When the late Denis Dunford resigned as a director of the club I proposed to the board that he should fill the clubs vacant Club President position.
Now following the resignation of Geoff Dunford after nearly 30 years service to the club IMO it would be fitting that he followed in his late Fathers footsteps and filled the vacant position.

That would seem appropriate.

Does the club still have a Club President? They probably have, but if so he seems to be a little like Lord Lucan, and not the Duke of Beaufort type at all.
As for Geoff Dunford . . . que sera sera.

Now following the resignation of Geoff Dunford after nearly 30 years service to the club IMO it would be fitting that he followed in his late Fathers footsteps and filled the vacant position. Whilst this is really decent of you for obvious reasons, his ongoing involvement with the club would be a cause for division and anger.

It's an honory title Dins so not sure who would be angered but such an honour?

Whatever mistakes have been made over the years, I firmly believe he's given a lot to the Club and has always made himself available either through the Gaslist, the Ask Dunford on the Original Forum or more latterly Twitter. Even before the internet he replied to letters and has always been approachable in person. Not many others have been there to contact on a whim. So I think if he were given this title it'd be fully merited.

They have seen the light as well.
