Looks like Rovers dodged a bullet on this one. Rovers really did the right thing in asking for a second medical when the first one was inconclusive! Source: www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/11511999.Injury_hit_Eastleigh_aim_to_trim_Barnet/But most concerning of all is news that recent signing Jamie Turley has taken a knock on the arm he broke during the summer.
The club are awaiting medical advice regarding the England C defender, who has not played since his man-of-the-match debut against Braintree two weeks ago.
Turley sat out last Saturday’s 3-0 defeat against Wrexham through illness and took a blow to his arm in training on Monday.
“He knocked it falling over and we took him straight out of training so he could get it checked out thoroughly and it looks like it’s put him back few weeks,” confirmed Hill.
Eastleigh signed Turley from under the noses of Bristol Rovers while Darrell Clarke’s side were awaiting a doctor’s report on the player’s arm. The Spitfires, who had been chasing the 24-year-old since May, had their own tests carried out which confirmed he was fit to play.
“This is a blow because the medical tests we had done on Jamie before we signed him gave him the all-clear,” said Hill. “We did our due diligence and everything indicated he was fit.”

They were boasting how they stole him from under our noses because we were waiting for further tests. Clearly they knew he had potential problems and that further tests could be vital, but chose to take the chance.

I'm shocked. Shocked I tell you!
He may well have been 'fit to play' but that wasn't really why we were looking for further evidence on his arm was it? Dips**ts.

We have rolled the dice on so many players in the past few years and it has (in part) helped to get us where we are today along with the over the top wages and long contracts.

The club were absolutely correct in not signing him, and it's proven to be a great decision. I heard it was mentioned on the radio that he actually shattered his arm not just broke it, meaning recovery is a much slower process. Eastleigh decided not to obtain further medical advice on him and are now paying the price, and so they deserve to after their boasts of "signing him from right under our noses". We don't want to sign a player who can't even take part in contact training without exacerbating his current medical situation.

"We had a look at the player and decided it wasn't worth the wrist". He said he wanted to sign for us but it turned out he was something of a fibia

Extremely lucky, we would have probably find ourselves having to give him the elbow, you know what they say fore-armed is fore-warned

Am I the only one that feels slightly happy for the lad. Assuming the injury is not career threatening (hoping this at least), he got a deal, pays his mortgage and Rovers are not picking up the bill.
