Former Manchester United and England attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard, 31, has agreed a two-year contract at FC Seoul, with the option of a further year. Frenkie de Jong does not want to leave Barcelona this summer despite other reports suggesting the Spanish club are keen to sell the 26-year-old Netherlands midfielder, who continues to be linked with Manchester United. Barcelona'sfinancial restrictions mean they will only enter the race for Everton'sAmadou Onana if the Toffees drop their £51m asking price for the 22-year-old Belgium midfielder, who is also attracting interest from Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.

ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/4899/live/ceba4b90-bb99-11ee-896d-39d9bd3cadbb.jpgWe asked you for your thoughts on Sunday's Premier League match between Aston Villa and Manchester United.
Here are some of your comments:
Manchester United fansJohn: We started well but were affected by losing Shaw. Maguire was immense at the back. We love Villa Park. Villa played well. United showed resilience and have belief, confidence and strong characters. Onana easily had his best game. We need left-back cover and Harry Amass, the young 16-year-old, will come in soon. Martinez is a big loss. Pete: Result was brilliant, the performance was not so good. We looked really sloppy. Mainoo looked out of his depth for the first time, he was ran past too easily and it was like he was running through mud. Casemiro concerns me, the lack of commitment in 50-50 challenges was ridiculous. I thought Villa were the better team by a fair distance. Roger: Very adventurous and dangerous in the attack at the start of play, but poor marking allowed Villa back into the game and they let chance after chance go begging. Their constant pressure in the second half proved fruitless and United stole a valuable goal towards the end of the match. Gary: I cannot believe the consistent slow build-up from our goalkeeper. We won 13 titles by playing positive, attacking and good to watch football. If this type of play is coming from the manager, then he has to go. We were lucky and West Ham could've scored five last week. ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/da80/live/592b71b0-c99a-11ee-896d-39d9bd3cadbb.jpg

Manchester United are interested in Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt, 24, with the Netherlands international unhappy with his role at the German champions. Two Bayer Leverkusen defenders are also being watched by Manchester United, with Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag keen on Netherlands right-back Jeremie Frimpong, 23, and Burkino Faso centre-back Edmond Tapsoba, 25. Ten Hag has also personally requested the signing of Inter Milan and Argentina striker Lautaro Martinez, 26. Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo will accept any call-up by England but is planning to keep his international future open with the 18-year-old also able to represent Ghana.

Newcastle would be due more than £6m in compensation if Ashworth moves to the Red Devils. Manchester United also want to sign Brazil defender Gleison Bremer, 26, from Juventus in the summer. Barcelona have placed an £85m price tag on 26-year-old Netherlands midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who continues to be linked with Manchester United and Chelsea. Manchester United are eyeing a move for Crystal Palace's 22-year-old French winger Michael Olise, 22. Wolves might sell Pedro Neto this summer to ensure they do not breach profit and sustainability rules (PSR) and give manager Gary O'Neil funds to spend elsewhere, with Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United admirers of the 23-year-old Portugal winger.

ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/1f0c/live/a182c5e0-ca84-11ee-896d-39d9bd3cadbb.jpgWe asked for your thoughts whether it's time for Manchester United to replace Luke Shaw.
Here's what you had to say:Gareth: Shaw is fantastic when fit but as with a number of the squad getting 30 plus games from them is the problem along with big wages. Malacia has potential. If a good deal comes in and a rising star available too then look to make changes but there are many who should be ahead of him out the door. Ben: United's entire defence is aging - Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw and Varane all represent yesterday's creaking options. But with the exception of Lindelof, I'd have thought keeping them in the short term as experienced back up options would be the wise choice while new energetic youngsters are bedded in! Peter: Luke Shaw should stay. Let’s look at the medical staff. Musa: Shaw has been outstanding for us ever since he joined the club many years ago. I kind of feel that the injury he sustained early on when he signed for Manchester United prevented him from reaching the very peak of his powers. He could have been the best left-back in the world had it not been for that. Fred: We must keep Shaw, one of the top left-backs in the Premier League and a great attacking influence in Man Utd. Brtian: Luke Shaw may have had a rough time with injuries but I still think he is still one of the best left backs around. It would be a great disappointment if he were transferred. He gives it 100%, please keep him. Christine: I agree Luke Shaw is injury prone, but sell him? I thought it was April Fools Day when I read this. Shaw is the most progressive left-back of his time and can teach any up and coming left-back how it's played. For me, Shaw stays. Steve: Shaw is the most underrated player in that position for club and country. When fit he will take some beating. Ten Hag tried to replace him on arrival at Old Trafford, but Shaw is more than ready to see-off any pretenders to his crown. Where is Malacia?

