I'm encouraged about what people seem to know about JT, but has he actually signed yet? Nothing on official site that he's had the X-ray, passed it, and signed??? Unless someone knows something that I don't!!!

We're not Real Madrid, he won't pose topless lead down on a BUPA hospital bed with pads and wires all over his chest giving the thumbs up to then be driven to The Mem to be introduced in front of a crowd of 45,000 Gasheads. Gaslacticos.

DC said this morning that Turley was set to have an X-ray today, and if it shows he is fit and able to partake in contact training, a deal is very likely to be completed this week.

Sorry it looks like i copied the BEP reporter but i had a text about this late last night, and had to wait until i got to work to get internet access to post this. I was also told one of the clubs was a league club, so fair play to DC for persuading him to sign, Turley obviously has enjoyed training with the group these last few weeks. Sorry if this sounds negative, but has anyone actually seen him play . Is he any good ? What we need to get us in the top 5 (minimum) this season is better quality players. I hear he's quick, but what's his distribution like ? has he got a good first touch and can he tackle/head it well. That's what we're lacking at the back ! Yes it does sound negative, and so apology accepted mark.

Just to let everyone know, James McNamara confirmed this an hour or two ago so WC's source is good! James McNamara posted the Turley information on Twitter before this post was made. A real pet hate of mine (It's the academic in me) is not giving credit to the source. If Westcountry (or anyone else for that matter) received their information from a private source then so be it. If it was received via a source (Such as McNamara's Twitter) that can be revealed then please quote that individual. It might seem petty, but I have had my work (and words) used before without credit and it is infuriating. You are Patrick Collins, and I claim my £5.

Are Newport County still interested in Mark McChrystal? If they were, and as he's temporarily out of the team, for whatever reason, it might produce a little movement. After all, how many months has he got left on his 3-year contract?

However, Trottman had a poor game on Saturday, as players sometimes, do but Parkes was fine as was his passing. Turley would give us more options and DC isn't afraid to vary his team so it would start to make our defensive options very solid. I think it was the Hereford Steptoe, who thought Ledbitter was more of a wingback/right midfielder than a full back and he certainly looked that way on Sat. One thing you can say about him is that he is very quick.

He seemed to leave a few signings a bit later than I would have liked, but in fairness he always kept true to what he had always said, irrespective of comment and criticism. In hindsight he has shown quite a lot of patience in signing his targets. He may not have hit the bullseye every time, but as you say the squad is shaping up nicely . . . particularly (if as expected) Jamie Turley signs up. I don't want to say anything too prematurely, but things do appear to be slowly turning round.

Just need an experienced, midfield general now, but we've probably wanted those for a decade or more!

Don't think we have had one since Ronnie Mauge.
