay off Leon Clarkes hotel tab. Plus I suspect covid costs. Are you pissed? Well, not having comps anymore must be a right pisser for him.

Yet again, you manage to see negatives only. Well done. You just can’t please some people I’m afraid. It seems increasingly apparent that there are some people flatly refusing to be pleased, no matter how good the football. And it is very, very good right now.

The football is certainly a pleasure to watch but it’s also great to be around the ground. So many happy smiling faces, people enjoying a day out meeting up with old/new friends. There appears to be a lot of young families as well. We definitely are a great community club. UTG Agree with all of that. Some really positive changes. Some things don't change though...you still avoided buying a round yesterday. 😁 Let's hope Rangers finish the weekend off nicely by winning against the stripey lot. Old Firm game. That would be an ecumenical matter. Oh, and Hail Hail! 😉

You got yours from the Jonathan Ross collection though, didn't you? Last home game, you were proudly wearing your Choose Wife t shirt. Rex probably had his Fw**kie Says Welax shirt on at the stripy lt in Glesca. Spot on, I’ve also got an Uptown Top W**king one! Still got my Beat T-shirt with W**nking Full Stop on it.

If season ended now Tranmere v Port Vale ROVERS v Newport County My predicted World cup draw today England. Uruguay Poland and Ecuador in same group. you can’t have two South American countries in the same group. So Cameroon then.

Why are posters still banging on about B***** being suspended the fact is he wasn't and most paying fans don't that concerned, given Saturday's game looks being the second consecutive Saturday sell out. B***** looks very likely now to be found not guilty, assuming the CPS still even continue with the case, and so it will soon be forgotten. Because posters keep misrepresenting the reasons some fans arnt going. Stop doing that and il stop positing this. So you are giving up watching Rovers because of the manager, basically? Seems a bit daft when there really and honestly is so much good stuff happening at the Mem right now. B***** is an irrelevance in the grand scheme of things.

It was Ellis, who was questioned, but never arrested or charged as best to my recollection I thought it was Junior Agogo. It went to trial where he was found Not Guilty. Correct. Can’t remember any mass boycotts then. Just shows the total hypocrisy of the current situation (including my own sometimes).

At this point can I just point out that not that long ago we had a star Centre Forward who was charged with rape.
We gave him 100% unequivocal backing. So what’s changed in the presumption of innocent until proven guilty?

Well, go then. I`m more likely to join the temperance society than sing B*****`s name, or even applaud him; but allow one bad apple to keep me away. Not happening. 1 bad apple? Wael and Starnes employed him. Who at the club made the decision not to suspend him (the only ethical choice), who made the choice to call it a victimless crime? . TG launched an all staff pro JB publicity campaign with that cringey bulls**t from Pete in the club shop. The clubs become a corporate bland project void of morality, values, ethics, spirit or soul. The fact everyones ignored that because we won a few games is as much a reason for me not going as anything else. Then theres the farce that is her game too which had become more of a fashion brand then a feminist movement. Anyway, you are all lovely and im sorry to write this Let’s bring back the crap corner shop drowning in unsustainable debt run by amateurs shall we? And you are bang out of order on the club shop and Her Game Too thing.

Fair enough. It's a free country. Some people are boycotting the Club and not attending games. Some people are boycotting "beers in the ground but stay in Civil Service club, no more merchandise, no cup matches, no pasties or coffees, not even a 50/50 ticket", but attending games. That's from fatherjackhackett, who I would imagine speaks for @drfaustus. Fair enough, I respect that. Do you still have your own particular boycott in place gentlemen? Some just turn up and don't care. And that's fine too. All I'm trying to say is we all have 'lines'. Some people's lines are drawn differently to others. And some simply don't have any. Each to there own. We should all be able to respect each other. Terribly sorry for expressing my right to change my opinion. Maybe I should stay as entrenched as everyone else. What a horrible society we’ve become where being able to change one’s mind is a bad thing.

In the words of the great poet Danny Glover, I’m getting too old for this sh*t. Happy to be cuckolded, as someone on this thread described us.

do you think the management of the club are taking a 'my way or the highway' approach? There's certainly a cult of personality around both the owner and manager. I don't see many other clubs post so much about their owner. Look, it's his club ultimately and what one punter thinks doesn't matter. It just seems like an odd ego stroking project and anyone that questions it is purged (Clarke, Coughlan, Starnes, Hamer, Masters, Brookman etc etc etc). I still don't think a good decision that wasn't obvious has been made in six years. Oh well. To be fair hush clauses and purging former staff stretches back to Twerton, certainly happened during Ollie’s tenure at the club.

Emails flying about to Family stand ST holders asking them to move to the South West tent for the remainder of the season.
Looks like it’s getting dismantled, and the East Terrace will be whole again. Should take our capacity way above 10k for the run in too.

I won't claim to be any kind of expert but it seems to me that common sense dictates the more unknowns and more things out of the club's control there are, the less likely any stadium scheme is to succeed. The fruit market scheme seems full of unknowns. We own the mem so surely that's a large part if the battle obtaining the land to build the thing. I don't really see the infrastructure arguement tbh, Ashton gate has no real infrastructure, tiny car park, train station not really near etc. If you have a stadium that people want to attend because it's nice they we I'll get there. Why not like it's been suggested by others don't the club rebuild the mem a stand at a time over the next few seasons. I think the main point is to actually start physically doing something rather than just making grand schemes in paper which in sure thousands have been wasted in in the past. We don't have to have the absolute ideal stadium a decent adequate thing will do, 16-18,000 I am think would be fine for us at championship level. I know people talk about potential support and sleeping supporters but i can't see 25000+ suddenly turning up the minute we get into the championship. Then if we outgrow the mem maybe move at that point but at least give us something that we're not ashamed of in the meantime that is acceptable for a league one level club, which lets accept it is our natural level where we have spent to the majority of our history. The mem isn't fit for national League level even, it's like the worst DIY bodger's attempt at making a football stadium out of stuff he's liberated from skips. You will be pleased to hear that redevelopment of the Mem has commenced with the first stage being a major upgrade of the club offices. View AttachmentYep. Good isn’t it. After 3 decades of shamateurism under Higgs and Dunford Jr. we’ve now got an organisation which is getting more and more professional. But they’re not local so I’m sure one or two no nothing rednecks will moan.