Premier League approves Jim Ratcliffe's purchase of 25% stakeichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/d290/live/d35d1580-ca88-11ee-a6e0-7b00d73a2f7a.jpgSir Jim Ratcliffe's deal to buy a 25% stake in Manchester United has been approved by the Football Association and Premier League. The British billionaire's purchase is worth about $1.3bn (£1.03bn). Owners the Glazer family will retain a majority stake in the club but Ratcliffe's Ineos Group will take control of football operations. The sale cannot be completed until after the share offer is closed, which is Friday night in the United States. Premier League approval is contingent on the deal being completed. "The Premier League now awaits confirmation of the transaction's completion," the league said in a statement, while confirming Ratcliffe, 71, has also signed its owners' charter. The deal is the first to be agreed under the Premier League's updated owners' and directors' test, which was approved by member clubs in March 2023 and includes a review by an independent oversight panel. "The FA can confirm that the Barclays Women's Super League and Barclays Women's Championship Board have approved the acquisition by Sir Jim Ratcliffe of Manchester United Football Club in relation to its Manchester United Women's entity," the FA said in a statement. ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/5670/live/845c6cb0-cb3c-11ee-ae26-69843c0f4fee.jpg

Newcastle's sporting director Dan Ashworth, who has been approached by Manchester United, will attempt to bring in Chelsea chief analyst Kyle Macaulay if he moves to Old Trafford. Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Man Utd mission..by Simon Stone, BBC Sport.ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/2/21/777f62a9-2092-49fb-8968-41ca2ae4374b.jpgSir Jim Ratcliffe's purchase of a minority stake in Manchester United was finally concluded last night. It has taken since November 2022, when the Glazer family launched their search for 'strategic alternatives' for the Old Trafford outfit. Ratcliffe now owns 27.7% of the club and has been given control of football operations. That includes an intention to appoint Dan Ashworth as technical director, Jason Wilcox potentially on the recruitment side, in addition to Omar Berrada as chief executive. Ratcliffe will be outlining his vision in more detail but his initial statement was blunt and to the point. "To become co-owner of Manchester United is a great honour and comes with great responsibility," he said. "This marks the completion of the transaction, but just the beginning of our journey to take Manchester United back to the top of English, European and world football, with world-class facilities for our fans." Sir Jim Ratcliffe has played a canny PR game in addition to his astute negotiations to buy into Manchester United. When it became obvious Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad would be vying to get United, most expected the Qatari's wealth to determine the outcome. As it turned out, Ratcliffe had a couple of aces to play - one of which was his willingness not to buy the entire club. For now, Ratcliffe is centre stage. Joel Glazer talks of a bright future. Ratcliffe talks of taking United "back to the top of English, European and world football, with world-class facilities for our fans". These are great words - just as meeting the media at Old Trafford, talking to staff, meeting fans groups and local council leaders showed Ratcliffe to be in touch with the people looking to him for leadership. But now, Ratcliffe has to deliver. He has bought himself some time by being foot perfect so far. But, as many others have discovered since Sir Alex Ferguson quit in 2013, in the brutal world of Manchester United Football Club, goodwill will only last so long. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made frequent visits to Old Trafford and the club's training ground since his deal was agreed on Christmas Eve. On the completion of the deal on Tuesday, he said: "This marks the completion of the transaction, but just the beginning of our journey to take Manchester United back to the top of English, European and world football, with world-class facilities for our fans. "Work to achieve those objectives will accelerate from today."

