Southgate is overly cautious. Plays negative football when it really counts. An unhealthy obsession with Maguire. A bit of a creep. A squad of no alarms and no surprises. However the squad will be fitter, happier. Chests pumped out as we hear the National Anthem played for the first time. England will look good in the early stages. Fans will be optimistic. They dream. Nice dream. A settled 3-5-2. Hopefully England will finally have everything in it's right place. Bellingham will be the stand out performer. The final piece of the jigsaw falling into place. I might be wrong, but I think England will lose in the first big game they face. Knives out. Southgate will get slaughtered as we look to burn the witch. Ultimately supporters will feel let down. Left high and dry. People get too emotional. Too emotionally invested. Tears before bed-time. There, there. Advice: Don't get sentimental, it always ends up drivel. Revisited and edited. Just a few tweaks (in bold). Utterly predictable. Southgate is overly cautious. Plays negative football when it really counts. An unhealthy obsession with Harry Kane. A bit of a creep. "Listen...I`m proud to be the first black female manager of this baseball team. Only the Lord Almighty himself, can prevent us from winning the Superbowl in 2016." Biden clearly has a medical condition, and isn't just suffering from a few elderly moments. That`s not what he says. It`s not what his wife says. It`s not what the Vice President of the United States says. It`s not what the many many delegates who voted for him, and still have confidence in him to be the leader of the most powerful nation on Earth for the next four years, say. Surely, they`re more competent to judge than anyone on this forum?

I agree we with those that say Gareth deserves a lot of respect, his record shows that. Okay, his style of football was'nt quite Cup winning quality, but we only lost on penalties in a European Final. He was willing to select form players. With Gareth, we got close and I say fair play to the bloke for that. 🏴 We will never get closer than the Euro final being 1-0 up against a very poor Italy. It's odd that people never mention that Southgate should have maybe gone after this. Went a goal up against Croatia in a WC semi-final and then ended up losing. The defeat against France in the WC which showed how far we were of what was required to compete with the very best teams. The team lacked a winning mentality and consistently bottled it when it mattered. "It's odd that people never mention that Southgate should have maybe gone after this". Oh, I did. To be fair Southgate inherited a shambles and did a great job in changing the culture. The team were better and supporters got behind the team again. Great. Then the pathetic capitulation against Croatia WC 2018. Alarms bells were ringing then. Fast forward to the Euros in 2021 where England were effectively at home for the tournament, and exactly the same tactics led to the same result. Failure. WC 2022 and England lose to the first decent side they come up against. Exactly the same tactics led to the same result. Failure. Euros 2024 and England lose to the first decent side they come up against. Exactly the same tactics led to the same result. Failure. Top marks to anyone who can spot a pattern developing. Southgate remains the best ever ex-Middlesbrough manager to ever take charge of the national team.

It was his comments about another player, that left me shaking my head. “We know we don't have a natural replacement for Kalvin Phillips,”

I would defy anybody who watched the presidential debates or who saw him confuse Zelensky with Putin to claim that there is no problem.

Looks like the Dems, who`ve spent months denying that Biden has impaired cognitive capability, are preparing to ditch him, because of his impaired cognitive capability.

Martin, Derby: When Terry Venables was appointed, the FA hired someone who had actually played football to conduct a widespread search for the right manager. The result was a semi-final, England's last before Southgate, and a togetherness that subsequently left when Venables left and did not return until Southgate was appointed. The FA now need to ensure they have lived experience among the decision-making machine. Wearing a suit and being good at administrative tasks are not the qualifications for selecting an England manager. The FA must learn from the past and ensure it has experienced voices in this process. Dan, Surrey: Pep's contract is up next summer and he hasn't committed to a new one. Tie him down and put Lee Carsley in as interim. Then when Pep takes over Carsley stays as his assistant. Let's see if Pep can do it on a rainy night in Moldova!Mike: Pep is an awful shout for the England job. Sure, he's the best there is in club football, but with a national team, he can't dump players in the reserves for a season until they have learned his system. Well Dan from Surrey…. All managers have been able to do it on a rainy night in Moldova, it’s the sunny day in high summer at any major tournament that no one’s been able to solve! Blimey, must be hard trying to please some of the fans who support England. Good luck to whoever. UTG!

sanctions seven nations for racist chants Euro 2024 trophy IMAGE SOURCE,GETTY IMAGES Image caption, In total Uefa identified 17 games as being affected by racist chants
Simon Stone Chief football news reporter Published 2 hours ago European governing body Uefa has sanctioned seven of the 24 competing countries at Euro 2024 because of racist or discriminatory behaviour by their fans.
The Serbian, Croatian, Romanian, Slovenian, Austrian, Hungarian and Albanian Football Associationss have all been sanctioned.
The punishments range from a 50,000 euros (£41,970) fine and a ban from selling tickets to its next Uefa away match (a Nations League game in Portugal on 5 September) for Croatia, to a 20,000 euros (£16,790) fine and a ban on selling tickets to its next Uefa away match - suspended for two years - for Austria.
In total, 17 games were identified as being affected, including three involving Slovenia, Romania, Croatia and Serbia.
The move comes a day after Uefa charged Spain players Rodri and Alvaro Morata for violating "basic rules of conduct" in the aftermath of their final victory over England when they sang offensive songs about Gibraltar, whose FA lodged a formal complaint
Plenty will be disappointed that England fans are not on that list....those that the press love to think are the worlds worst set of followers, sales are seemingly down for them after this year's tournament...

It doesn't make sense to include all seven on a list like this, as this gives the impression that the offences were equal. They weren't - the Albanian and Croatian fans actually openly called for genocide at an international sports tournament. People have a very slanted view of the region and think that Serbia is the only offender in this regard. Remember how Xhaka and Shaqiri were treated with sympathy when making political gestures in a game against Serbia, as if they were somehow victims when stirring up nationalist hatred? We have a very large Spanish community in Bristol who live here without any issues or problems, and so it is deeply irritating to see their sportsmen trying to stir up political enmity over a rock and Spanish protestors harassing British tourists by spraying them with water pistols. Grow up. Plenty will indeed be disappointed but that is because they are tedious virtue-signalling bores who like nothing more than to show how 'right on' they are by dumping on their country at each and every opportunity.
