No agenda just a genuine question.
I was surprised our attendance was lower on Tuesday than it was on Saturday? I would of thought with the carrot of going top of the table that we would of topped 7.5K - 8K! So I am wondering if you did not attend why was that? and what would encourage you to come to the Mem?

A load of my mates that used to go don't bother any more. Plus, while I can afford it, I can't justify £18 a pop to stand and watch Rovers v Altrincham or Dartford or whomever. To be fair I couldn't justify it in League Two either.
Part of it is habit - if you break the habit it's hard to start again.
I had STs and travelled from the midlanda for home games under Thommo and Graydon so I won't see myself as a glory hunter when I get a ticket for the final home game to see us win the title!

In reply to exactly the same question (but a few years ago now), someone famously posted ''Bread Pudding.''

I live in London.
I do pretty much every Saturday game and anything away that is sub 2h30 mins by train and/or not an astronomical train fee. To make a Tuesday game, I would need to take a half day off work to get there on time (possibly two half days, unless I traveled back to London after the game).
Just isn't doable really.

Let me narrow down the field. Can i direct the question to Bristol area based Gashead's. I can fully understand why exiled Gasheads find it difficult to make it to games, mileage, cost, etc.
So if you live in the Bristol area why do you not attend games even when we are on the best run of form in years. again no agenda just interested.

I would certainly agree with that. My father religiously attended home games at both Trashton and Eastville for many many years, it was almost a religion for him. Then one Saturday in the mid 1960s, and after well over 30 years of supporting both of the Bristol clubs on a regular basis, he suddenly stopped . . . just like that. When I asked him why, he explained that it was just a habit, and that once the habit was broken then that was that.

I did comment myself at the match on Tuesday that felt we would get 7000 as many local footballers may attend BUT guess Man City v Barca on tv, a wet cold night and no disrespect but BRAINTREE TOWN are not a big pull for many

If you went to the game on Saturday you'd be excused for not wanting to go on Tuesday......
Delighted with both results but happy to enjoy the win against Braintree from the warmth of my front room.
Highly effective football from DC - but not brilliant to watch even when we are grinding out results. Plus £10 or so for the kids make it a bit more of a challenge. Need some more Quid a kids if we are going to bring on the next generation of Gas

Now that I no longer have a season ticket there's no way that I'm shelling out the £30 that it costs me to go to a game twice in four days. Night matches just don't hold the appeal that weekend matches do for me.

Until either our present chair rescinds bans and starts to act appropriately towards us fans, or a new board comes in then I will not attend home games. I just cannot do it. It guts me as I miss the company but I could not live with myself if I did go. Sorry

I might be wrong, but I thought KS specifically asked people not to boycott on his behalf. My suggestion is to continue to advocate for improvement and change, but go to the games you want to - you'll probably enjoy it.

I was lucky enough to go to both games, but had a long period in the 1990s where I would only attend one or two games a season. That changed and I'm really glad Ive come back.

A number of reasons.
I really do think that £18 on the day for 5th tier football, or £16 in advance, is staggeringly expensive. I can pay for two people at the cinema for that price. Going back to Eastville days, entrance to the Tote End was a heck of a lot cheaper than the Concorde cinema down the road. And that was in the old second division.
The Mem is no longer fit for purpose. I have been to Ashton Gate to watch Bristol rugby (for £15), as I used to at BS7, and really am impressed by the 'match day experience' there. Also, in my late 40s, petty tribalism no longer floats my boat. As a veteran of Eastville and Twerton the songs are pretty generic and unoriginal these days.
I am another one who will not set foot in the Mem until a certain ban is lifted. I just find it totally unjust and unfair. Along with this I stuggle to see why incompetent buffoons like Higgs and Watola, along with useful idiots such as Masters & BSS, are not just tolerated by the masses but revered by some.
Finally, and most importantly, my mates no longer go. I miss the whole day out, from opening time in the Welly through to staggering out of Sorrentos (or whatever it's called these days) at late o'clock.

I miss it, I miss the company but I cannot give another penny to a guy who treats the fans with derision. I really do appreciate what you say but I actually have better weekends now as I don't feel the frustration of the disappointing perfoamces and my bank balance is a fair bit better. Thing is, a match day is at least £60 for me. I really am sorry but I just cannot do it. I have to live by some sort of code or I am worthless. It's just how I am wired.