Rashford has long been admired by PSG and the club's president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. (MEN), external United and Liverpool are among a host of Premier League sides interested in Atalanta defensive midfielder Ederson. Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham also monitoring the 24-year-old Brazilian. Manchester United are also interested in 26-year-old Juventus and Brazil defender Gleison Bremer, who is valued at 70m euros (£59.8m). The Red Devils are considering reigniting their interest in 30-year-old Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane, and 26-year-old Barcelona and Netherlands midfielder Frenkie de Jong, this summer. However, De Jong has rejected reports that he could be leaving Barcelona at the end of the season and says he is "angry" about the rumours. Aston Villa are preparing to open the bidding for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Oscar Gloukh with an offer of 20m euros (£17m). The 19-year-old Israeli has also caught the eye of Manchester United.

Old Trafford redevelopment: Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants 'national stadium in the north'..By Dan Roan and Matt Davis, BBC Sport.i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/02/09/22/81078707-13067043-Macheda_now_32_insists_the_magical_Old_Trafford_holds_so_many_sp-a-6_1707517605664.jpgNew Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe says his "preference" is to build a new stadium for the club that can also "serve the north of England". United have played at the 74,310-capacity Old Trafford since 1910, but Ratcliffe acknowledged it had become "tired and in need of refurbishment". A new stadium could be built next to the existing ground in Trafford Park. "It's about time someone built a national stadium in the north of England," said the British billionaire. Ratcliffe added the potential project could be a "catalyst for regeneration" in south Manchester and would therefore warrant a "conversation" with the government about using taxpayers' money. In his first broadcast interview, with BBC sports editor Dan Roan, since completing his deal to buy 27.7% of the club, Ratcliffe added: "If it can be achieved, it would clearly be my preference. "I would be very excited for the north of England." Ratcliffe spoke about the potential for the new stadium to host England games and FA Cup semi-finals, both of which are played at Wembley in London, as well as the Champions League final. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/02/06/14/80915153-13051579-image-a-40_1707228878980.jpgHe said there was "significant bias in terms of major investments being in the south". Old Trafford has not been chosen to host games at Euro 2028, and last staged a Champions League final in 2003 when AC Milan beat Juventus on penalties. Manchester-born Ratcliffe, 71, completed a deal for a stake in the club worth about $1.6bn (£1.25bn) on Monday. The deal includes $300m (£237m) for future investment in the club's stadium. Ratcliffe said the option of refurbishment would create an 80-90,000 seater stadium, but it "won't be perfect" because of the age of the ground. Speaking about building a new stadium, he said: "Trafford Park is where the industrial revolution began. If you look at that region of Manchester today - only a mile from the centre - it is tired and neglected and parts are quite run down. "There is quite a big argument, in my view, for regenerating that whole south side of Manchester. The nucleus of it would be building a new world-class state-of-the-art stadium which could take England games, the FA Cup final, Champions League finals. It could serve the north of England. "There is a bias in the UK in terms of where national stadiums have been built - they are all in the south. There is a lot of talk about levelling up. HS2 has been cancelled and all that is going to be spent on the rail network in London. The people in the north pay their taxes just as the people in the south. "Why shouldn't there be a venue in the north of England for England to play at? Why does everyone in the north have to go to the south for the semi-finals of the FA Cup?" Ratcliffe said an "an arms-length taskforce" would be put together to look into the feasibility of a new stadium and that he had spoken to former United captain Gary Neville. When asked if public funding would be used, he added: "I think, as part of a regeneration project, there has to be a conversation with the national government. "The north deserves some thought as well as the south, I think, if it is a national stadium."

