I don't go anymore mainly due to fat, bald headed forty plus , usually pissed 'fans' who constantly assassinate our players. Don't want to hear it and certainly don't want my nine year old son to hear it. They get into all parts of the ground before anyone comments and can't be reasoned with. Equally I think match day standards are appalling.... the food, the drink , the service ... Rovers staff are average at very best in their willingness to help or do anything other than the lowest level of basic service. Throw in the contents of Box 1 and there you are. I love my team ... have done for 45 years ... its not the same club anymore for me though. I take my 3 kids 11,9 & 6 in the south stand and said fellas sit behind us. Now I put up with their language until the last game of the season when we were relegated then i let them have both barrels! Haven't had a problem since :-)

You sound like Nick Higgs. NH or KP supporting The Gas.
Just one as far as I am concerned
Both for me, we should not have divided support. It would be good if people remembered this.

It was an ST holder let me have his ticket. You should've just said I was right I find your posts on this thread very tiresome. KP is sharing his views (which, incidentally, I do not share) in a non-judgmental way and you appear to just want to poke him with sticks (from Myanmar, or Burma, for those who are allergic to the post-colonial world). Apologies if I have missed some irony or there's some personal context to this...

I now find it funny when I read stuff like that, I honestky do. If it makes these folk happy to engage as they do then God bless them. I'll stick to keeping a healthy blood pressure. Have a good weekend

Think whatever you like, it's no concern of anyone else's other than him, so put your pointy sticks away and stop poking him with them to get to a reaction

I stopped going when I initially moved to Cheltenham as a student - I had the odd game here or there but it was just too expensive for a student coupled with the travelling. However, I had always attended boxing day, game one and the last game as a ritual.
As I got older I went a bit more often, almost as a pilgrimage to Bristol. Since then I've moved overseas so cannot attend for obvious reasons.
However, the above posts are a very interesting customer survey.
Points of interest:
- Disenfranchisement with those who run the club (and probably vice versa) - Value for money - we're non league, we have had a team of mercenaries in the past that showed not enough regards to the supporters - Facilities - the PA system, the bars, the food. These elements do not cost a lot to upgrade but havent. - Santa's Grotto - still brilliant but for entirely the wrong reasons - The environment - the vocal minority that like to know they are being heard, but we often don't like to hear what they are saying ("sing Up Gas" ... "up gas" - that's just awful, please stop) - The blue flames - I was surprised Gary Glitter weren't at the Mem when they were 'entertaining' at half time - Ground Hog Day - it got tiring just looking at Rovers days as a procession (1) Entrance (2) build up to the team coming out - same music (3) Half Time - same old boring commentary on draws, president clubs, nothing captivating. Al least dodgy Keith would get real fans views either side that garnered interest (4) same old unfunny chants
My opinion is that the club has not moved on since Twerton with regards to how to entice, excite, respect and treat the supporters. There's been a constant feeling that we are a 'them' to the board rather than an 'us' as a club. Younger blood has always been needed to take the supporters match day experience into the 21st Century however pricing is always a tough issue given the club's confidential finances which is understandable.
So what would I have done - let's be constructive.
- Community Groups - let's build on the carnival atmosphere that we had last season when I think St Pauls' community were providing refreshments before the game. - Bars - million miles behind everyone. Even Clevedon has a better bar interior than us. Franchise this out - even to a supporters group/known pub to run on a Saturday. - Food - has been going down for sometime. With Street Food current en vogue look to invite weekly franchises instead of giving season-long franchise agreements. Difference and local street vendors are a nice quip plus you do not have to sign up to exclusivity agreements. - PA system - I guess no point in spending whilst the stadium decision is up in the air. As much as I like Nick Day he can appeal to the supporters by engaging opinions at half time, but inviting candidness. - Supporters Charter - let's confront any 'ism' or behavior issue upfront. If we don't then sporadic instances make it harder and more publicly visible as and when such things happen (i.e. Chelsea, West Ham etc). Match Day environments should not be intimidating for any spectator but banter should also be supported - fine line between the two but essentially it's common sense which we all have yet choose not to apply at times. - Disenfranchisement - well that's an ongoing issue. But football is certainly no longer the rich local businessman owner running a club with thousands of pleb fans following the tune of his flute. Supporters are more intelligent, we have access and produce more information, we don't follow but we interact and partake. These principles need to be accepted and a charter of engagement formed around such facts.
Only was meant to write one line but you now how sometimes you get going!!
