I'd assume Turley failed another medical and took what was offered to him by cash rich s***house Eastleigh. Frankly, if that's his attitude I'm glad he isn't here. We've been paying higher wages for years than clubs around is us in our division, does that make us "Cash Rich s**tehouses" too?

Can't blame DC or Rovers here, Turley has gone after the money with Eastleigh. I reckon his x-ray suggested he was a still a little bit away from full fitness - or shows his bone has healed but was still fragile - and we refused to offer him a contract as it's a risk we don't need to take. In step moneybags Eastleigh who are prepared to take him on without a full medical to ensure they get their man.
He has not been earning money for the last couple of months and I can understand his need to rectify that as soon as possible but it's incredibly disappointing that he is still not fully fit and has gone elsewhere.
We move on and I hope our next move is to extend Trotman's deal - something I would have done regardless of Turley signing. Maybe this frees up wages for a right winger/striker?

We're just a poorly run s**thouse. Went to Eastleigh last season, they didn't have a step of terracing, a decent crowd, the ability to steward ten away supporters or any good facilities. Rovers and Eastleigh are fine examples of how not to run a club.

I think the main thing we as a club should learn from this saga is...
GRAB HIS ARM, GRAB HIM ARM, GRAB HIS ARM.

I thought that it had been reported that Turley had signed a pre-contract, but I could be wrong on that one though. Just shows you how hollow are all these pronouncements by some players.
Or did we miss a trick by insisting on him achieving full fitness before formally offering him a contract, unlike one or two other recent(ish) signings, and it has come back to bite us on the bum. It's interesting what chewbacca said in his post regarding Turley's fitness, I wonder if he did fail the medical?
Seems unlikely, but you never know, do you?

Well f... me!
This looks to have backfired on us!
I can accept that we need to be cautious when signing an injured player, but having trained with us, the guy has a lot of useful inside knowledge.

Did we have the money to sign him, or did we need to have first shifted some out, maybe Brunt? If he was now fit, he would have wanted a deal. The proof may be if he plays Saturday.

I think it best we wait to hear what DC has to say but he was enjoying telling people that Turley had offers from others sides but that he wanted to play for Rovers. It's never a dull day with the Rovers. I can't help but laugh at this.

What the Eastleigh Press release did not say is that
" We have nipped in whilst BRFC Medical team dithered, the same medical team that have allowed so many injured players under their radar in recent years"
I'm disappointed with this ...
That said we don't know the full details ... if Turley turns out to be a great signing then questions should be asked ! If Not ... so be it ! Well Done Medical team !

Bristol Rovers are bigger than Jamie Turley so forget him and move on. The bloke is obviously driven by money and as such probably deserves to sign for a twopenny halfpenny team with money but NOTHING else. Would like however to hear from Clarke as to what is happening with Balanta. It seems very quiet on him since he was on the bench the day after he signed. Personally would like to see us go for the Barnet winger Keanu- Marsh now.

doesnt have to be any of the negative reasons above, maybe we just wanted to be certain and may be the bloke just needed to pay his mortgage and money bags Eastleigh were willing to take a risk and the player willing to risk his arm to help feed his family and put roof over their heads
We wanted him risk free, he couldnt wait he took an offer very close to where he lives (Newbury)
World still goes round, and all parties will move on.

If we were messing him around, then fair play to him for getting a good deal elsewhere.
If we were simply waiting for a specialist medical opinion of his fitness as agreed with him when he came here, then f**k him.

We wanted him risk free... No player is risk free. We wanted him fit.

If MM and JW had exercised as much caution on crocked players instead of signing them on long contracts we might well still be in the football league!! Good luck to turkey, he's just going there like ****table et al for the cash, nothing more, hate to be a spitfire fan when the balloon goes up, and it will, we must now move on, and DC and the medical team are right, if in doubt don't sign em!!

Personally think we've missed the chance to carry on the momentum here with Woking up next ...new signing would have given the squad and fans a buzz especially as he was linked to league clubs this summer!! Can't help but feel disappointed again...typical rovers!!