Old Trafford through the years: How the iconic stadium has changed during 112 years of history as Manchester United consider huge rebuilding project that will take its capacity above 80,000..i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/15/12/55376563-10614847-image-a-48_1647346006331.jpgHaving rescued the fledgling Manchester United from bankruptcy in 1909, chairman John Henry Davies funded the construction of a new stadium and chose a patch of land adjacent to the Bridgewater Canal in Old Trafford. The renowned Scottish stadium architect Archibald Leitch was commissioned to draw up designs for an enormous ground that could accommodate 100,000 spectators. But original estimates of £60,000 swelled to nearer £100,000 and so capacity was reduced to 80,000. The stadium was completed late in 1909 and Old Trafford hosted its inaugural game (pictured) on February 19, 1910, a 4-3 victory for Liverpool. One journalist present wrote Old Trafford was 'the most handsomest [sic], the most spacious and the most remarkable arena I have ever seen... As a football ground it is unrivalled in the world.' i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2021/12/29/17/51873003-10316643-A_year_after_its_official_opening_an_FA_Cup_final_replay_is_play-a-3_1640798440997.jpgPrior to the opening of Wembley in 1923, the FA Cup final was played at different venues around the country. Old Trafford was handed the honour twice - the 1911 replay that saw Bradford City beat Newcastle United 1-0 (pictured) and the 1915 final that saw Sheffield United beat Chelsea 3-0. The latter is known as the Khaki Cup Final because of the large number of spectators in the uniforms of the armed forces, the First World War well underway. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/55382283-10614847-An_aerial_shot_of_Old_Trafford_taken_in_1930_shows_its_location_-a-1_1647808038723.jpgAn aerial shot of Old Trafford, taken in 1930, shows its location in what was really an industrial hinterland of Manchester. Railway lines snake around the ground with factories and chimneys visible. There has been a railway station behind the South Stand since August 1935 when it was constructed by the Cheshire Lines Committee. Originally named United Football Ground, it was quickly renamed Old Trafford Football Ground in 1936 and is now known as Manchester United Football Ground. Services were suspended in 2018 on health and safety grounds. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/51872979-10614847-In_1936_United_spent_35_000_refurbishing_Old_Trafford_with_an_80-a-3_1647808041657.jpgIn 1936, United spent £35,000 refurbishing Old Trafford with an 80-yard long roof added to the United Road Stand (now the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand) and further improvements were made in 1938 to maintain its status as a top-class venue. Indeed, the record attendance for a football match at Old Trafford remains the 76,962 who crammed in to watch the 1939 FA Cup semi-final between Wolves and Grimsby Town. But the stadium was extensively destroyed by Luftwaffe bombs during the Second World War. The ground was requisitioned by the military to be used as a depot and its proximity to railway lines made it a target. It was first raided just before Christmas in 1940 and again in March 1941, the second attack flattening the main stand. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/51872983-10614847-This_picture_was_taken_in_1945_with_reconstruction_only_taking_p-a-4_1647808042028.jpgThis picture was taken in 1945 with reconstruction only taking place following victory over Germany. While the ground was rebuilt, United played their home matches at City's Maine Road at a cost of £5,000 per year plus a share of the gate receipts. United finally returned home at the start of the 1949-1950 campaign. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/55377225-10614847-The_1950s_saw_triumph_and_disaster_for_United_Matt_Busby_s_team_-a-5_1647808042037.jpgThe 1950s saw triumph and disaster for United. Matt Busby's team won the league three times and were pioneers in entering the European Cup, the first English team to do so. In their first season in Europe, United had to play their first three matches at Maine Road because Old Trafford didn't have floodlights. They moved back in time for the second leg of their semi-final against Real Madrid (pictured above). We can see Real's Raymond Kopa scoring past keeper Ray Wood as a packed crowd watch on. The game ended 2-2 with Real winning 5-3 on aggregate. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/55382281-10614847-Old_Trafford_as_seen_on_a_quieter_day_in_1957_with_a_central_por-a-6_1647808042297.jpgOld Trafford as seen on a quieter day in 1957 with a central portion of seating surrounded by terracing. The first match played under floodlights there was a league fixture with Bolton Wanderers on March 25th. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/55377231-10614847-The_black_and_grey_shadows_in_this_evocative_image_really_reflec-a-7_1647808042421.jpgThe black and grey shadows in this evocative image really reflect the moment. This is United struggling on following the air disaster at Munich in February 1958 that wiped out eight of their players. Swept along by emotion, they reached the semi-finals of the European Cup once again but went out to AC Milan despite winning the first leg at Old Trafford 2-1. Pictured is goalkeeper Harry Gregg, who dragged three team-mates from the blazing wreckage at Munich, punching the ball clear. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/55382277-10614847-United_fans_cheer_wildly_after_Colin_Webster_scored_an_89th_minu-a-8_1647808042422.jpgUnited fans cheer wildly after Colin Webster scored an 89th-minute winner to take them into the FA Cup semi-finals in 1958. Their squad decimated following Munich, United did brilliantly to reach the final at Wembley, only to lose 2-0 to Bolton. