If he wasn't fit then fair enough. In the past we would have signed a player like that in the summer. He will be short of match fitness so doubt we will see him when we play his side shortly. Anyway, if he was really that good and full of promise as we keep hearing, surely he would already be in the footballe league right now let alone a free agent?

I'd suggest we have no money to sign him. Our cash flow is non existent. Any funds raised ongoing, should be kept for someone who can put chances away.

Did we really need him anyway. A non league journeyman who struggled to get a game at FGR under Pennock. We already have Parkes Trotman Lockyer McCrystal for his position - signing him would have been unnecessary.
Perhaps we should blame Neil Trotman for this as his form might have suggested to Turley that he tries elsewhere!
Anyway we have had enough unfit CBs over the years. No great loss!

We do have a cash flow, we also have a budget. Sensible clubs wouldn't overspend on someone that's unfit and not needed!

Once again, and with the greatest of respect to you, fellow gashead, how do you know this to be true? I know you say "suggest" ie not fact but so many gasheads seem to suggest when we don't sign a particular player it's down to no money/cash flow/unable to compete etc, could it not just be that the medical team were warned by DC not to drop us in it with another crocked player, thus keeping the Turley money for a striker? I'm pleased, personally, that DC has stuck to his pre season statement re hungry players who want to play for BRFC, Turley quite clearly doesn't fall into that brief anymore, let's hope we have some money left for one or two more signings eh???

If you look at our squad, a center back is the last position we need right now. If money was put aside to sign him then hopefully tht can be invested in a position that needs to be strengthend

Could this news mean the reintroduction of Mark McChrystal into DC'c thinking? Or was he actually injured all along?

Feels like Clive Platt mk2, i hope our travelling support give him plenty of stick up there if he plays. Was happy to use our facilities and integrate with our players and then off he goes. Credit to DC, he is a man of his word, has stuck to his new policy on not signing crocks, paying exceesive wages etc.

Bristol Rovers are bigger than Jamie Turley so forget him and move on. The bloke is obviously driven by money and as such probably deserves to sign for a twopenny halfpenny team with money but NOTHING else. Would like however to hear from Clarke as to what is happening with Balanta. It seems very quiet on him since he was on the bench the day after he signed. Personally would like to see us go for the Barnet winger Keanu- Marsh now. Looking at Balanta's photo I would suggest he is quite away from being match fit. Agree with the Turley thing but why are Barnet prepared to let a player like Marsh-Brown leave ? Still think the two positions we need to sign players for are Right Wing & Creative Midfielder.Maybe another striker if Brunt leaves.

Why would you decide to leave a cash rich Forest Green to further your career by playing for a bigger club, then sign for cash rich Eastleigh?

If you get another midfielder in then two of Sinclair, Mansell, Ollie Clark can't play - so no real point as they are 3 very decent players at this level. Gosling looked half decent on Tuesday and deserves a crack, Balanta will get a game sooner rather than later, up front we can perm 2 from Cunnington, Taylor, White and Harrison - with Brunty when fit another option. Dont think we need to waste any more cash at the moment! Do we need anyone else? Let's wait and see how the next few games pan out. That could be Darrells view too!

Exactly the opposite from Trollope and Mcghee so not a bad thing at all.

The key thing to remember is that we are 10 games into a 46 game season. Turley's wage could go towards a quality loan signing in January when we could be in the middle of an injury crisis or we need a bit of extra quality in a certain position to help us stay around the top 7. I think between now and January this squad has enough numbers, and needs to settle down and develop some momentum going into the next 10 games.

The world will keep spinning of course, but he is still a c**t for this. Still if Parkes can return back to the form when he first came here then we have a better player than Turley on our hands imo.

We wanted him risk free, he couldnt wait he took an offer very close to where he lives (Newbury) Living and working in that area, I'd wager that time-wise, Newbury to Bristol might be 15 mins max longer than Newbury to Eastleigh, on a good day it might even be quicker - the A34 is a nightmare!

Don't be, he's gone for the money, nothing more, DC doesn't want players like that, he's true to his word, he probably feels let down by Turley, but I trust DC and like the squad he's developing I think we're in pretty good shape myself and looking forward to the next batch of games, let's see how far we can go??

Turley tweeted "couldn't hold on forever exactly that!".
