Fake news. Only emailed him 2 days ago and got a reply. Still in post. I think Tom may have missed the bus. You should always check that you have a return ticket. We got stranded at Membury Services when our hired mini bus broke down on the way back from an evening game at Griffin Park. It's no fun trying to cadge a lift especially in unpolished brown shoes and a blue suit.

My source tells me 100% Gorringe is history. So a bit of good news on a dreary day. You are not the only one who has heard this but, if true, it's the way it's being handled which is most disappointing. I'd hoped the new ownership era would bring about a culture change and restore a sense of normality to the way Rovers conduct their business. No comment from the CEO about the manager leaving, a sudden cessation of his regular "insider knowledge" column in the programme, no attendance at the SC AGM ? It's obvious that something is happening and the most likely explanation is that Tom's role is being deliberately downgraded in an effort to make him want to seek pastures new. To me this is a cheap tactic which brings no credit to any business which employs it and with Rovers track record it is very likely to backfire. If he is leaving let's have an honest statement and make a clean dignified break so the club can move forward. The bloke doesn’t deserve a dignified exit. The way he treated long term, loyal employees of the club. Karma strikes again.

This Tom Gorringe thread has turned in to a cash v card debate, interesting as it is, anyway.. I would think every volunteer at almost every event holding money boxes, tins or whatever would become redundant.. Also no need for the collection pots in many shops, pubs or wherever would disappear from sight.. I always give spare change on my travels as 'every little helps'.. Thanks Ian

I dislike cash, myself, but I think one ought to understand the perspective of those who prefer it, for various reasons. I can see the argument for a cashfree Mem, though. I prefer cash as I can spend much more on card , especially after I’ve had a few

I thought the idea of being cashless at the Mem was to stop pilfering.
I've started using cash again recently, gives me more control. I also play CDs.

I'd prefer it if Rovers regained the moral high ground and abandoned the cult of personality with its associated policy of pursuing vendettas. Tom was hailed as a hero before he'd achieved anything and he was completely set up to fail. The next challenge will be how we, as Gasheads, approach things with Abdullatif.

Forget cash or card, let's concentrate on the real subject Gorringe. Have you noticed he never makes eye contact whether in person if you have the misfortune to meet him personally or with his obscure preference for interviews with sycophanic kids posting blogs on so called dynamic young football administrators. Instead of making the person in conversation feel welcomed and valued, Gorringe with his non eye contact projects the people he's addressing are beneath him, by doing this he comes across that he's hiding something or that he's lying, of course which he is. The Al Saeeds have worked him out, but due to the incredible generosity and need of the former majority shareholder to have a conciliator in his camp doing all his dirty work the Al Saeeds don't want to give Gorringe a penny in a ridicolous severance remuneration package which wasn't of their making. It is clear to everyone, even to the specially well rewarded recipient cultivated Gorringe supporting posters on both boards the boy was promoted way beyond his capabilities. We have problems Houston, we have lost contact with our club, stand by for the the fall out between two warring nations, who wins, of course, the ones who write the cheques out every week to keep the club afloat.