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/55376569-10614847-This_aerial_image_shows_how_Old_Trafford_looked_on_the_eve_of_th-a-9_1647808042436.jpgThis aerial image shows how Old Trafford looked on the eve of the 1966 World Cup, when it hosted three group stage games. In the immediate post-war years, the club invested tens of thousands of pounds in redeveloping the stadium, adding roofing and floodlights. Ahead of the 1966 tournament, the club's directors decided to remove the old pillars that obstructed so many views in the United Road (north) Stand and install a cantilever roof. The stand was expanded to hold 10,000 in seated accommodation at the back and 10,000 on a terrace at the front. United were also the British club to install private boxes. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/55382469-10614847-Part_of_the_upgrades_ahead_of_the_1966_World_Cup_included_constr-a-10_1647808042457.jpgPart of the upgrades ahead of the 1966 World Cup included construction of a new passenger bridge over the railway line i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/55381505-10614847-George_Best_suitcase_in_hand_isn_t_short_of_attention_as_he_make-a-11_1647808042486.jpgGeorge Best, suitcase in hand, isn't short of attention as he makes his way across the Old Trafford car park after a match in the 1968/1969 season. The prominent signage on the top of the Stretford End welcomed spectators from far and wide to the home of the European champions at the time. Note the huge floodlight pylons, too, and a tall chimney in the background i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/52084963-10614847-Those_private_boxes_are_clearly_visible_in_this_photograph_of_a_-a-12_1647808042511.jpgThose private boxes are clearly visible in this photograph of a game against Manchester City in 1970. A similar redevelopment of the East Stand was completed in 1973 but this outlay coincided with declining fortunes for the club on the field in the 1970s after Matt Busby stepped aside. Indeed, they were relegated into the second division in 1974, returning at the first attempt. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/55376565-10614847-The_Scoreboard_End_one_of_the_final_parts_of_the_stadium_to_get_-a-13_1647808042609.jpgThe Scoreboard End, one of the final parts of the stadium to get a roof, is seen on what appears to be a clement day in 1971. As well as a scoreboard and clock showing the United scoreline at the top, the letters would correspond to a list of the day's fixtures printed in the match programme. The score from each game would be shown at half-time to keep fans updated. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/15/12/55376601-10614847-image-a-63_1647346333122.jpgThe legendary George Best on the ball during a league match against Wolves in 1971. Most of Old Trafford remained terracing at this point and would do for a long time yet but every part would be covered within two more years. Unfortunately, the rise of hooliganism led to United becoming the first club in the country to install a perimeter fence to keep supporters off the pitch i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/55376591-10614847-The_exterior_of_the_Stretford_End_circa_1983_showing_the_club_s_-a-14_1647808042617.jpgThe exterior of the Stretford End circa 1983, showing the club's souvenir shop and ticket office. One effect of the regular redevelopment work was a reduction in capacity - in the 1983-84 campaign, for example, the highest attendance was 58,547 for a match against Barcelona but averaged 42,215 in the league. This was a big drop from the crowds of 80,000 initially seen when the stadium was first built. The 1989 Hillsborough disaster and the Taylor Report that followed it led to the phasing out of terracing and the arrival of all-seater stadiums. This conversion led to the capacity going down to 44,000 i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/55382299-10614847-A_look_inside_the_United_trophy_cabinet_in_September_1980_At_tha-a-16_1647808043304.jpgA look inside the United trophy cabinet in September 1980. The North Stand was turned into a three-tiered monster ahead of the 1996 European Championship, with similar cantilever rooves added to the West and East Stands in the subsequent years. The corners were filled in at the north end, raising the capacity to around the 75,000 mark. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/03/20/20/55376571-10614847-In_May_2008_to_mark_the_40th_anniversary_of_United_s_first_Europ-a-22_1647808043730.jpgIn May 2008, to mark the 40th anniversary of United's first European Cup triumph, 'The United Trinity' statue of George Best, Denis Law and Bobby Charlton was unveiled on the Old Trafford forecourt. Luke Shaw: Man Utd & England defender a Euros doubt as injury could end Premier League season..By Simon Stone, BBC Sport.
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/10AAE/production/_132707286_gettyimages-2013749074.jpg Shaw has made 12 Premier League appearances for Manchester United this seasonManchester United and England defender Luke Shaw is facing a battle to be fit for Euro 2024 after suffering a recurrence of a leg injury during Sunday's Premier League win at Luton. Shaw, 28, was replaced just before half-time at Kenilworth Road. That came just seven days after failing to appear for the second half of his side's win at Aston Villa. United manager Erik ten Hag said after the game at Luton it "did not look great" for Shaw. There are now fears full-back Shaw will be sidelined for weeks and potentially unavailable for the rest of the Premier League campaign. That would put his place in Gareth Southgate's England squad in doubt for this summer's tournament in Germany. For United, it also leaves Ten Hag without a recognised left-back. The Dutchman opted to cut short Sergio Reguilon's loan from Tottenham during the January transfer window, believing Shaw and Tyrell Malacia were close to fitness after injury. However, Dutchman Malacia has yet to feature this season, leaving Victor Lindelof as the most likely option for Saturday's home game with Fulham.

Manchester United 1-2 Fulham: Erik ten Hag looks to 'bigger picture' despite defeat..By Simon Stone, BBC Sport at Old Trafford.ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/b57b/live/5d18deb0-d341-11ee-a6e2-2b6411d4225c.jpgManchester United manager Erik ten Hag insists the future is positive despite losing at home to Fulham for only the second time in 61 years. The 2-1 defeat was United's 10th loss in the Premier League this season. To put that into context, Sir Alex Ferguson never experienced the ignominy of 10 league losses in 21 Premier League campaigns. It has now happened to United five times in the past 11 seasons. They are now eight points adrift of fourth-placed Aston Villa, even though they have done the double over Unai Emery's men. Although the home side had more possession, corners, shots and shots on target at Old Trafford on Saturday, most observers would have agreed with Fulham boss Marco Silva's concise summary: "It is clear in my opinion, the better team won the game." But, in the week when Sir Jim Ratcliffe had his co-ownership of United confirmed, talked of knocking Manchester City and Liverpool off their perch and the importance of Champions League qualification, Ten Hag came up with an alternative narrative. "After one defeat you have to see the bigger picture - and the bigger picture looks very good," said the Dutchman. Ten Hag's reasoning is threefold. Firstly, he needs his injured players back. The United boss bemoaned the loss of influential midfielder Casemiro, who suffered a hefty bang on the head when the game was still goalless. With Rasmus Hojlund, Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez already out, it was a blow United could ill-afford. Ten Hag can also see the promise of Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Omari Forson, who was defended by his manager after failing to spark on his full debut: "I thought it was a reasonable performance." And then there is the transfer window, even though Ratcliffe mentioned earlier in the week that without Champions League qualification, finances in the summer will be tight. "When we get the injuries back we will be more in balance in the team," said Ten Hag. "We also need to strengthen the squad in the transfer windows and then there are many good players, with high potential coming up. "Definitely we are going in the right direction. So when everyone is available we have a very good team." ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/0139/production/_132731300_gettyimages-2035634129.jpg

Real Madrid have started to analyse the prospect of re-signing France centre-back Raphael Varane, 30, and Brazil midfielder Casemiro, 32, who the Spanish club sold to Manchester United. Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham are set to compete for Fenerbahce midfielder Sebastian Szymanski in the summer, with AC Milan and Inter Milan also interested in the 24-year-old Poland international. Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood, 22, wants to remain at Getafe, according to the club's president Angel Torres. The forward is currently on loan at the Spanish side.
